STRIKING THE BALANCE… I mean if there ever was a moment where my mama life was captured in all its purity and magic, Guy managed it; having cuddles with my eldest on the sofa and then the littlest wants in for a feed… How bloody special and beautiful it felt to just have them both in my arms.🌞🫶🏻 So would you believe it, the reel I posted regarding not knowing how to work instagram lo and behold got the highest views/reach/interaction I’ve seen on here for a while!😑 So I’m not the only one… hooray!! We can all be clueless dinosaurs together!🦖😂 What I will say though is I had a fair amount of you DMing me to talk about how time consuming creating content is and how you’re struggling to find the balance and trying to not always be on your phone… I feel you mamas! I went from having that wonderful social media detox at the start of the year to then jumping in the deep end with it all again. Why? Well I guess I’m just testing the waters for when I’m officially off maternity leave in September but then on the flip side shouldn’t I really ought to be enjoying the last few months of being work free??🤔 I guess the only way around it is to plan and schedule my content when the kiddies aren’t around; school, nap times and bed times for me then.😵💫😴 There’s just not enough hours in the day! But it will mean my children see less of me with my face buried in my phone and more of a present mama. Swings and roundabouts. I think as long as you’re aware of where your energy is being spent, that’s the first step to adjusting stuff moving forward… Plus if it means I can have more moments like this, then yes please, absolutely! Cervix biopsy #26 happened today. Another month, another biopsy to test for rejection. Had these two cuties with me today. You would think by now I would be used to biopsy days but every time I’m still nervous about getting the biopsy done and then nervous until I get results from the biopsy. So biopsy is done and now we wait. After we left UAB from getting my biopsy done, I had some extreme throbbing upper jaw pain going on near my ears. We went home but shortly after I told Timmy there’s no way I can deal with this kind of pain. So off to urgent care we all went. I got sick with whatever him and Zari Grace had but I have no immune system from all the transplant meds and it’s just been wreaking havoc on my body. Thankfully there was no wait and we saw the doctor quickly. She asked me what has been going on and how long. Then she looks in my ears. When she looked in my right ear she said it was super angry looking and a bad ear infection. So sinus infection and a bad ear infection it is for me. Other than the bad stomach bug I had when I went home for Christmas, I really haven’t been sick since I had my transplant. The postpartum season has not been for the weak 😅 9 months pregnant to a year and a half postpartum. And yes, I'm still calling myself postpartum. The end of my pregnancy was not easy in the slightest. Severe pre eclampsia -> bedrest. And when I tell you I swelled up like a balloon that is no sarcasm. I was active my entire pregnancy up until the bedrest point & still with all my complications and everything going on I put on 55 pounds 😅 and then with complications freshly postpartum it was hard to get back into a fitness groove again. I definitely was sucked into the "bounce back" culture and thought once I delivered things would be right back easy and I would lose weight like nothing and for me that was not the case. I still a year and a half later have about 6 pounds to go before hitting my pre pregnancy weight. 🤷🏻♀️ and I'm here to say that "bounce back" culture is bullshit because it's HARD. My postpartum wellness journey has been completely possible because I've had the resources to do it completely at home. From the programs to the accountability I wouldn't be where I'm at so far! Phew, today and the past couple days have been a dayyyy😩 have you ever heard the phrase, when it rains it pours? * The AC/heat is messed up in our house. * My refrigerator (that I only got in 2021) is all of a sudden not cooling. * I had to take a 24 hour test for the doctors to make sure some medical things are okay. I was so overwhelmed and emotional lastnight and this morning. it doesn’t help that pregnancy hormones are running high too. I spent the morning on the phone with companies to only be told that “we don’t work on LG fridges and I’m pretty sure no one else in the lower state does either.” Cue more frustration. Oh and now I have to take my test across the bay to drop it off because there isn’t a place to drop it off where I live. I say this because I could’ve easily just threw in the towel today and let that ruin my day. I could’ve just decided I’m going to start fresh tomorrow. The old me would’ve. The old me who didn’t have the tools in the tool box she does now, would have. Even though these inconveniences are all happening at once. Even though it is frustrating, overwhelming, and exhausting. I am still showing up for my business, showing up for my team, showing up for my personal goals, showing up for ME. This is all fixable. This all has a solution. All that matter is that I find those solutions. My family is great. I am still in good spirits and I am still working on my goals and ME 🤩 Keep working on YOU, keep moving FORWARD, you can get through this. It might be hard, but you can do it. I believe in you. We started with some fun at Immersive Gamebox, enjoyed a great lunch, and then wrapped up at Pyrmont Bay Park for the Maho Magic Bar—an amazing show direct from Japan, running until 16 June 2024. Welcome to our family, Rosie! The past year has been hard. Lots of loss and challenges. Since Lola passed, Charley has been struggling. She missed the comfort Lola provided for her when her blood sugars were low or high and she wasn’t feeling well. We did our research on service dogs. Did you know that diabetic alert dogs are over $20,000? We met this sweet girl and Jeremy and I instantly felt a connection and fell in love. She will not be a service dog but we’re doing our research and will begin training her to alert us when Charley’s sugar is too low or high. Night time is scary. Charley has unaware hypoglycemia when she’s sleeping. Jeremy and I have both slept through Charley’s low alarms in the middle of the night and it’ll be so nice to eventually have peace and comfort knowing this sweet girl may be able to help wake Charley and alert us when she is low.
