Loving on this 1,200-square-foot living mural we designed comprised of 3,200 drought-tolerant plants. The living wall also includes an irrigation system, fed by a 1,350-gallon recirculating rainwater collection tank. Copper gutters and 200 feet of irrigation help keep the plants happy in the midst of a water shortage. The mural was carefully planned on a grid, much like a cross-stitch pattern, with undulating channels of varied colors leading from the sidewalk to the sky. A Greener London were one of the new dynamic companies on the supply Wandsworth scheme that were invited to exhibit at the Net Zero Summit at Battersea Arts Centre. There were a number of speakers, educating the crowd on how local businesses can make their own contribution to the local governments goal of reaching Net Zero carbon emissions by 2043. We believe that A Greener London can help our government's mission through creating more green infrastructure in our urban & open-spaced environment. Living Walls are a great way to help offset carbon emissions as plants have a unique ability to absorb up to 20% greenhouse gases from the air which helps in reducing air pollution. A Greener London are currently consulting with the local government to help increase green infrastructure within the London Borough of Wandsworth. With Putney High Street being the second most polluted road in London after Oxford street, it is imperative to create as many solutions to combat air pollution in the city. Installed by @pritchardandpritchard using the @terapia_urbana fytotextile living wall system, we now maintain this vibrant living wall. The wall has now been in place for 12 months and is looking really good! The Spring and Autumn horticultural visits to living walls are an important part of their maintenance, making space for new growth, pruning away any dead wood and ensuring irrigation systems are working optimally. Just like a traditional garden these detail visits really support the long term health of a living wall. Located in a busy part of Sheffield this living wall is a real tonic, improving local air quality and dampening noise pollution. The Earthshot Prize is a catalytic global environment challenge to unleash urgent optimism & action by discovering, accelerating, awarding, spotlighting & scaling solutions to repair & regenerate the planet. An inspiring display of plants captured the audience in as 15 finalists introduced their groundbreaking climate and environmental solutions to repair our planet this decade on one of the biggest international stages. La semana pasada celebramos la jornada técnica y la asamblea anual de socios ASESCUVE en Las Naves de Valencia, coincidiendo con su designación como Capital Verde Europea 2024. La jornada técnica contó con las ponencias de Mª Francisca Hipólito, responsable de proyectos de renaturalización y NBS en @lasnavesinn , el Prof. Herbert Dreiseitl, de @dreiseitlconsulting, y @aliciavillazan, Técnico de Proyectos Europeos en la Agencia de Innovación y Desarrollo Económico del @ayuntamientovll También se realizó una mesa debate sobre “Sequía, adaptación al presente y retos de futuro” que contó con la participación de @gabrielperezluque Pérez, Miembro del grupo de investigación Innovative Technologies for Sustainability Research Group en la @udlhacks , @enric_sancho Sancho, Director Técnico en @cultidelta , y Dani Lacueva, Director en @babilonjardineria Tanto las ponencias como la mesa debate fueron de un gran interés y contribuyeron a fomentar el debate entre los asistentes sobre cómo afrontar los retos que plantea la situación actual y que soluciones adoptar para continuar fomentando la adopción de soluciones basadas en la naturaleza en nuestras ciudades y municipios, soluciones que han de partir necesariamente de una gestión eficiente y responsable del agua. Por la tarde se celebró la Asamblea General Ordinaria de socios de ASESCUVE en la que se aprobó la gestión de la junta directiva en 2023 y se debatió sobre los retos de presente y futuro de ASESCUVE.
