Adam van Noort was born and died in Antwerp. He was the son of Lambert van Noort from #Amersfoort and Katelijne van Broeckhuysen from #Zwolle. His parents had established themselves in #Antwerp where Lambert became a member of the local Guild of Saint Luke in 1549. His father was active primarily as a designer of #stainedglass windows and #engravings, an architect, and to a lesser extent, a painter. The family lived in #poverty. A big thank you to everyone that sent me their Vodafone Rewards £2 Sainsbury’s gift card today. I ended up with £12 worth of gift cards to spend in Sainsbury’s, with everything going to our local food bank / community food larder. It’s annoying that my local Sainsbury’s is just a small local one and so doesn’t stock any of the value ranges (which I hope will change!), so I selected the cheapest items from their own range of food, to stretch the £12 as far as possible. I ended up with bread, baked beans, soup, biscuits and tea as I know they are all universally enjoyed and I popped them into the food larder this evening. Hopefully they will help out some families this weekend. I’m hoping to go this weekly going forward so if you’d like to send any excess vouchers over on a Friday, if they are doing the same deals, I will do my bit and go and buy the food and distribute it; be great to keep this going! Benjamin the Bear has been with me nearly my whole journey in transitioning. When I woke up from my first surgery on April 13th in 2013, it was my top surgery, and three of my good friends had this guy from Build-A-Bear ready for me. I've slept with him every night since. . I decided to give him a deep clean and restuff him, since he was discolored and flat. Lookit how good he looks now! He continues on, renewed. And I feel like this will be reflective of my life now. Of the three people who gave me Benjamin, only one remains in my life now. One turned out to be awful and was removed long ago. One was a best friend of 10+ years who cut me off middle of the pandemic for no reason. And the third, @galaxiaamethyst, well we've become closer than ever! 💖 . One of my best friends committed suicide at the start of February. I previously lost more than two best friends, five friend circles, and two communities – all during the active pandemic. My disabilities have progressed, and I was almost homeless. But I can't give up, I must continue anew. So I had a day full of processing yesterday; “the truth will set you free” or for me free you up to see the next steps. My wife and I spent some time chewing over the post, which gave me to room to share where I’m at and how I’m feeling. This is where I am today. Cuba faces a dire humanitarian crisis. Families struggle through a broken economy. Relentless power cuts plunge communities into darkness for extended periods, while skyrocketing prices for basic necessities push them further towards desperation. The most devastating consequence, however, is the spectre of hunger that stalks these vulnerable populations. Unpaid wages for months on end have stripped them of the ability to provide even the most basic sustenance for their loved ones. Each passing day threatens further lives. Amidst this bleak landscape, Go Dharmic has begun working on the ground in Cuba to provide essential relief. Recently, our dedicated volunteers managed to reach 89 individuals in dire need, supplying them with critical food and vital vitamin and nutrient supplements. However, the scale of the crisis far outstrips our current capacity. A big thank you to everyone that sent me their Vodafone Rewards £2 Sainsbury’s gift card today. I ended up with £12 worth of gift cards to spend in Sainsbury’s, with everything going to our local food bank / community food larder. It’s annoying that my local Sainsbury’s is just a small local one and so doesn’t stock any of the value ranges (which I hope will change!), so I selected the cheapest items from their own range of food, to stretch the £12 as far as possible. I ended up with bread, baked beans, soup, biscuits and tea as I know they are all universally enjoyed and I popped them into the food larder this evening. Hopefully they will help out some families this weekend. I’m hoping to go this weekly going forward so if you’d like to send any excess vouchers over on a Friday, if they are doing the same deals, I will do my bit and go and buy the food and distribute it; be great to keep this going!
