In March, I had the pleasure of photographing Leah's lovely family of 5 and their 2 pups. Leah's mom, Alexis had asked for me to photograph their family reunion by the beloved Brooklyn Bridge. Although it was a bit cold and drizzly, there is so much warmth in these photographs. I learned that imperfect weather doesn’t have to stop a portrait session. The subtle tones and soft light were actually very flattering on their faces. Over the years, I’ve learned to work quickly and get as many pictures done in a short amount of time. We also went indoors for a few shots, and warmed our fingers and toes. I also learned a bit of sign language by the Manhattan bridge 🤟🏻 Happy Mother's Day, Alexis. Sobald ich die Wohnungstür öffne, bin ich wieder ganz Mama. Eben war ich noch Wissenschaftlerin, Dozentin, Kollegin. Auf der Fahrt habe ich mir Gedanken zu einem Paper oder einer Note gemacht. Doch mit den Schuhen streife ich das alles ab. Ich höre den kleinen Löwen meinen Namen rufen, sehe das Baby die Arme ausstrecken. Oft habe ich den Schlüssel noch in der Hand, doch ich bin jetzt hier. Nehme in den Arm, höre zu. Und lasse mir von meiner Tochter ihre Welt erklären. Bis abends alle drei schlafen und ich mich wieder auf Emails, Tabellen und Texte konzentrieren kann. Muss. Es fordert viel. Disziplin, Kompromissbereitschaft, Planung. Abends arbeiten, samstags arbeiten. Und gleichzeitig ermöglicht es viel, vor allem die Momente im Hier und Jetzt zu erleben, während die drei noch so klein sind. Mein letzter Beitrag ist einfach schon so lange her und war über unseren Sohn, als er zum Schüleraustausch in Brasilien war 🇧🇷 Jetzt im April war es einfach wieder so weit und 22 brasilianische Kinder von der @deutscheschulecuritiba machten sich auf den Weg zu uns. Auch dieses Mal durfte ein elfjähriger Junge bei uns wohnen und das Leben in Deutschland kennenlernen. Wir haben viel unternommen in der Zeit, Autostadt Wolfsburg, bei den Ehrlich Brothers waren wir, im Harz im Bergwerk und auf einer Hängebrücke, bei einer Konfirmation… Es ist einfach eine tolle Erfahrung einem fremden Kind für eine gewisse Zeit ein Zuhause geben zu dürfen ❤️ Danke an die brasilianischen Eltern für euer Vertrauen 🙏❤️ Habt ihr oder eure Kinder schon mal an einem Schüleraustausch teilgenommen? I’m abit late with this as I usually do it on a Friday. With being so busy and working so much I’ve not had the time. My total spends were high but this included shoes and a tracksuit for the middle child. I didn’t do a food shop on Friday due to working but I did get a Tesco voucher via Jam Doughnut so my husband used that if we needed anything. I had £45 left of that so that was used towards my shopping today. We have also purchased a new garden set for the garden which isn’t included in this price. We were going to buy it anyway as we spend a lot of time in the garden so we were happy to spend this money. Some of the money did come out of the loan money we are sending back but it’s no big deal, I’m still aiming to be debt free by the end of the year. No money was made on vinted and I also didn’t list anything. I did cash out my first survey. I also had a rewards voucher for Tesco of £7 so this was used also. After tomorrow i am off so I am going get myself more organised. I’m really looking forward to some time off. Second round of Dig Deeper, week 6! Top photos were in Jan and bottom photos are today! I could go on and on about this program, the nutrition programs, growth day and my community.. I’ve truly fallen in love with all of it. When you stop focusing on how much your scale reads back to you and use this as an entire lifestyle change, you’re going to see better results!! I only began this journey to try and work out and hopefully eat better… hahaha I didn’t get that at all. I got a community of women who are sharing the exact same struggles! Turns out I wasn’t alone! I fell in love with a workout program.. me! I love a work out program. Those words would have never crossed my mind in December. The nutrition has been a HUGE help. I can focus on my food being my fuel! Each meal and snack has a purpose in its roll for my day. I have never felt like I’m starving myself or on some crazy restrictive diet. I still enjoy treats but it’s so much easier to have discipline about it and having my shake there’s so many extra recipes to turn that into a healthy treat that actually tastes good!!
