And it’s honestly sad, that’s it’s taken me so long into my adult life to find some sort of comfort in my own skin. I’ve seen both extremes of the scale and I can say that, I’ve been OK with the size I am for a little while now. But I should have been OK, much longer ago. But, that’s a story for another day. I spent a lot of time setting unrealistic goals and standards to hold myself to… Trying to be small and to obtain body that I once had - which obtaining again would be both unrealistic and probably unhealthy. If I could have wrote a letter, to my 16 year old self… I would have told myself to love myself then. And that your body will change a lot over time. That obsessing over a number on the scale will get old. And that you will eventually wear clothes in double digits, so get over yourself now. Childbirth will wreck your body even more, but it’s so worth it. Wear sun screen sooner than later, you’d appreciate it in your 30’s when wrinkles start to show on your face. And I’m sure there’s more, but that’s the highlights. As a child I was blessed to have my great-grandma (my Granny) in my life. She would come and stay with us and I can remember her curling my hair with pink foam rollers at night so I could look like her at bedtime. Does anyone else have a memory with those rollers?
