If you’re looking for gorgeous flowers that last for months and attract all the pollinators, then growing dahlias from seed is definitely something you should do! The beauty’s in the first photos were a fantastic feature in the garden last year, but when planting out, I placed them all randomly, and didn’t label them 🤦♀️. As they grow, they produce their own tubers which I lifted once they’d finished flowering, but had to label them by colour, as I had no names for them! So when potting on my seedlings yesterday, I tried to keep them in separate pots and clearly marked, so I know which is which. This year, I’m growing ‘bishops children’, whose seeds were kindly sent from @gardening.with.cara, ‘dwarf bloody Mary’, and cactus mix. I’ve also got last years pink, red and white tubers, which are already sprouting nicely, so I can’t wait for this years display.
