Così dichiara la moglie di Donald E. Westlake, autore di culto del poliziesco americano, nato a Brooklyn nel 1933 e morto in Messico nel 2008. Lo scrittore, nel corso della sua lunga carriera, ha infatti adottato numerosi pseudonimi, dando vita a personalità letterarie contrastanti. Il suo personaggio più celebre è Dortmunder, un ladro sgangherato, il cui nome, contrazione di "don't murder", è una dichiarazione di intenti: si tratta infatti di esilaranti commedie nere in cui il maldestro ladro non fa mai fuori nessuno. Siamo dalle parti dell'hitchcockiana "Congiura degli innocenti", e la scrittura umoristica e surreale di Westlake tiene il lettore incollato alla pagina. L'altro lato della medaglia si chiama invece Richard Stark. «Quando squillò il telefono, Parker era in garage ad ammazzare un uomo», recita il secco incipit di "Terra bruciata" e ci presenta un rapinatore freddo e spietato che parla poco e uccide all'occorrenza. La prima avventura di Parker si intitola "Payback-Anonima carogne" e narra delle vicissitudini del protagonista che, tradito dalla donna e dai compagni, deve vendicarsi e riconquistare il bottino. Le storie di Parker sono state adattate con successo sullo schermo, e il rapinatore è stato impersonato da Lee Marvin, Mel Gibson e Jason Statham. «Se volete conoscere il noir, cominciate da Stark» dichiara Stephen King, che nella "Metà oscura" omaggia l'autore. Parker e Dortmunder paiono due personaggi opposti, ma ciò che li accomuna è un'ironia fuori dal comune, elemento che in genere latita nel poliziesco classico. During the scenes of the movie "Parker" (2013), the British actor Jason Statham (Parker) wears a Richard Mille RM 011 Felipe Massa. ⌚The Timepiece⌚ In 1999, Richard Mille decided to create his own luxury watch brand with the idea of applying to the watches the techniques and materials used in the most innovative sectors, such as F1 racing cars or airplanes. In 2001 Richard Mille and Dominique Guenat founded the company, based in Les Breuleux. Audemars Piguet also joined the project as a minority shareholder. The first timepiece was the Richard Mille RM 001, a tourbillon model produced in just 17 pieces. Over the years many other models were produced, all with the aim of applying new materials, shapes and technologies. The Richard Mille RM011 Felipe Massa, in titanium and rose gold, is named after Felipe Massa, the first sports figure to be part of the Richard Mille family. О судьбе экспедиции не поступало никаких сведений, но капитана Макбрайда считали героем. ⠀ Спустя 16 лет после этих событий на Земле происходят вспышки энергии - поступает сигнал с Нептуна. Майору Рою Макбрайду (Брэд Питт), сыну знаменитого космонавта, поручают добраться до базы на Марсе и попытаться связаться с отцом. ⠀ Сквозь череду происшествий (преследование пиратов на Луне, нападение злобных приматов) добравшись до Красной планеты, Рой начинает подозревать, что вся эта секретная операция (от которой его отстраняют) подстроена, чтобы устранить его отца, если он ещё жив. ⠀ Некоторые кадры "Ad Astra" напоминают "Космическую одиссею" Стэнли Кубрика. Интересно сняты виды планет и космоса. Операторская работа проделана довольно качественно, а эмбиентное музыкальное сопровождение гармонично подчёркивает видеоряд. ⠀ Прекрасно справился со своей ролью Брэд Питт, продемонстрировав внешне обладающего железной выдержкой космонавта, при этом обуреваемого чувствами внутри. Многие сетуют, что именно за образ Роя Макбрайда Питту должны были дать золотую статуэтку, но у Тарантино он всё-таки фееричный. ⠀ Джеймс Грэй снял берущий за душу фильм о вечных ценностях.
