So many opinions, theologies, denominations, and traditions separate believers from one another. Especially when we’ve been raised within Christian households, we can be so quick to notice the “unbiblical” parts of a person or our differences with other believers that we forget to look at people the way God does. (1 Samuel 16:7) This revelation saddens me because I know the Lord loves nothing more than His children coming together to worship His name in unity and love! So, how do we bring change? As I continued my study of John this month, I noticed how Yeshua spoke, interacted, and dwelt among the people. Everything He did, even when He confronted people about their sins, was done with humility and grace. No one is greater or less than in the Kingdom of God; Yeshua showed us this when He knelt to wash His disciples’ feet during the Last Supper. (John 13:1-17) Unfortunately, we have made a bad habit of putting people (or ourselves) on pedestals like they possess something more than our fellow believers. We are so tangled in the technicalities of things that we think “standing out” and isolating ourselves from those who preach or believe differently from us will make Yeshua’s light shine brighter, but it actually becomes a hindrance. ”I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” ~ John 13:15-16 NIV No matter your beliefs, Yeshua’s time on earth taught us that walking in His ways leads to grace and freedom. When we tether ourselves to HIM rather than religion or man’s teachings, our ears are open to those crying out to God for deliverance. So, rather than focusing on what we disagree on, I believe that by returning to the foundation of our faith and asking God to help us see through His eyes, we’ll restore the bridge separating us from one another. #inspiretruth #verseoftheday #bible #yeshua #jesus #washingfeetlikejesus #unity #love

When considering 2024 as the year of life, it’s easy to get swept away by the endless adventure and travel possibilities. However, it can also become a distraction or escape. Last month, my accountability group and I started studying the Gospel of John. There is so much packed into these chapters that we’ll have to go through it several times to retain everything. Nevertheless, the central theme of the devotion we’ve been following is God's timing and surrendering our lives to Him. Look at the story of Lazarus in John 11. His sisters, Mary and Martha, called Yeshua to heal their brother, but it seemed too late when He showed up. After reading this chapter, I love what our devotional said: “Maybe you’ve questioned Jesus’ timing. You knew exactly what He needed to show up and what He needed to do, but it didn’t work out the way you had planned. Even when we don’t understand, He can be trusted.” As the Lord declares in Isaiah 55:8, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways.” I don’t want to be rash like Mary and Martha wanted Yeshua to be. They hoped He would rush to Lazarus’ sick bed and heal their brother, but sometimes, we must wait so Yeshua’s work can truly shine. Yeshua had healed the sick in the past, but this was the first time He raised the dead, foreshadowing His resurrection. If He hadn’t gone to Lazarus when He did, would Lazarus’ testimony be so profound, or Yeshua’s resurrection be believed? While I know God is with me wherever I go, I want my life to be a powerful testimony of His timing and guidance. So, plans are underway, but they are not happening as soon as I thought. Praise God for His patience and gentle teaching this month as I learned the importance of contentment and slowing my pace. Whether you’re feeling restless or waiting for God to answer your prayers, take heart. He hears you. He is with you. He will show up at the perfect time. Don’t stop serving Him and working on the things He’s given you to do. And when the doors open, don’t be afraid to take that leap of faith! He will be your light, guiding you into the next chapter of your story. #inspiretruth #wordofencouragement #bible #verseoftheday

