This attraction is a completely immersive experience that makes you feel like you are part of the Resistance. You don’t even have to be a Star Wars fan or know what “the Resistance” is to appreciate how awesome this ride is. Do you ever plan rest days during your trip? As a kid, my mom always built rest days into our trips, but it took 2 exhausting trips as an adult for me to start including them in our own plans. We love them now because they give us a chance to sleep in, enjoy our resort that we are paying for & allow us to rest up for more fun on our park days. Some great rest day activities at Coronado Springs include nature walks & bike rides, sleeping in & having Mickey waffles in bed, swimming, relaxing on one of the beach hammocks or running around on the playground. It’s also a great time to do any laundry so you can pack lighter. This trip we wanted to explore our resort dining & went to the rooftop Dahlia Lounge for a quick snack with views of all 4 of the theme parks (this spot will be extra cool when fireworks return) & enjoyed a movie on the lawn in front of Gran Destino Tower.
What do you do when you have one kid that loves coasters, one kid that doesn’t & one kid that isn’t tall enough to ride? You utilize rider swap! Rider Swap allows parents to take turns riding with kids who are tall enough & brave enough without waiting in line twice. To get a rider swap, you entire party (riders & non-riders) will join the queue. When you get up to the main entrance, there will be a cast member who will ask who is going first, who is going second & who is not riding at all. The adult going 2nd & up to 2 additional people from group 1 will have their park ticket or Magic Band scanned. The first set of riders stays in the regular line while the adult going 2nd & any additional non-riders exit the line to go grab a snack, ride a different ride or find somewhere to watch group 1 enjoy the ride. After group 1 finishes, you meet up, swap off non-riders & then group 2 can take their turn, but rather than going through the traditional line, group 2 scans in at the fast pass entrance for a shorter wait. We used rider swap on Slinky Dog Dash during our last trip & our kiddo that rides with both groups ended up getting 4 rides on one of his favorite coasters.
