Something that has been so sweet since starting this church planting journey and saying yes to this call in 2020 has been the connections and community we have built of other pastors, leaders, and church planters that are walking a similar journey. 🤎Y’all this thing ain’t easy 😅This has been by far the hardest yes I have ever said to God but yet one of the most rewarding. 🙌🏻 I remember being in the passenger seat of this journey with Pastors and leaders and serving alongside them and it just continuously reminds me the importance of praying for your pastors and supporting them because this call can be treacherous, not just for them but for their families too. It’s no secret we’ve been having some postpartum struggles over at the Umanzor house. The last few weeks since Abigail arrived have been a mix of great joy and incredibly hard days. I’ve been battling postpartum anxiety and it’s been discouraging, disappointing, and at times, flat out scary. All I’ve wanted is for it to end. I’ve googled “when do you start to feel normal again after childbirth” a few too many times. Baby blues typically go away after two weeks, it said. Two weeks came and went. At a month, it’ll be better, I told myself. Last week marked a month of life for Abigail and it was one of my hardest. I’ve been looking ahead to some point when this battle will be over. Six weeks? Fourth trimester? And then last night, my husband spoke some very wise while hard to hear words to me. He said, “Emilee, maybe you need to stop asking God to end this battle and ask Him what He can teach you from it.” He went on to tell me that maybe I’m in the middle of this battle because someone else is in it too and we need each other to walk out together. Before that conversation last night, I was full of fear. Afterwards, I had peace. And I began worship the Lord as I laid down to sleep. There’s a lot of layers to this season—joy, grief, fear, love, medicine, counseling. And I don’t understand it all. But I trust the One who does. If you feel alone, remember you are not. Reach out to a friend or someone at church. Let’s stop playing this silly game of pretending like we’ve got it all together. Ain’t nobody got it all together. That’s why we need each other. If you feel alone, remember you are not. Immanuel is with you even when you don’t feel His Presence. And His love—His perfect love casts out all fear. #walkingitout

Labels are finally here. These will not be the permanent label nor name it’s only the beginning. I have a limited supply of Zephys vegan kimchi. Ready to fill, yet another farmstand. I’ll be making at least 10 gallons of BOTH kimchi and sauerkraut on the first day-Sunday, tomorrow. The messages are coming in asking where can I get my pint or order. I’ve got my day already filled…for the most part. As I sit by candle light on the ending of Sabbath, I have feelings of expected hope of what the future will hold with this little glass pint of goodness. It’s only the beginning. Good morning social media friends and family! So, about yesterday evening…So, I get home from work and I’m hyped for this little stroll with @iamkirstenferguson and this DELIBERATELY chosen Gospel Walk, when the class started buffering. I clearly became annoyed but…”Somebody say but! I noticed the class was still running in the background. I realized all of my metrics continued to move, increase as if the class never stopped. My output, pace, cadence, incline, resistance and distance were being measured. Ya’ll for 14 minutes and 24 seconds I walked on that treadmill in silence. Keva encouraged herself. I was walking but I was being still in those moments. The scripture, Psalm 46:10 came to mind. “Be still and know that I am God…” I say that to say, sometimes we want or think we need someone or something to push us through, get us through but it’s something about moving in silence and encouraging yourself. Knowing that as long as I’m moving I’m making progress, the “life” metrics are still moving, forward. So, move at your own pace and distance, establish a cadence of life that works for you, know when it’s time to increase or decrease resistance (say no to stuff and people) because you need a reset, refill and to just, “be still and know…”, so you can keep moving forward! ❤️🏃🏾♀️ #WalkingItOut #LiterallyAndFiguratively #TreadingWithIntention #TogetherWeGoFar @onepeloton #BeStillAndKnow #IntentionSetting #GospelWalk #EncourageYourself #ThursdayThoughts
