Well, I’ve just finished my current read, Oranges and Lemons by Christopher Fowler. What a book! It was my first by the author and also the nineteenth book in the Bryant and May detective series. It’s a big chunk of a book with lots going on inside and so clever and intricate, with fabulous well established characters. It’s also a tribute to the amazing city of London - as, I suspect, all the Bryant and May novels are. It was absolutely scrumptious and everything I hoped it would be when I chose it as my next read. [Hörbuch] "Ein Roman ist wie der Bogen einer Geige und ihr Resonanzkörper wie die Seele des Lesers." Halli Hallo 🌸 Ich hoffe es geht euch gut? 📚 Hört ihr euch Hörbücher an? Bis vor kurzem konnte ich mit Hörbüchern nur wenig anfangen meist hatte ich das Problem, das mir die Erzählstimme nicht zugesagt hatte und ich deswegen nur schlecht in die Story gekommen bin. Das hat sich mit "Throne of Glass" gesprochen von @ann_vielhaben komplett verändert und ich bin wirklich soo glücklich darüber! Momentan komme ich vor lauter Alltag nur schlecht zum Lesen, da bietet ein Hörbuch die perfekte Lösung, zwischen Wäsche und Geschirr einfach mal abzutauchen und dem Stress zu entkommen. ZERO. E le scene ansiogene con il demogorgone nei primi episodi? Panico puro e io che salto sul divano spaventandomi. ⠀ 🖤 Ma devo ammettere che è stato meglio così! The Girl With All the Gifts - M.R Carey Okay so the first thing you should know about me before we get into this book is that I love all things zombies. Zombie games, zombie tv shows, zombie books, love ‘em all. So obviously this book really had me. A very unique telling of a zombie dystopian world. Not only that, children “zombies” that are intelligent and almost exactly like humans except they eat people? I’m so in. This was a really unique book and I loved it. I was hoping for a sequel because the end left some sprinklings open for a second so we’ll see! Part 2 of my "SJM with Cricket" series! ACOMAF was decidedly better than the first in the series, and I did find myself marking off the passages I enjoyed. Faut absolument que je vous parle de ce livre que je n’ai, malheureusement, pas apprécié. Plus on avance dans l’histoire plus on se sens très mal .. 🌳 Je vous cache pas que les personnages sont pas trop présent dans toute l’histoire, ça m’a donnée moins d’attache avec eux. Suo padre la confina in casa, Angela è praticamente tagliata fuori dal mondo, sotto la tirannia di un padre padrone, di una madre remissiva e rassegnata al suo destino, la ragazza non sa nulla di cosa stia accadendo fuori, della lotta contro i fascisti, dei partigiani, vorrebbe solo che tutto finisse, non capisce le ragioni di Luigi pertanto non riesce a schierarsi, scelta che da adulta rimpiangerà tantissimo. Il peso della vergogna di @serenamcleen è stata una lettura molto scorrevole e piacevole, adoro i romanzi di ambientazione storica e soprattutto le storie che seguono diverse linee temporali. In terms of artwork, this is THE Joker; the most iconic, maniacal, perfectly executed Joker there’s probably ever been on the page. Brian Bolland’s work is just so damn perfect. In terms of story, Alan Moore delivers a vicious little scenario that explores the dynamic between Batman and the Joker with a wicked sense of ironic ambiguity. I really have no idea how I’d never read this one, before. It’s a quick and enjoyable graphic novel that understands these characters incredibly well and brings them to life with such beautifully exaggerated artistry. Przeczytałem "Krótka historia czasu" Stephen_a Hawking-a. Książka ta pokazała mi jak mało jeszcze wiem ale również wyjaśniła mi to czego nie wiem xD. Wiem paradoks ale jest to pozycja która zmusi Cie do skupienia i szukania odpowiedzi na pytanie których nie znasz a dla autora są one blachę na tyle że ich nie tłumaczy ale po za tym wiele aspektów fizyki objasia w sposób nad zycaj prosty i łatwo przysfajalny. Ze začátku byl děj hodně pomalý a i když se postupně rozjel vůbec to nestačilo na to abych si čtení užila. Také mi přišlo, že autor hodně špatně dávkoval čtenáři informace o podzemním světě. 