TTC 7921 outside Kipling Station on route 900 Airport Express on July 3, 2022. TTC 4563 and 7975 at Neville Park Loop both operating on the 501 Queen towards Roncesvalles Loop on March 5, 2020. It's not too common to spot a streetcar and a replacement bus operating to the same destination, however prior the COVID-19 pandemic, Queensway Division ran 3 rush hour trippers on the 501 Queen to relieve heavy crowding on the streetcar route caused by a streetcar shortage. I don’t know how many of you managed to encounter this once in lifetime Celestial event. Cube House ~ Toronto "Irreal Ideals" (Gold & Silver Edition) Series A structure I thought I would probably not photograph because of the unkempt grounds, Toronto's Cube House has always sat alone with little attention from denizens and tourists alike. TTC/Metrolinx 6255 is photographed arriving at the Eglinton Crosstown LRT east test portal near Birchmount and Eglinton on May 31, 2021. At the time, the ECLRT was not connected through Yonge and Eglinton so testing trains that were to be used on the eastern section of the lone needed to be trucked from the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility near Mt Dennis. These cars were temporarily stored near Science Centre Station and were used to test the line between Laird and Rosemount Stations. TTC 1290 leaves Warden Station on route 902 Markham Rd Express on February 1, 2023. 1290 was retired today (3/26/24) as the engine crankcase and cylinders practically roasted themselves and caused a thermal event. TTC 1013 at Bloor Street West and Kennedy Avenue on route 71 Runnymede in March 2024. It is no longer as common to see these buses on routes other than the 35 Jane/935 Jane Express. TTC 1663 exiting Kennedy Station Drop-Off Platform on route 131 Nugget during a brief snowstorm on March 19, 2024. This unit is unique in the sense that it carries a powertrain module (Cummins ISB engine/AC traction motor/AC traction generator) and PCS (propulsion control system) from a 17-18xx unit. The 17-18xx order featured the an updated PCS unit and system, with the classification "G9", and the previous 15-16xx order that 1663 is part of features the "G7" system. TTC/Durham Region Transit 8656 is photographed in the west outdoor tracks at Eglinton Division in March 2024. 8656 is one of 10 86xx Novas loaned to Durham Region Transit following a major fire at Raleigh Garage that destroyed a storage bay and 20+ buses on August 17, 2023. These buses were immediately offered to DRT, and entered service on September 11, 2023, following operator training and several modifications. No 993 Queen St E 1 Version 1. Constructed in 1887 with the front three floor structure built in 1895, McCarten House is a mixed residential/commercial building at No 993 Queen St E in The Leslieville neighbourhood of Toronto Canada. Restored by Carl Stryg between 1985 and 2000, the building was listed as a Heritage Property by The City Of Toronto in 2005 and the lane on it's south side was renamed in Stryg's honor after his death in 2014. Original photography from 2021 using a Canon EOS RP body with a Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM Art lens. Blue Meets Red 🔵🔴 ------------------------------ TTC 1129 meets York Region Transit 2247 at Highway 407 Station, operating on the 935 Jane Express and the 320 Jane Express respectively. With the current strike at York University, buses from Pioneer Village Station have been diverting to Highway 407 Station as unioned TTC operators do not cross picket lines. TTC 8815 at Freshmeadow Drive and Don Mills Road operating on the 925 Don Mills Express on August 26, 2023. 8815 was built in July 2017 and delivered to Eglinton Division in December of the same year as part of an order of 342 buses to replace the 74-78xx Orion buses. TTC 8121 and 8083 about to part ways on Aukland Road outside Kipling Station on routes 112B West Mall and 40 Junction-Dundas West/49 Bloor West respectively on January 16, 2024. 8121 was built in 2010, and 8083 in 2007, however both could face retirement any day now with the scheduled replacement of the 80xx and the mechanical failure related retirements of the 81xx. The latter comes as a surprise since the original plan was for the 8100 series was not expected to retire until next year and was supposed to make up the majority of the fleet at Queensway Division, however, as their parts warranty has expired, any bus that experiences a major mechanical failure will be decommissioned.
