[Japon - île de Naoshima] Après la nature sur l'île de Shikoku, place à l'art sur l'île de Naoshima. Nous avons enfourché nos vélos (électriques) pour partir à la découverte des différents lieux artistiques de la partie sud de l'île. [Japon - Hiroshima, île d'Honshu] Après notre bref passage à Nagoya, nous embarquons à bord du fameux Shinkansen, direction Hiroshima. Notre première impression en arrivant dans cette ville: un silence et un calme règne ici, c'est frappant. Ou peut-être est-ce juste nos pensées qui ne peuvent oublier les événements de 1945 et impriment une atmosphère particulière au lieu. Notre première visite sera d'ailleurs consacrée au musée du mémorial de la Paix, visite poignante et éprouvante mais indispensable selon nous. On marchera ensuite jusqu'au dôme, en silence et plongés dans nos pensées. Il nous faudra un petit peu de temps avant de reprendre la direction des lieux animés et pleins de vie pour y trouver un restaurant et déguster la spécialité du coin: l'okonomiyaki (5ème photo). Notre 2ème jours sera consacré à la visite du château et son allée de cerisiers en fleur ainsi qu'à une journée shopping, les magasins de 2nd mains pullulent au Japon! Wir haben die Lagune auf dem Kraterrand umrundet und die 14 Kilometer lange Wanderung zusammen mit unserem Freund Andreas sehr genossen. Die Bewegung tat gut, die Wandersaison kann starten 🥾🙂. . . 🇬🇧 There are about 55 volcanoes in Ecuador. The Cuicocha volcano is one of them and is located in the northern Andes of Ecuador. In Palmitopamba wurden wir beim Dorfeingang herzlich vom Mangoverkäufer und seinen Freunden empfangen 🥳. Spontan haben wir uns dann entschlossen, mitten auf dem Dorfplatz des kleinen Dorfes zu übernachten und dem Samstag-Abend Programm zuzuschauen 🙂. Einige besuchten die Kirche, nebenan spielten die Jungs Volleyball und viele Familien und Jugendliche begegneten sich auf dem Dorfplatz, quatschten oder hörten Musik 🎶. Und das alles zum Nulltarif. Hier können sich die Menschen keine teuren Samstagabend-Unterhaltungen leisten... und sie haben trotzdem Spass 🤔. . . 🇬🇧 Since Argentina, we haven't seen so many smiling and cheerful people as here in Ecuador. In Palmitopamba, we were warmly welcomed at the village entrance by the mango seller and his friends 🥳. We spontaneously decided to spend the night in the middle of the village square and watch the Saturday evening program 🙂. Some went to church, the boys played volleyball next door and many families and young people met in the village square, chatted or listened to music 🎶. And all of this for free. [Japon - Villages de Shirakawa-go et Narai, île d'Honshu] 2ème et dernier jour de notre roadtrip avec les copains dans les préfectures de Gifu et Nagano. Aujourd'hui la météo est un peu moins avec nous mais il nous en faut plus pour nous décourager. Nous commençons notre visite par le village historique de Shirakawa-go, célèbre pour ses maisons en bois au toit de chaume. Les 2 ingénieurs que nous sommes n'en finissent pas de s'émerveiller des techniques de constructions incroyables. Aucun clou, tout est maintenu soit par des cordages soit à l'aide de techniques de charpente spécifiques. San Sebastián Donostia - One of my closest college friends lives there and just had a little girl, we wanted to meet the little bean. Being in Biarritz we were 40 minutes away so we added two days to our vacation and headed down quickly. We got rain which was a shame but the hubs got to surf. Beautiful city on the ocean with great shopping. Spain is tax free and where Zara originated. Needless to say I may have spent two hours in the Zara store enjoying the incredible choice and the prices which were about twenty euros less than Switzerland. One more city added to our list, now it’s time to go ‘home’ to Switzerland.
Coastal ‘shenanigans’ of the last two days. Cala Pi (in the first photos) with the photogenic boathouses was the start of a great cliff hike. Its beach can only be reached by quite a bit more than a hundred steps (lost count somewhere on the way 🥵) … quite a feat on very hot summer days. Temps have practically doubled since we arrived and were hovering just below 30 degrees Celsius. 😎☀️ Today the wind has picked up though and the skies are pale … thunderstorms might be on the horizon and temperatures are forecast to take a big drop as of tomorrow. Will still make the best of the today’s remaining warmth then. Did you get some sunshine as well? 📍Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona 🌴🇨🇴 Le parc national Tayrona fait à coup sûr partie des lieux les plus visités de Colombie. [Japon - Nagano, île d'Honshu] Cela fait maintenant une semaine que nous sommes dans la préfecture de Nagano pour notre Workaway oùnous aidons un couple d'australien/kiwi à renover une maison. Notre planning est rythmé par la météo puisque nos hôtes profitent des dernières belles journées pour skier. De notre côté nous partons découvrir Nagano et sa région durant 2 jours en compagnie de notre pote Ludovic, un autre franco-belge également en workaway avec nous. Nous passons une journée à déambuler dans la ville, plutôt agréable puis, lors du 2ème jour, nous rendons visite à des singes fan de Onsen, les bains chaud japonais (les singes aussi y vont à poil, enfin pas dans le même sens du terme que pour les humains 😜). Nous passerons le reste de la journée à découvrir plusieurs temples cachés dans une forêt sur le flanc d'une colline. [Japon - Furano, île d'Hokkaido] De la neige, encore de la neige, toujours de la neige!Vous en avez pas marre un peu de toute cette neige vous ?!?! Figurez-vous que pas du tout! On s'est gavé de poudreuse (oula, c'est bizarre dit comme ca ! Mais c'était de la bonne, on vous l'assure 🤣) durant nos 3 jours de ski à Furano, puisque c'était normalement nos derniers jours de ski. Der Mechaniker in Huaraz meinte, die Lenkköpfe und die Lenkstange müssten ersetzt werden. Da der Preis für diese Ersatzteile in Peru etwa 4x so hoch ist wie in der Schweiz beschlossen wir, in Ecuador nach den Ersatzteilen zu suchen. Und wir sind fündig geworden. Bei @gtautorepuestos haben wir die Ersatzteile zu einem vernünftigen Preis gefunden. Der Mechaniker hat sich unsere Lenkköpfe angeschaut und meinte, dass das Knacken eine andere Ursache hätte. Es war nur die Koppelstange los. Piccolo hatte nur eine Schraube locker 🙈🤣. Nach 15 Minuten war diese angezogen und wir haben viel Geld gespart 😃👌. Bei GT Autorepuestos fanden wir dann auch eine grosse Auswahl an Ersatzteilen von @febi.bilstein für unseren VW T5. Wir haben gleich alle Sensoren ausgetauscht und hoffen, dass sich unser Problem mit dem Notlauf nun endgültig erledigt hat 😬✊️. . The mechanic in Huaraz said the steering heads and the steering rod needed to be replaced. Since the price for these spare parts in Peru is about 4 times higher than in Switzerland, we decided to look for the spare parts in Ecuador. And we found them. We found them at @gtautorepuestos for a reasonable price. The mechanic looked at our steering heads and said that the cracking had another cause. It was just the coupling rod that was loose. Piccolo only had a screw loose 🙈🤣. After 15 minutes the problem was solved and we saved a lot of money 😃👌. At GT Autorepuestos we also found a large selection of spare parts from @febi.bilstein for our VW T5.
