2023 hatte ich das Glück mit einem ♥️Menschen die Kinder in @ourbridge.de zu besuchen. Dadurch konnte ich mir selber ein Bild von der Lage verschaffen und ich wurde um so mehr bestärkt, die Kinder weiterhin zu unterstützen. Zudem habe ich auch viele wunderbare Menschen kennenlernen dürfen, mit denen ich heute noch in Kontakt stehe. Seit jetzt 3 Jahren spende ich jedes Jahr 5% meines Erlöse den Kindern. Die schreckliche Zeit, als der Islamische Staat in das Heimatort einfiel, erinnert sie aufgrund ihres jungen Alters kaum noch. Nur einmal ist sie in die Heimat Til Qeseb zurückgekehrt, doch all die Häuser waren infolge der Zerstörung kaum wiederzuerkennen. The topic of discussion was immigrant children and families who are our neighbors - challenges they face, their resilience and triumphs, and how we can participate in welcoming them. Janice had us all in tears! she really went in depth with what the minors we serve endure daily. She represented CWS with the highest honor and showcased how important the work that we do is. She said, "Being a level 1 Case Manager is difficult, we do not have much time...it is like putting an expiration date on people who still need our help." Vor mehr als einem Monat erschütterte ein schweres Erbeben die türkisch-syrische Grenzregion. Mehr als 50.000 Menschen sind bei der Naturkatastrophe ums Leben gekommen. Nach UN-Schätzungen sind allein in Syrien bis zu 5,3 Millionen Menschen obdachlos geworden. Der UN-Nothilfe-Koordinator hat inzwischen zugegeben, dass die Menschen in Nordwestsyrien viel zu lange auf Hilfe warten mussten. Und auch jetzt noch kommen kaum Hilfsgüter in der syrischen Erdbebenregion an. Aufgrund des Bürgerkrieges sind nur wenige Grenzübergänge geöffnet. Einer, der es ins Land geschafft hat, ist der Oldenburger Paruar Bako von der Hilfsorganisation OurBidge. Der Deutsch-Kurde hilft seit fast zehn Jahren Menschen im Nahen Osten, vor allem jesidischen Kurden, die durch den sogenannten Islamischen Staat im Irak verfolgt und vertrieben werden. In Syrien durften sich Paruar Bako und seine Hilfs- und Partnerorganisationen nur unter Aufsicht von Milizen bewegen: “Ich hätte da eigentlich gar nicht reinkommen dürfen als Deutscher Staatsbürger. Es ging nur, weil alle, die mit mir reingereist sind, aus Kurdistan waren. Aber auch, weil viele Dinge inoffiziell abgelaufen sind, insbesondere was die Grenzübergänge betrifft.“ Anders als im Rest des Landes wird die Region im Nordwesten Syriens von Aufständischen kontrolliert. In den Notunterkünften ist die Lage dramatisch. Es fehlt an lebensnotwendigen Utensilien, medizinischer Betreuung und sanitären Anlagen. Die Menschen benötigen dringend unsere Unterstützung. Um den Betroffenen eine gezielte Hilfe gewährleisten zu können, möchten wir als Familiengrundschulzentrum Sonnenstrasse zu Spenden aufrufen. Spenden werden ab sofort angenommen. - mission complete - Gestern bin ich in der Nähe von Oldenburg gewesen, um @jnkprbm das Bild der Auktion zu bringen. Einen besseren Besitzer für das Bild hätte man nicht finden können. Die Freude, die er sehr authentisch zum Ausdruck brachte, war mir wiederum eine viel größere Freude. Heute war ich hier in Bremen bei @ourbridge.de und habe den Erlös der Auktion abgeliefert. Mit dem Geld wird im Nordirak ein Waisenhaus bzw. Bildungseinrichtung unterstützt.
