The fabric of her Hobbs dress was simply stunning! Embellished with 3D embroidered blossoms - so tactile & just gorgeous! 💗 I knew instantly that I wanted to re-create those same flowers for Valerie's hat! Below are some photos of the process of hand-making each delicate cherry blossom flower, before constructing the bespoke black 'branches' to embellish her hat. Upon arriving in the town of Chorley, I was greeted with this sign plastered across the bus station in big, thick, black letters: "𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 - 𝗔 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀".🤲🤝 I knew then that I had come to the right place and it was a great start to my exploration of this small, northern market town. And in all honesty, that's exactly how my two days spent there felt. A place that made me feel so welcome and I'm truly grateful to all the people I met there.🙏🏼💫💝 During the 1970s, Chorley had an array of factory chimneys which pretty much dominated the skyline. Parts of Morrisons' chimney and mill buildings can still be seen today as well as some streets of terraced houses where the workers would have resided. 🏘 As I walked through the town of today, I couldn't help but notice the amount of churches that dot this small town. My favourite one is: St Laurence's Church which dates as far back as 1362. The tower which instantly, caught my attention when I first saw it, dates from the 15th century.⛪️ All in all, I had an amazing time in Chorley and take home with me many beautiful memories. Time to revisit the rolls of artwork stored in my studio. Some don't need any alterations. Storm lilies with ceramic vase is an example. This one improved with time away, I knew it was ok but now I can appreciate its quietness. I have included my mono print plate. 🗓27.04.2024 🏟 Sportpark Rotkreuz 🚩Rotkreuz🇨🇭 🏆1. Liga / Gruppe 2 ⚽️FC Rotkreuz - FC Wohlen 🥅1:0 Das war so ziemlich die unnötigste Niederlage, die ich jemals beim #FCW erlebt habe. In der 6. Minute landet ein Rückpass von Pnishi im eigenen Tor, weil sich Künzli eigentlich richtig neben dem Tor postiert, Pnishi die Kugel aber volkommen verrutscht und ins eigene Tor trudelt. Und das wars dann auch schon an "Offensive" von den Gastgebern. Da kam nämlich über 90 Minuten so gut wie gar nichts, während sich der FCW besonders im zweiten Durchgang einige Hochkaräter erspielt, aber keine davon nutzen kann. Und dann geht es eben leider ohne Punkte nach Hause. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Punkte den Rotkreuzern beim Aufstieg helfen. Absolution~ ~ ~ ~ To recreate these old pictures of mine has been an interesting journey, to see where I was all but 5 years ago vs now fills me with a somber sense of progress. I had so many ideas that I just put to paper without a care in the world but now I find myself revisiting the past for inspiration.. Do I lack the imagination I once had? Or has my life become so full of distractions that I find it hard to let my creativity flow? Whatever the case may be, I really feel like recreating this piece was a form of absolution for me.
