How is it the end of April already! The sun is actually shining today and I'm almost ready to ditch my coat. I'm embracing a deeper pallet than normal, I've been wanting to paint on coloured paper for a while. It's drinking up my inks though and I can't quite get the colour intensity that I want, but it's fun to try something different. Trying to keep a calm house at the moment, our eldest has got 15hrs of his BTEC music exam this week. He's quite a cool customer and seems to be taking everything in his stride. Right off to drink some green tea with lemon, I received a text from my GP last night to say there is an issue with my liver. More blood tests and a scan to follow, maybe it's time to get rid of it's pesky gallbladder neighbour! Yay it's Friday. ..are you weekend ready? Have you got anything exciting planned? I'm going to be balancing painting with chores, and then a treat out to the Vintage Textiles Fair on Sunday. Hello...I'm still here, just been a while since I've posted a little square. Just been working on something new and a bit different, what do you think? Do you like the mixed medium? February has started off with some beautiful mornings, waking up to a blanket of mist and then glorious sunny days. I hope we don't get the same freakishly mild weather we had in 2020, no need to say anymore about that! Our eldest has just had his mock A levels, so 🤞he's done ok. He pretty much keeps his head down and gets on with it. Just aswell as our youngest needs all the help he can get, or rather will accept. He's only had 2yrs to do his PE course work, but it was all hands on deck helping him last night. My poor husband has spent hours recording Waterpolo training and editing and the school is still moaning about it's not enough. Well we've certainly had enough and will be glad there's only 4 month of school left for us. Hey ho...hope you've got a relaxing weekend planned? Hello...2024 welcoming in the Year with this work in progress. It hasn't properly stopped raining for over a week, so I needed something bright to work on. Hope you've all had a lovely relaxing Christmas? We had a great time in Wales, despite the constant rain. Well hello May...Hope you're having a gorgeous Bank Holiday/ Monday for those of you not having a extra day off xx The weekend has been busy but blissful. I had a lovely trip to Green Walk. A great two day arts and crafts trail where people of Green Walk open up their homes to support local artists. I'm just grabbing 5mins now as teens are out, and hubby has gone to walk Ollie. He hates gardening so he's had to walk the dog whilst I potter about the garden. I'm mainly surveying the damage the said dog and squirrels have made during the winter months. I've planted up a few Viola but wonder why I'm supplying slugs food! Well hopefully a few of them will survive. I'm also planting up some Bee Bombs and Bee friendly plants. We don't get much sunshine in our garden so I'm really hoping these little plants can survive. Keep everything crossed for me. Right a quick cuppa before I go and give the ivy a tiny trim. But not too much as there are Blackbirds nesting in it. Hello November...Anyway else eating the leftover treats from last night? Just popped into Tesco's this morning to get some ingredients and they were busy stripping the shelves and filling them with Christmas stuff! Yikes.. Anyway I'm not going to think about that too much today. I'm having a painting and baking day. My baby is 15 today! He use to design his own birthday cake and then expect me to try and make it 🤣. But it's seems that phase is over and he doesn't want a cake this year. He's ordered some Anzac biscuits so I'll have to get a production line going as I always double up on the recipe. One batch is never enough. Happy Autumn Equinox...and what a beauty it is. We woke up to a blanket of fog which has burnt away to a glorious day. The steam was rising off the path in the park this morning, always fills me with wonder. The only down side will be the darker nights so I'll be snuggling down with a good book. Well after we've watched the new season of Ghosts which starts tonight 😀 there aren't that many programs when we'll all sit down and watch together but that is one of them. We loved Horrible Histories and it's probably why Ellis has chosen to do two History A levels. I'm hoping he will actually pick up a book or two now, having given up on books years ago. Maybe I can tempt him with a Hillary Mantel masterpieces, one of our best Historical novelist and I'm saddened to hear of her passing this week.
