💻Q: Do you preplan your feed or captions or do you just wing it? Ok so I’ve been trying to pre-plan/write lately, just so I can try to improve on my consistency. The main thing is that I’m just so done at the end of the day, my brain goes blank and I can’t think of anything to post or say so I just end up not doing it even though I want to. Does anyone else have this issue? So my solution is to start planning out my feed and prewriting captions as much as possible so that it’s less work at the end of the and I can just click that post button. Today I did a lot of reading in Guy Shrubsole’s ‘The Lost Rainforests of Britain’, and I can say without hesitation that this has become one of the best books that I have ever read. I never knew that Great Britain (yes, he mentions Scotland and Wales as well as England) was once a rainforest nation. With rainforests, we usually think of Brazil and non-European countries. But this isn’t true. Before intensive deforestation and agriculture, Great Britain was covered in Tolkien style forests, which hosted a variety of animals that are now extinct- swine and wolves and even bison. This book raises awareness without being political, discusses the imminent threat to our world without being depressing, and inspires greatly. November wrap up 🧸– how many books have you read last month and which book was your favorite ? ☕️🕯️🍂 As always, I’m a little late when it comes to sharing my wrap up with you. November has been a restless and rough month. While I read four books in a row at the beginning of the month, I couldn’t bring myself to read anything until the exact end of the month because I wasn’t feeling mentally the best…but my social battery is recharged and here are the books I read 🥹: • Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo ( reread) 3.75 ⭐️ Ninth House was an exquisitely dark trip into the abyss of Alex' mind and life. I didn’t love it as much as I did reading it for the first time because I realized how little interest I had in the murder mysteries that didn’t really create suspense as a subplot. Nevertheless, Darlington stole my heart again and everything about the atmospheric dark academia aesthetic of Yale university & the societies has my heart. 🤎 • Hell Bent – 3.5 ⭐️: I‘m a little disappointed and frustrated about everything that occurred in Hell Bent. The pacing was off, there was too much going on and I‘d loved to get a better inside look into the tormented soul of the characters. I‘ve missed the emotional rollercoaster that Hell Bent promised to be. Give me emotional-charged moments instead of glowing genitals. It might not have been my favorite book by Bardugo, but it was well researched and Yale came alive before my eyes thanks to the many details. 🕯️ • Queen of Dragons by Shana Abé I thrifted this book long time ago, not knowing what it was actually about. It turned about to be a light smut book. It wasn’t good nor a bad plotted book, and it did amuse me every now and then. I also love female characters who have a lot of edges, who survive on their own. – 3 ⭐️ • The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Susan Collins – 4 ⭐️ Confession time: when the prequel was published, I never wanted to read it simply because in my eyes the hunger games trilogy was in its perfect. I read the books when I was 14, before the films were out and I wanted to keep these (bitter)sweet memories. Now that the film adaption has come out, I gave in and was pleasantly surprised !

When Tom gets a taste for the luxury of Dickie Greenleaf's life, he'll do anything to keep it for himself. Set in the beautiful cities of a dark and wintery Europe, The Talented Mr Ripley could almost be taken for Dark Academia. Here we have art, music, classics and culture married with wealthy excess, hedonism and violence. If you're a fan of The Secret History, this certainly has a similar feel. The writing is rich and claustrophobic, the characters are colourful and complex, and the thrills don't stop coming.