𝐑𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 „𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡“ Auf welche Reihenfortsetzung freut Ihr Euch am meisten? Ich freue mich schon auf die Fortsetzung der „Kings of Sin“ Reihe von Ana Huang. Ich habe sie zum Glück auch schon zu Hause stehen. Für mich war es das erste Buch der Autorin und da ich schon so viel gutes über ihre „Twisted“-Reihe gehört habe, dachte ich mir, ich versuche es mal mit „King of Wrath“. Ich bin tatsächlich über die Seiten geflogen, die Story war sehr kurzweilig. Vor allem den Grumpy vs. Sunshine Trope habe ich sehr geliebt. Die Protas waren toll ausgearbeitet, vor allem Vivian mit ihrer sonnigen und leicht sarkastischen Art konnte mich vollends überzeugen. Die Story ist spannend, humorvoll und prickelnd. Einen kleinen Punkt Abzug gebe ich den spicy Szenen, die haben mich tatsächlich eher etwas zum schmunzeln oder Augen rollen gebracht. Aber das ist eher Geschmacksache und auch ein wenig dem DR-Genre geschuldet, dass ich lese. Ich hatte sehr viel Freude an dem Buch und empfehle es gerne weiter! KT: Sie ist die Frau, die er nie wollte - und seine größte Schwäche Dante Russo kontrolliert sowohl sein Unternehmen als auch sein Privatleben mit äußerster Sorgfalt. Review | From Blood and Ash NO SPOILERS ⭐️⭐️ 2/5 stars Ok for starters, I’m gonna be super honest, I’ve just started to read part 3 of this series, but this book, the first one in the series? Good god, I wanted to quit reading a million times. It was SO predictable, SO unoriginal, SO Mary Sue that I almost gave up. But momma raised no quitter 😂 No that’s one thing I cannot do, I always have to finish a book, even if it’s a bad one, habit of mine 🫣 But for real, the names of all the characters are weird and unoriginal, the storyline is so boring, the scenery is boring and in this book nothing seems to happen until the very last 50 pages or so. I truly felt it’s potential but it was so bad that it took me almost 1,5 month to complete it 😝 It’s taking me a while to adjust to the series, especially after finishing the ACOTAR series. But since Im starting book 3 today, it gets better, I promise. Not gonna lie, it’s absolutely not the best book series I’ve read and honestly, don’t even know if Im gonna recommend this one to you. So yeah do with the information what you like 😜

„Projekt” Kinga Figarski 4/5⭐️ Bardzo dobrze się bawiłam czytając tą książkę. Chociaż początek był dla mnie trudny i przyznam szczerze, że przez dużą ilość bohaterów często musiałam zaglądać na tył książki gdzie byli opisywani jednym słowem to serio się wczułam w tę historię. Początek był trudny, wręcz myślałam, że książka mi się nie spodoba, jednak z każdym następnym rozdziałem coraz bardziej się wciągałam. Aż nadszedł koniec i odczułam pewną pustkę, że to już koniec historii, a nawet nostalgię podczas czytania epilogu. Pomysł na książkę świetny, nie nudziłam się czytając ją, a myślałam, że będzie wręcz przecwnie. Oczywiście muszę wspomnieć o bardzo dużym zwrocie akcji, którego się nie spodziewałam, ale to wszystko dodało do tej ksiązki tego „czegoś”, co jasno mówi mi, że ta książka, chociaż nie wiem jakbyś chciał, nigdy nie przewidzisz następnego ruchu. "Tutti su questo treno sono sospetti" di Benjamin Stevenson, edito @feltrinelli_editore, è un libro sorprendente per la costruzione originale, fuori dal comune. Dopo il grandissimo successo di "Tutti nella mia famiglia hanno ucciso qualcuno", l'autore non tradisce il suo pubblico con una