SAM PECKINPAH LIMITED EDITION SETS @imprintfilms I love the erratic and violent nature of #SamPeckinpah’s oeuvre. Stylistically, for the time especially, Bloody Sam was very bold and far from the norm in terms of portraying violence and the editing. Although there were films and filmmakers beforehand that could have been influences, Peckinpah took it a step further. The intensity he brought to the screen was special then and remains so today. His style has been influential to the likes of John Woo as well as Scorsese. The style utilizes fast paced editing, lots of fake blood, and “discontinuity editing” for emphasis on a certain action can be seen plenty in the films of #JohnWoo and #MartinScorsese. #BringMeTheHeadOfAlfredoGarcia is a favorite of mine whilst #CrossOfIron will be a first time watch and upgrade from a standard Blu-ray. Cross of Iron is a 4k set with a special Grindhouse presentation version of the film. Alfredo Garcia is a Blu-ray set that comes with a Peckinpah documentary.
