Ta daa! Lol 😅 Going through thousands of files, bumping into these bad quality pictures of a top I made about 4 years ago... This has been machine washed numerous times, and I still think it looks good as new! The first time I put it in the washer, I was so scared it would come out completely ruined, but it didn't! I did use a laundry bag for delicates to keep it as safe as possible. I went in and re-sewed the entire waistband and hem of the skirt. My stitching was pretty messy before and I knew this skirt would get a lot more wear if I went in and did it again. Just popped here to say that I am still here and even I don’t have physical or mental capacity to crochet right now, I am still buying yarn and wearing my crocheted pieces. I wore #sultanahcardigan designed by @lacrochetterie today to visit one of the most beautiful places. The views are so amazing and feel unreal. Also, my outfit matches with the background 😄😄 The roads are bumpy, and it’s so difficult to even reach a beach. Maybe that’s the reason that the beaches are so so so amazing! I recently was lucky enough to go on a beautiful holiday to the Cayman Islands. Off the blocking mat 😊and getting worn for the first time on this chilly 🥶☀️Autumn morning walk. Made the sea glass tea with three quarter sleeves and staggered the change of colours as well I knitted the ends all in. Each colour I knitted for 2-3 rows. Made it cropped and fairly fitted to be worn with a longer camisole underneath and over dresses. Felt very slow as I knitted it as colours changed each stitch. Summer is almost over here so, in true Petra style, I made a little summer top. #ReynoldsTop is beautifully drafted and is perfect to use up any little pieces that are floating in the stash. And , I FINALLY deconstructed my unworn #ZWGatherDress. That dress carried lots of special memories for me but it didn’t feel like me anymore. And after months of avoiding it, I finally did it 🙌🏾. I hope the skirt gets worn a bit more & I still have some fabric to play with so I’m excited to see what it becomes in the future. . . Few skirt details ; as the width of the gathered skirt in the dress was so wide, I measured my favourite gathered dress to work out how wide I want it. I cut off the extra bit , re hemmed and added an elasticated waistband ( made from the chopped off bit). I also stitched down the button facing as I don’t want it open . And that’s it. . Making clothes/ talking about it/ taking photos still feels so frivolous when people are dyeing of hunger and bombs every day.. but it certainly makes my sensitive soul a bit better. I didn't follow a pattern for this knit, I just cast on some sport weight Merino yarn I was gifted and followed my heart. . 🧶 2023 Recap 🧶 I (very appropriately) finished 23 projects in 2023 and knit and crocheted almost 22,000 yards! 😳 It was a year of socks with 14 finished pairs, plus 4 sweaters/tops, 4 hats, 1 shawl, and 1 blanket. My favorite designer of the year was, unsurprisingly, @dreareneeknits with 8 FO’s being DRK patterns! Making goals for the upcoming year include more socks and sweaters, as I have lots of sock yarn and sweater quantities to use up. I would also love to finish at least 1 scrappy blanket. I'm not a skirt person. Dresses, yes. But skirts, I don't know why, but we never seem to get along much. And yet I made a skirt. A linen skirt, so maybe that helps. I couldn't help myself after seeing the wonderful skirt that my friend @gardenwarblers_diary made. So I dug into my fabric stash, found this linen that was once a dress, cut it to length, added elastic to the waist by just folding the top over, and voilà! And heck, I even think I like it 😃 Worn with my cotton #ranunculussweater (that makes everything look nice, to be honest).
