Los geht's mit meinem heutigen Neuzugang: Tödliches Kommando - The Hurt Locker. Ich habe den Film bislang nur einmal vor zig Jahren gesehen. Aber ich habe ihn damals sehr gut gefunden. Mal schauen, wie es heute ist. Und ich muss sagen, ich finde ihn immer noch sehr gut. The Hurt Locker ist ein klasse Kriegsfilm, der unglaublich toll unterhält, unfassbar spannend ist, klasse praktische Action bietet, einen hervorragenden Cast präsentiert und absolut realitätsnah ist. Point Break - Kathryn Bigelow I can’t believe I’ve come this far in life and never seen a Keanu Reeve’s movie. It is simply a crime and I have luckily rectified the issue by watching Point Break - which is everything I wanted from a story of an FBI agent undercover in a surfer gang Keanu is the charming FBI guy you love straight away and the relationships he has with basically everyone in the film is perfect. You have the gruff older agent in charge of the new recruit, the love interest, and most importantly Patrick Swayze as the coolest LA surfer ever. The action scenes are well executed, there’s a wonderful chase through the streets which sees Keanu’s character Johnny drop kicking a dog which I’m sure John Wick wouldn’t approve of. The story progresses nicely from a slow infiltration of the surfing scene, to the obvious ‘falling in love with surfing and the cute surfer girl’ to the third act when Johnny finally realises Bodhi is behind the bank robberies and must catch him. It is very cheesy, but in the right way, you just have to love the cheese - how can you not appreciate a fight that results in Keanu launching himself from an aeroplane with no parachute just pure adrenaline? It does threaten to drag in the middle as you transition from undercover FBI story to full blown crime rampage/police chase. But it happily picks itself up. How Kathryn Bigelow battled for Keanu Reeves’ pivotal role: “I’m going to turn him into an action star” @faroutmagazine Nearly four decades after making his first film appearance in Peter Markle’s 1986 work Youngblood, Keanu Reeves remains one of Hollywood’s brightest acting heroes. Having traversed a wide range of genres, Reeves is considered one of the most bankable stars in action cinema. It wasn’t until Point Break and Speed, though, that Reeves was considered a viable option for an action movie, having previously extended his talents to comedy in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and independent drama in Gus Van Sant’s My Own Private Idaho. Before long, though, Reeves would go on to star in The Matrix, Constantine and John Wick. One cannot stress the importance of Reeves’ effort in Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 action movie Point Break, though. Widely considered one of the greatest action flicks ever made, Reeves stars as Johnny Utah, a young undercover FBI agent who is faced with uncovering the identities of a group of bank robbers. It so happens that the bank robbers are dedicated surfers by day, led by the enigmatic and spiritual Bodhi, played by Patrick Swayze. The film is dripping with absolute cool, with its intense action sequence, brilliant, almost cheesy dialogue, and the fact that both Reeves and Swayze are in a surfing action movie. Ridley Scott was first attached to the project, with Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen, and Val Kilmer all being considered to play Johnny Utah. I haven’t watched The Hurt Locker since it won the Oscar in 2010. I remember at the time being non-plussed by it. 14 years later & I can feel the heart ache in this film. Credo che molto sia radicato in una paura condivisa dalla mia generazione. Quella di tacciare i traguardi per non vantarsi. Altrimenti te la canti e te la suoni. E non va bene. Postare questa foto mi è costato tanto, perché cliccare su “condividi” nella mia testa significava “vedi come ti vanti. Ma vola bas e schiva i sas”. Ciononostante, se la condivido è soprattutto per ringraziare chi ha creduto in me, realizzando quel sogno di un’Elisa diciassettenne di poter scrivere di cinema; Di potersi presentare come critica; E di non avere un euro, ma questi sono altri problemi. One of the unfortunate things about the internet is that while much highly sensitive stuff comes with a warning, sometimes you're exposed to images you just didn't want to see. I was just blasted with a pic of Patrick Swayze from his final days that was so sad it literally brought tears to my eyes. Swayze was a massive part of my teens/twenties. I took dates to "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost". And "Point Break" is, in my humble opinion, the greatest action movie ever made. This is an extremely important film... it's the moment a woman, the incredible Kathryn Bigelow, schooled a male dominated industry on HOW you make an action film. The high-octane thrills laced with spiritual metaphors and gorgeous cinematography has never been equalled. For those who enjoy Fast & Furious movies... Kathryn Bigelow paved the way. And while Keanu Reeves (who we all adore) is great as Johnny Utah, the epic linchpin and undeniable force to be reckoned with; the villain with an unfathomable soul and angels in his eyes... Patrick Swayze as Bodhi; the man who robs banks to fund his mission to ride a surfboard directly into the mind of God. Fucking... fantastic. And taken way too young. There's no way I would post the pic I saw, no matter how many views it would probably get. I don't recommend you look for it. Let's just remember the man and legend as he was.
