📍 Schuman Restaurant, Luxembourg City I have talked extensively in the past months about Brasserie Schuman, which, since the change of management, has slowly become one of my favorite places in the city center. The changes were not over, and recently the restaurant underwent further restyling - which involved not only the location and the menu but also the name, @schuman_luxembourg . The location now is much warmer, the formal tablecloths on the tables have disappeared, and the atmosphere is cozier. The menu is now focused on dishes to share, while there are still some valid, more substantial dishes if sharing is not your thing. I started with one of my favorites, the spicy Margarita, while Lena had a mocktail served with a shot of Sprite, like a real Porn Star Martini. We went for the sharing idea and ordered the lobster salad, the tuna fish with wasabi, the truffle rigatoni, and a portion of fries. While the waiter suggested upfront we could eventually have one more dish, I felt the quantity was perfect. All the dishes were tasty; I particularly liked the tuna and the lobster salad, but the pasta was also great, cooked al dente to perfection. We also decided to share a dessert, a chocolate soufflé served with raspberry sorbet. It was delicious and the perfect way to close the meal. With two rounds of drinks, we spent a total of 120 EUR, 60 EUR each, which was in line with the quality of the food (we had truffle and lobster) and the ambiance. While I didn't mind the previous settings of Schuman, I now see the place as much more affordable and convivial. Still perfect to meet friends. And I'm totally looking forward to the opening of the terrace. When I was in Luxembourg I made some hiking along the Mullerthal Trail. One day I hiked from Echternach to Consdorf (via Berdorf, Müllerthal, Scheissendëmpel and Konsdrefer Millen). It was a lovely hike, 25 km long. These photos are from the first part Echternach . Berdorf. In Consdorf I took the bus back to Echternach. Vandaag beetje over mijn krachten gegaan om toch maar het graf van de reus te zien... 😵 ben mezelf verschillende keren tegengekomen en dit omwille dat ik al bijna 14 dagen sukkel met een hardnekkige verkoudheid... toch zo koppig als ik ben wou ik deze wandeling kost wat kost doen en het was de moeite! RCL Hearts organised in September 2023 a very successful #fundraising event, "Colours of Japan: Nature, Design, Food," with Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL). With 229 registrations, we reached full capacity, and we collected 8000 euros for @arcus_asbl which means around 130 hours of animal assisted therapy for the kids and teenarges residing in the "Kannerhaiser". This sum added up to the 4500 euros collected for arcus t the previous year. During the evening, we explored the relationship between colour and nature to design and food in #japaneseculture , thanks to the conference of Prof. @rossellamenegazzo . We were also honored to host distinguished guests, including @paulettelenert , @yurikobackes, Tadahiro Matsubara, and @corinnecahen, who shared their valuable perspectives. Ernimmung vum Refuge gëtt et am Joer 1484 an duerno am Joer 1541. Am Dokument vun 1484 geet och Riets vun der Lag vum Refuge, « bei den Knodleren », beim Knuedler also, wat mat der haiteger Plaz iwwertenee stëmme kann. 1663 schéngt op der Plaz en neit Gebai fir d’Abtei St. Maximin gebaut ginn ze sinn, wéi eis al Ecksteng verroden. Den haitege Bau geet allerdéngs op de Bau vun 1751 zeréck, deen ënnert dem Abt Henri (Willibrord) Scheffer, no de Pläng am Barock-Stil vum Jean-Nicolas Steinmetz vum Entrepreneur Louis Hendel gebaut gouf.
