At low tide we can also look for some local sandbanks that only appear when the tides goes out. We will then return to the stables along the beach, walking and trotting. WALK & TROT ONLY No formal photoshoots are allowed. For everyone’s safety, when riding we require all riders to wear helmets, boots, and long trousers. When swimming, no long clothes that trail onto the horses back. Please note that our weight limit for riders is a maximum of 90 kilograms. A view of Deadvlei from Big Daddy’s summit. Big Daddy is the tallest dune in the Sossusvlei area and this magnificent dune is situated between Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. At 325 meters, it dwarfs the other dunes around it and summiting it comes hand in hand with some well earned bragging rights. The climb is quite difficult, as the dune sand is unforgiving. Depending on one’s fitness level you can summit anywhere between 1 to 2.5 hours. Multiple breaks to rest and take in the breathtaking views is something I’ll recommend. That said, don’t turn back!!!
