Last week @waltdisneyworld announced it changed their Disability Access Services (DAS) to now only cover those with developmental disabilities like autism. While I recognize the importance of reining in abuse, my son lives with #type1diabetes, a disease requiring 24-7 monitoring of his blood sugar. Too high, he can go into DKA and die. Too low, he can have a seizure and die. T1D doesn't stop because he's at Disney. He has used the DAS on many occasions when having either high or low blood sugar to help limit the impact of his disease infringing on his Disney experience. Since I'm raising Luke to be an advocate, I wrote an open letter to CEO Bob Iger to help educate him about what living with an invisible illness like #t1d is like in hopes they change their policy. Citing “changing business conditions,” Disney on Thursday shelved plans to construct a new campus in Florida, according to a company spokesperson. Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, sent an email to employees Thursday notifying them that the company will not be building its blueprinted billion dollar office complex in Lake Nona. Food allergies are very important to our family with our daughter having a life threatening food allergy. Our happy place used to be @waltdisneyworld led by @joshdamaro for over a decade. Last year we had an unfortunate issue with cross contamination at a signature restaurant on property which we really destroyed our trip. This was really crushing to our daughter who always viewed Disney as her safe place. A cast member told my daughter to reach out to guest services as they would do something for her. After writing Mr. D’Amaro and Mr. Iger as well as talking to two members of their executive correspondence team we were told they wouldn’t do anything for her and blamed what the cast member said due to a lack of training. It is obvious that profit has over taken safety with Disney. We gave them a chance to make it right, in our hearts hoping they would find some compassion, however my wife was met with arrogance. As a result we are never visiting @waltdisneyworld again, we are canceling our Disney credit cards and Disney Plus. @joshdamaro we were a Disney loyal family who championed you and your vision. This has been destroyed and I hope you take the time to turn things around. Sorry reef family, I usually keep it light and hobby focused; but real life has to come into perspective. Take care of those around you with food allergies with compassion and kindness; it really means everything to them! To kickoff the 40th anniversary #bobiger and #joshdamaro joined the #tokyodisneyresort ambassador today at a brief event was preceded by a ceremony that brought together Toshio Kagami, chairman of Oriental Land Co. the operator of Tokyo Disneyland, and Robert Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Co. Kagami voiced his gratitude to those supporting the theme park over the years. “The 40th anniversary celebrations are the beginning of the next chapter in our story,” Iger said.

Star Wars fans were surprised when Disney unveiled a "real" lightsaber during a presentation at SXSW. Disney’s parks and experiences chairman, Josh D’Amaro, hit a button on the side of the lightsaber hilt he was holding, and a bright blue beam shot from it, making everyone confused trying to figure out how that was done.
