As I mentioned in my last post my plan for the 'Patronus Print 2024' ended up being a design for a 5-colour print! To cut back on the amount of cutting (usually every colour needs a separate linoleum plate and printing round) I decided to make one plate with two colours, the one adding green and yellow. This way I had to cut 4 instead of 5 plates. It proved to be a very precise work because there was one little area where the two colours touched 😅 . А чтобы увидеть этих сказочных существ, достаточно съесть несколько цветочков примулы (они съедобны и по вкусу напоминают листья салата). По другому поверью, заснувший на посту апостол Петр случайно выронил ключи от ворот рая. Упали ключи на землю, и выросли из них изумительной красоты цветы — это и были примулы, которые с тех пор иногда зовут ключиками.

This path, lined with red woods and surrounded by birds song will soon be lined with foxglove, their velvety leaves starting to appear. Sunlight beams through the canopy to land like a spotlight on the woodland floor. Fern unfurling, almost ready to burst beside pine cones- perfect spiky domes that giants have thrown to the floor. Mossy trunks of trees stride through this path, their branches waving fresh new greenery to the sky. Bluebells and stitchwort sway as a robin, a wren and a blackbird trill. These are photos from a beautiful April wedding I did a couple of years ago - a joyful explosion of colour and spring. I didn’t post these at the time. Why? It was one of the most beautiful weddings and it brought me such joy to do it. Why didn’t I share these pictures? Many of you will know why - the worry of putting something out there that isn’t good enough, the worry of saying to strangers I think this is utterly lovely when they may scoff and think otherwise. With weddings the issue is also the fact that of course people will say no to you - potential clients, venues, will all say, no thank you, you are not for me. So unless you are standing very strongly in yourself and what you do and know you are absolutely doing your unique thing authentically then the risk is that you read it as ‘you are not good enough’. Which of course isn’t true at all but that’s the vulnerable spot that it hits sometimes. And so you whisper about your craft and service, put in a tentative toe, rather than confidently sharing what you believe to be beautiful. I understand this utterly and I am done whispering although I’ve a way to go before I’m a full throated roar - although to be fair I’m not a full throated roar sort of person - but I can help you if you are at the silent or whispering stage. 🦣🦣🦣 First 80k, stitching together the many footpaths I’ve already trodden with this ultra challenge. Sharing a very tired but proud pic of me from the early hours of Sunday morning when I was dead on my feet 🦶🏽keeping it real! I set a personal record of walk, trotting and sliding my way around the Shropshire way my hilliest single continual walk with an elevation gain of 9,600 ft⛰️ made even more brutal my the sheer amount of mud caused by all the rain we’ve been having! Pretty chuffed with my moving time of 15h.48m. 🏃🏽♀️🥾🦣 We couldn’t have asked for better weather for the first 25 miles that I enjoyed solo before picking up my pace people for the remaining 25 miles. The last 15 miles were spent battling through storm Kathleen and questioning my whole life choices through wind, rain and so much mud. Thankfully the group I was with were all supportive of each other with a shared priority of sticking together as we navigated into the night! 💫 These were dark times where I don’t think I’ve ever had to dig so deep towards achieving anything, the stars were incredible around Bury Ditches helping me to remain focused✨ Emotional and so relived to cross that finish line 🥹.
