I'm so stoked to announce I booked the new film SPLIT!! Family Jewels. This script reminds me of the 80s classic films Stand by me meets Goonies. Even the cover art pays homage to 80s box cover artwork. If you look closely they added my character to the poster (top left) The locations are reminiscent to a John Hughes film. Mit meinem ältesten Sohn zusammen habe ich einige meiner Lieblingsfilme aus meiner eigenen Kindheit angesehen. Es war schön seine Reaktion auf die Zurück in die Zukunt Trilogie und Stand by me zu sehen und hat mich gute 30 - 35 Kahre zurück geworfen. In eine Zeit in der ich Filme und deren erzählkünste lieben gelernt habe. Es erfüllt mich mit Stolz zu sehen, dass diese Liebe für Filme auch in meinem Sohn zu wachsen beginnt. Ich kann es kaum erwarten ihm mehr zu zeigen und das ganze zu wiederholen wenn mein jüngster alt genug ist. 🇬🇧 it's been a while since my last Movie post. Long after the lights came up, the venue emptied out, the awesome crew cleared the stage and prepared for the next day, a few of us were just hanging out in the green room, decompressing and debriefing. We shared stories of nervousness (how AMAZING was Kasey’s piano solo by the way!! 🤩), gratitude, joy, and perseverance (how about a HUGE congrats to our musical director and trombonist, Carl, on winning a position in the U.S. Navy’s premier jazz ensemble! 👏👏) These quiet moments with my bandmates after the show are some of my favorite. Brett, Jeanette, and I shared with them all of the kind words that you shared with us in the lobby. ❤️ Our third performance at @fergusoncenterforthearts was just as special as the last two and, as always, that is thanks to our incredible friends that continue to bring your love, support, and new friends! It was so cool to hear from so many friends that told us they were bringing first timers! 😍 I can’t tell you how much that means to us! Just as special was seeing so many friends that have been with us since the very beginning… from the corner of a restaurant all those years ago to our third show at the Ferguson Center… you have been by our side. ❤️ In those quiet moments after the show last night, Brett once again shared that it’s just such a pleasure to play music with dear friends and do our small part in spreading a little joy. You truly never know who may have needed a bit of joy that evening. 🙏 It’s something that not one of us takes for granted. Isn’t it pretty awesome the way it all works together? ‘Stand By Me’ is the definitive coming-of-age movie, which I had the fortune to watch as I was coming of age. I have never seen a film that visually articulates ‘nostalgia’ in such a visceral way. After watching it, you can’t help but feel an overwhelming longing for the days of innocence, when you played with friends, and you were less cynical about the world. I also think it’s the best Stephen King movie adaptation—a bold statement I know, considering it contends with the likes of ‘Carrie,’ ‘The Shining’, ‘The Running Man’, ‘Pet Sematary, ‘Misery,’ ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘The Green Mile’, and ‘IT’, to name just a few. Also, when director Rob Reiner first screened ‘Stand By Me’ for Stephen King, he noticed that King was visibly shaken and at a loss for words. King momentarily left the room, and upon his return, he told Reiner that the film was the best adaptation of his work he had ever seen. Did you know the leech scene actually happened to Stephen King when he was younger? Also, contrary to the movie, I believe he had several friends who died young. I’m sure that sort of trauma must have helped forge the foundations of his vivid imagination. What’s your favourite Stephen King film adaptation?
