When a young grey seal decided to haul out on a busy bank holiday weekend beach while we were seawatching. We had to request BDMLR support to keep the seal and everyone safe. The seal had no idea we were above watching over, but was very aware of anyone on the beach. Ever wondered how sharp seal teeth are? Check out photo 3. Came across a little oasis today and saw a barn owl! 🦉 I’m so happy, I’ve never seen one before (irl) but by the time I realised what it was there was no time to take a picture. There were rabbits 🐇 , pheasant and deer 🦌 running around in the fields too. And so many birds 🦢. A nature lovers dream 💚 A gorgeous new find on the sunniest day in a long time. 📍 Staveley Nature Reserve HG5 9LQ Most of the paths were pushchairs friendly but there were some boggy areas. Also some cute plaques for brass rubbing which will help keep the kids entertained. When love is in the air.❤️ There are times you sit and watch nature mesmerised. These adult cygnets we have watched with their parents since small last year. At the weekend we were lucky enough to witness love in the air. I have dreamt of this moment and finally witnessed and managed to get a number of photos of the swan heart. ❤️ The light was not the best due to early fog and then lots high clouds hiding the sunshine. Today we visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust site of Potteric Carr near Doncaster. Located between railway lines and the M18 motorway it is a haven for wetland birds and also smaller garden birds. It’s also large enough to get a few miles in the legs visiting the various hides.
