It's Five years ago today since we ran this Event on the rooftop of The Chen in Box Hill. We were only allowed 70 women and had a waitlist of over 500, so if you were there, you were lucky! We really took a leap of faith pulling this together, as the Chen had not run an Event on the rooftop before, (and still don't) so I had to get a liquor licence and bring all the alcohol myself, organise a DJ, food, security, insurance, helpers and more. My husband and Pete Stapelfeldt were the barmen on the night and what a fabulous job they did! Suwani Kananke designed and styled the Event with the colours of a Sunset which was perfect on the night. @lombardpartyandevents Lombard Nunawading did an incredible job with the balloon garlands and we are forever thankful to The Chen for allowing us to use this space. It was such a spectacular night with so many connections made in business as well as new friendships. Thank you for coming to our Events and supporting us. Taking a trip down memory lane when once upon a time exactly 4 yrs ago today, and right before covid hit, we ran a fabulous Event on a cold evening on top of The Chen in Box Hill, when you could see the city of Melbourne from the rooftop. Will never forget and are forever thankful to the Chen for allowing us to hold 2 Events on their rooftop, and to Lombard Nunawading for supporting us with their stunning balloon garland. Thanks also to the beautiful Suwani for styling our Event. It was such a beautiful night with many connections made in business as well as new friendships. Artworks by Zhong Chen featured at The Chen Art Series Hotel 🏨 The art series hotels feature works by a single artist throughout the halls, rooms and foyer. Chen is a Chinese born, Australian artist whose work explores modern watercolour paintings with traditional Chinese calligraphy style line work. I loved exploring the hotel and finding different subjects in the artist’s works. Sometimes a bird was the iconic feature in a painting, other times you could turn a corner to find samurai figures in dramatic poses or women leaning femininely on cushions. The artwork was particularly colourful in the context of a hotel, where you expect the artwork to be unimaginative and unobtrusive to the guest.
