We have been told for so long that the economy has to run a certain way. I believe we can move past this traditional way of thinking and place people and the planet at the core of the economy. It is time the economy was up to us. 📚 What is something you want to learn more about this year? I love to learn how people are inspired into action. Two sides co-exist for action to take place. One side is how we show up as an individual when we present, speak, and connect with people, both in person and virtually. This year I want to continue to learn how I show up as my truest, most authentic self. The second side is at the exact moment when a person is seeking to figure out what to do to solve a problem or be inspired to change. NỖI ÁM ẢNH SỐ ĐO 76-56-81 Trong ngành công nghiệp thời trang, để được sải bước trên những sàn catwalk lớn, có một quy tắc ngầm về tiêu chuẩn số đo ba vòng mà nhiều người mẫu phải đồng ý đánh đổi để đưa cơ thể về đúng tỉ lệ được yêu cầu. Đằng sau hào quang trên sân khấu, những cô nàng chân dài phải chấp nhận những luật lệ vô cùng khắc nghiệt. Xu hướng người mẫu “siêu mảnh” bắt đầu vào những năm 60 của thế kỉ trước, sau sự xuất hiện của chân dài huyền thoại Twiggy - biểu tượng của làng thời trang Anh, chỉ nặng 41kg và cao 1,68m. Từ thập niên 1990, sau khi Calvin Klein phát động chiến dịch quảng cáo với hình ảnh siêu mẫu Kate Moss, 1 trong 6 siêu mẫu huyền thoại thế giới, việc sử dụng người mẫu size 0 nhanh chóng trở nên phổ biến và thậm chí nở rộ thành trào lưu trong ngành công nghiệp thời trang. Ở thời điểm đó, Kate Moss gây tranh cãi khi đi đầu xu thế “heroin chic” với thân hình gầy gò, làn da xanh xao, và đặc biệt là tỷ lệ quần áo size 0 (76-56-81) của Kate cũng được xem là tiêu chuẩn. Dù ngay trong thời gian ấy, báo chí và dư luận đã lên án kịch liệt và cho đó là một “xu thế vô đạo đức”, nhưng các nhà thiết kế vẫn vô cùng thích thú và dần cho đây là tiêu chuẩn để đánh giá người mẫu. Với các nhà thiết kế, bản chất người mẫu chỉ là “chiếc móc di động”, nhiệm vụ của họ là tôn lên trang phục. Bên cạnh đó, tạp chí Glamour nhận định rằng đó là vì các nhà thiết kế sợ đế chế siêu mẫu sẽ quay trở lại. Nếu các siêu mẫu nổi tiếng và quyến rũ nhờ 3 vòng gợi cảm, họ sẽ dùng chính quyền lực này để yêu cầu nhiều lợi ích, chi phối sự chú ý của khán giả vào người mẫu thay vì trang phục. Vậy là, từ đó “làn sóng” người mẫu gầy bắt đầu tràn ngập sàn catwalk tại khắp kinh đô thời trang lớn như Paris, Milan, London, và cả nhiều nhà mốt như Mario Boselli, Yves Saint Laurent,… cũng hưởng ứng phong trào này.
