178 today. I fubarred my shoulder at the beginning of the year and was too stubborn to take it easy. It has decided to let me know it is not happy. Guess who has two thumbs and is taking it easy… And by “easy”, I simply mean modifying my routine to accommodate a wonky joint 😄 Like, actually acknowledge that ) I hurt it to START with by thinking I could go hard after time off 2) it IS injured in a manner that has to be “coddled” 3) admit that I screwed up, and 4) this getting old thing sucks 😢 (whose idea was that ANYway?) I’ve noticed it in other areas, too, and I don’t like it. It matters not my feelings on it. It’s reality, and I get to either work with that or continue to hurt myself. I choose option B. Today would have been mine and Steve’s 35th wedding anniversary. As I reflect on my life, I think how blessed that I have been. Even through the storms, I prayed and He answered. Just looking at this picture sitting on the concrete steps has brought back some childhood memories. Almost every early Saturday morning the family including our brown spotted Dalmatian would climb in my dad's Ford station wagon to visit my grandparents and uncle in Chicago. The one rule was No Running In The House. I'm sure their were others my sister might remember. The big treat was lunch grandma served us with pizza slices from a neighborhood store and homemade angel food cake for dessert. When it was time to go home in the early afternoon grandpa would give us each a dollar. My Birthday was April 7th, but everything was so intense between earthquakes, eclipses , dance parties and a huge production job, that I’m only getting around to posting about it now!