storia esilarante e spiritosa, non mancheranno sicuramente risa e divertimento, assieme, ovviamente, al mistero e la suspence. E quale amante di gialli non leggerebbe un libro con l'ambientazione di un omicidio su un treno? La storia è ambientata durante un viaggio in Australia, dove è in corso il Festival Australiano del giallo in omaggio ad "Assassinio sull'Orient Express" di Agata Christie, a bordo del treno Ghan che si sposterà da Darwin a Adelaide. Il treno non fa neanche in tempo a partire che già ci "scappa" il morto, ma essendo presente tutti scrittori di gialli, ognuno inizia ad elaborare un proprio profilo del probabile assassino. Il lettore è coinvolto direttamente dal protagonista, il quale, durante la trama, fornisce degli indizi. Libro consigliato. 2024 reading update so far 💛✨ So far this year, I have read 8 books out of 60 which is my reading goal for the year, I am 12 books behind my reading goal so far due to being in various reading slumps 😭 However, I’m hoping that with some very highly anticipated reads on my TBR that I can’t wait to get to, will help me hopefully catch up 🤞🏼 This year, I have also started reading mystery/ thriller books again & I am absolutely loving this genre atm, and they have definitely been helping getting me out of a reading slump! Storie che trasudano mistero e disgrazia, enigmi irrisolti in arcani fra occhi infossati di notti insonni, cieco panico e rabbia sommessa. Tonfi sordi che lasciano - disorientati - in stralci di buio oscuro e agghiacciante: solo squarci in un silenzio sordo e una paura dell' ignoto che non conferisce quiete, fra parole nelle quali dimenarsi incalzati dalle proprie stesse ossessioni e paure. Sprofondare nell' incoscienza del non sapere, abbandonandosi ad un sonno atavico senza pace né sentimento - flussi di pensieri concatenati ad un disordine che non lascia scampo in dimore di fuochi fatui fra malvagità e dimenticanza. Enigmi che attanagliano l' esistenza, il proprio stesso vivere, sempre alla ricerca di verità da sviscerare con la forza dell' oculatezza, della ragione e della coscienza. Reclusioni e tragedie che innescano reazioni a catena di infausta memoria, sordidi lamenti di un' ambiguità che ottenebra la mente, negando - semplicemente - la parte migliore di sé. Siamo nella Londra del 1913 fra suggestione ed evocazione, tragici avvenimenti ed eventi colmi di negata percezione. Un male che alligna - in maniera subdola e melliflua - lungo i sentieri del bene per il giovane impiegato dell' Ufficio Postale Edward Rooney: la vista di un' elegante villa in stile vittoriano durante una consegna e lamenti di un bambino fra spettralita' e maledizione. Il risveglio di Edward riverso in un prato - tra sbigottimento e stordimento - tratto in salvo da Cassandra Hamilton, anziana donna con poteri da veggente dalla spiccata sensibilità percettiva. Un potere in grado di scardinare oblii di meschinità e infamia fra racconti di antiche reminiscenze e una coppia alto-borghese - il dottor Mindegard e l' avvenente moglie Helena - avvolta in una fitta e impenetrabile coltre di nebbia. Domande cui dare risposta, semplicemente un volto fra incontri enigmatici e una misteriosa donna dai capelli rossi che accoglie un Edward in cerca di verità a casa Mindegard. "L' enigma di Cassandra" di Veronica D'Appollonio è un meraviglioso viaggio nella psiche di realtà raccapriccianti e di una luce che - sempiterna - illumina la fiamma della speranza. Coffee and current read 🍓📖☕️🩵 The perfect start to the weekend. I’m 150 pages in to Heartless and definitely prefer it to Flawless already! I couldn’t resist this mug from Homesense 😍 I also borrowed my friends kindle to read some of my tbr that is on kindle unlimited and the temptation to get one of my own is strong 😅 What are your plans for this weekend?
