So we removed the hideous stock headboard from the master bedroom but now what? It ripped a bit off the wall so we were thinking a wooden treatment overtop would be best to smooth it out. However, I want to jazz this spot up a bit and don’t want to have to do a lot calculating and labor to achieve a spicy look. So, I’ve decided to just do a peel and stick wallpaper and put a new piece of lauan over the old so the wallpaper will be nice and smooth and you won’t see that imperfection from the original headboard. Enter Amazon…and the myriad of wallpaper choices 😂 It can be crazy overwhelming. I’ve narrowed it down to a few, which one do you like best? Also, the cabinetry in this room is a super dark navy as shown in the last slide in case that helps. ⛵️⚓️🦜 Sailing Project Parrot UPDATE ⛵️⚓️🦜 SHORT: the story of the bathroom hatch LONG: in true boat reno style, the start of the actual bathroom has been delayed once again 🤣 We've always said that we'll do all the windows once we are somewhere warmer...however this bathroom one was just too bad (swipe to last pic to see just how bad it was 🙈) The rust pieces were literally falling off daily, and down onto the hull Graham is trying to prep ready for the floor to go in, starting the rust again on his freshly prepped paint there....so, the window had to come out to sort this 1st. This weekend we were able to give our ideas for custom cabinets for our kitchen 🥹🤍 Those measurements are sent out and we should have cabinets by the beginning of next month! I’ve been quiet the last two months. After discovering the exterior was developing a lot of water damage from rain we decided to pay someone to replace all the walls, trim and shutters. It cost more than we could afford putting us into debt and caused too much tension and anxiety to the point I fell out of love and couldn’t bare to look at her. It was so disheartening to lose a lot of the hard work I’d already put in but recently I’ve been binge watching videos on YouTube and I’m starting to feel motivated to get back into it. I’ll be painting the interior the same spinach pie. I had some green exterior paint left over from an old project but after doing the first coat I can’t stand it I’ve decided the exterior needs to be a dark plum/purple but I haven’t narrowed down the choices yet. Sadly our circumstances changed and I’m not even sure we will keep her. 1st picture: There was originally a ceiling above the kitchen, but we took it out to make the space bigger and the ceilings taller. IT MADE SUCH A DIFFERENCE! I wish I had a before picture to show y’all. #2. Windows added into the kitchen wall and into the bedroom made such a difference with the lighting!!! It makes it feel so open. ☁️ I teared up seeing the progress that’s been made so far. I see the Lord’s faithfulness so clearly on this home, and I know it’s because it’s been surrendered to Him. The very first before and after 😍 The old dormer window to the front had to be entirely replaced. There was a leak in the roof above it, and the window frame had completely rotted. I also got planning permission for a wider window with a condition that there were three equally-sized panes of glass (so that it’d be in-keeping with the neighbouring houses). The new windows are all from Munster Joinery and the new cladding and guttering was fitted by Cork Plastics. There is strong rubber membrane on the roof of the dormer (no more leaks 🙃), and new slates on the roof which again, had to match the other houses on the terrace in accordance with planning.
