La mia ricerca di un approccio più radicale all’agroecologia in Italia mi ha portato sempre più a sud. La prima tappa è stata a Bologna, dove Campi Aperti gestisce i mercati contadini e l’organizzazione Genuino Clandestino, un’incredibile rete di agricoltori che ignorano collettivamente le costose restrizioni burocratiche imposte agli agricoltori e ai contadini per la trasformazione dei prodotti alimentari e garantiscono la qualità attraverso il proprio sistema di certificazione. My quest for a more radical approach to Agroecology in Italy took me further and further south. Stopping first in Bologna were Campi Aperti runs farmers markets and the organisation Genuino Clandestine which is an incredible network of farmers who collective ignore the expensive bureaucratic restrictions put on farmers and peasants in transforming food products, and guarantee quality through their own certification system. Esplorando l’Italia, sono rimasto sorpreso: spesso non si trattava dell’agroecologia dei machete e dei contadini a cui ero abituato. In molti luoghi, si trattava di un’agroecologia piuttosto lontana dalle lotte politiche abbracciate da un’altra razza di contadini, come quelli di Lares o della Val Susa. Questo 25 aprile ricordiamo l’importanza di lottare per la giustizia in tutto ciò che facciamo. Whilst exploring Italy I was taken aback, often this was not the agroecology of machetes and campesinos that I was used to. In many places, It was an agroecology that was quite removed from the political struggles embraced by a different breed of farmers, like those in Lares or Val Susa. This April 25th let us remember the importance of fighting for justice in everything we do. Mientras exploraba Italia, me sorprendió que a menudo no fuera la agroecología de machetes y campesinos a la que estaba acostumbrado. "At the end of my Spirit North activity, I feel tired and proud that I didn't give up!" -Grade 3 student, Saddle Lake Elementary School - Onchaminahos Elementary Photovoice is a project we like to do that gives the front seat to the youth who participate in our programs. By combining photos and quotes from participants, photovoice lets kids capture and describe their experiences of sport and play. PHOTOVOICE CERTIFICATEN 🎓📸 Vandaag hebben we de certificaten van de herstelcursus Photovoice (blok februari t/m april 2024) uitgereikt. Photovoice is een herstelcursus die gericht is op het tegengaan van stigma’s en het bekrachtigen van kwaliteiten. Dit wordt gedaan door fotografie en woord. Wat een prachtige resultaten hebben de deelnemers weer neergezet. Om nog maar te zwijgen over de stappen die zij individueel hebben gemaakt gedurende deze weken. I spent today refining the REDCap survey I created for our study. I love how user friendly it is! I literally learnt on the job. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover it has some built in measures?? So cool. I also recently discovered photo voice, you can read all about it in slide 2. I wish more social science studies used this methodology because I for one, believe a picture says a thousand words, as cliche as that sounds. Grazie alla spinta di Community Hackers Italia abbiamo lanciato Obiettivo Comune: workshop fotografico. Quella che era rimasta un’idea nel cassetto ha preso forma in pochi giorni. Come sempre, da soli si può fare ben poco, ma quando trovi persone che credono realmente nella collaborazione riesci a trovare il codice di hackeraggio della tua città. Così, il nostro percorso ha avuto inizio. ✨ Dopo una bella accoglienza al Comune di Battipaglia con la ViceSindaco Maria Gabriella Catarozzo, Angela Ventriglia (Consigliere e Assessore alle Politiche Giovanili) e Carmen Picciariello abbiamo visitato il palazzo comunale e il rifugio antiaereo. Qui il concetto di 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 ci ha ricordato quanto sia importante recuperare la nostre tracce. La nostra esplorazione ci ha portato poi verso l’Albero delle Identità, mosaico posizionato vicino alla nostra stazione e frutto del lavoro di studenti e cittadini convolti dall’ IIS “Enzo Ferrari” con HAPPY Coaching and Counseling. Una tappa che ci ha permesso di riflettere insieme sull’𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗮̀ personale e collettiva e di immaginare nuove soluzioni d’uso per quel luogo. Dopo qualche tappa veloce, siamo giunti a Via Olevano. Ad aspettarci, Angelo Alessio Presidente del Circolo Arci Levante. Con il loro progetto di #photovoice stanno riscoprendo le specificità del quartiere. Non a caso, gli scatti prodotti durante la giornata contribuiranno al progetto “Visioni in Azione”. Dopo pochi passi, il Mercatino Giornaliero, dove siamo riusciti a catturare il cuore produttivo della nostra città. Art is such a powerful tool for expression, communication, and social change. It transcends language and culture and speaks to the shared experiences of humanity. Thank you to Northwood High School student Lauryn for establishing the Focus 2024 Photo Exhibition, demonstrating remarkable initiative and leadership and empowering other students to tell their stories. I also want to offer my heartfelt appreciation to each of the IUSD students who shared their work for this exhibition.
