I haven't been on here in a while, but I've been busy! I finished a half marathon, creating space for myself to relax and do what I love, run! Sprinkled in some barre classes and spending quality time with my family. Postpartum clients with many needs and I'm happy to serve. A few births are coming up, and a new family to join comes this August. I'm finishing up working with some twins overnight come end of May. It's so hard not to get attached, but each family has welcomed me with love and open arms. Postpartum work is far more rewarding than I could ever have imagined. Looking for a new travel ball program, or brand new to the travel ball circuit? Come tryout for Canes Illinois for the upcoming 2025 season! Canes Illinois is a program, started in 2020 by Mark Sheehan with the focus being on overall player health. We've all seen the pandemic of arm injuries that pitchers are suffering at the major league and collegiate level, we have some of the strictest pitch counts and ArmCare protocols in the country. We also have 2 current professional pitchers working in our pitching department along with a current professional working in our hitting department. This means that guys who have gotten to the top are guiding these young men in their critical development years. This past offseason, utilizing TRAQ to help program across all of our athletes, we saw average velocity gains of almost 4 MPH across our pitchers and almost 2 MPH of exit velocity in our hitters. This is no flash in the pan gains, these have held true through their high school seasons and first few tournaments as well. We are anti-daddy ball, especially at the high school level. Sensory processing is a fundamental aspect of our interaction with the world around us. For most kids, heading out into the world to play in nature, meet new friends, and try new things are experiences that bring joy and connection. But for some children, these sensory interactions and experiences can be overwhelming, which can also be exhausting and isolating for you as parents as well. 😢 Sadly the rate and prevalence of sensory issues in kids has exploded over the last generation or two, with some studies and estimates showing it to now be as high as 𝟏 𝐢𝐧 𝟔 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬. Just like sensory issues and challenges in kids are too easily overlooked, so is the root cause – an overly stressed and out-of-balance nervous system.