Quote of the Day — “Prosperity knits a man to the World. He feels that he is ‘finding his place in it,’ while really it is finding its place in him.” ~ C.S. Lewis We all yearn to find stability and prosperity, but our place in this world is found solely in Yeshua/Jesus. Therefore, establish yourselves on the firm foundation of the Rock of Ages, shielding yourselves from the schemes of the enemy! While many dream of visiting Thailand for its breathtaking landscapes, delicious cuisine, and vibrant culture, my motivation stemmed from something deeper — a friendship forged through cyberspace. Five years ago, I “met” Soleil on Connilyn Cossette’s Facebook launch team, and over time, our conversations evolved into a sisterhood. Despite never meeting in person, Soleil became my closest friend, and last year, we vowed to finally meet in person, choosing Thailand because it was halfway between our locations — me in Israel and her in South Korea. Going on vacation while your country is at war evokes a whirlwind of emotions. There’s guilt for leaving, relief for the coming break, and anxiety for the possibility that you can’t return. However, despite the unpredictable situation, nothing would prevent me from boarding my flight to Thailand. This day had been a long time coming (cue Taylor Swift), and I was prepared to dodge as many missiles as it took to reach my destination. Our ten-day journey began in Chiang Mai, nestled in Thailand’s picturesque mountains, before culminating in the bustling streets of Bangkok. As I turned the pages of Angela Bell’s debut novel, A Lady’s Guide to Marvels and Misadventures, I was whisked away on a whirlwind adventure that combined the wonder of Around the World in Eighty Days, the wit of Pride and Prejudice and the charm of Doctor Doolittle. Beyond its invigorating scavenger hunt through Europe, this novel is a heartwarming tale of two unlikely allies embarking on a journey that will lead to unexpected discoveries and, most surprisingly, love. I adored A Lady’s Guide to Marvels and Misadventures! Not only do I have a new itinerary for my next trip to Europe, but as I reached the end of this story, I was left with a great sense of hope and peace that God has everything under control and will hold me up as I prepare for the next chapter of my story. Despite people’s whispers and opinions, A Lady’s Guide to Marvels and Misadventures taught me to embrace the person God created me to be, showcasing all my qualities no matter how quirky others might find them. Normal is boring, and I’d much rather be a part of the Stanton family than the Kingsley’s. 📾 Behind the Smile: The Truth Unveiled 🌟 This picture doesn’t tell the true story. This girl (me) was asked to motivate and inspire others as a guest speaker at an event—to build up others' self-confidence and to inspire. But the truth? This girl almost never went into the building as she struggled with self-doubt. Who was she to do this? "I am too old. I am too fat. I am not smart enough. I am not pretty enough. I don’t work hard enough." These are the lies she told herself. These are the lies that held her back. "We don’t rise to our dreams—we settle for what we feel we are worthy for." Jamie Kern Lima That girl ( me ) eventually went in to the room, held her head up high and told the truth.. that she was showing up inspite if her insecurities. She is not perfect. She doesn’t have all the answers, but she is DAMN sure she won’t give up. She has dreams!! She has made it her mission to make sure all women feel beautiful, brave and worthy. She will continue to show up What lies do you tell yourself? Share below. Let's break free from self-doubt together. 🌟 #BreakFreeFromLies #InspireTruth

💡In the past I would have only shared the first picture though it may be "inspiring" sharing that I'm writing a book đŸ€“đŸ“š...It can't truly inspire someone unless there's vulnerability and truth in it. The second picture shows what my desk really looks like right now and I didn't realize that my past, present, and future all sit there in front of me ...divorce papers, binder from the job i just got let go from and the notes for the book iv been putting off. If you're struggling behind-the-scenes you are not alone. I pray you seek help and share your struggles with someone you trust. It's never what we want to do but it's what we have to do. Throughout 2023, @tashalayton’s music frequently played during my daily jam sessions, delivering messages of hope, faith, encouragement, and joy. As I enjoyed Tasha’s songs, I dove into her book, Look What You’ve Done, a captivating testimony that explores the key moments of Tasha’s life that shaped her into the God-fearing woman she is today. Though written like a memoir, Look What You’ve Done reads more like a devotional. Tasha speaks directly to the reader with her writing and the thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter. Addressing topics like depression, calling, identity, listening to God’s voice, trusting God to answer our prayers, and stepping out of our comfort zone, each chapter was rich with life lessons that will minister to people’s hearts. đŸ™đŸŒ Dear Heavenly Father, My heart cries out to You. Since October 7th, ordinary life feels meaningless. Israel is at war, and our enemies are attacking from every side. Every day, I watch and pray in anticipation, wondering what I should do. The South is getting hammered, with hundreds of thousands seeking refuge away from the borders, and now the North is experiencing frequent attacks. Is anywhere safe? The world is also in uproar. However, not in the way you’d expect. There is nothing “just” about October 7th’s massacre or the 240 hostages still in Gaza. Yet, millions are rallying against Israel, condemning the IDF for invading Gaza to eradicate Hamas — a terrorist organization!! Their ignorance will never make sense to me. How are people so blind? Nevertheless, through all the turmoil, hatred, antisemitism, destruction, and mourning, I stand on the promises in Your Word and praise You for Your steadfastness. The IDF is strong, but You are stronger. đŸ’ȘđŸŒ Our enemies call for our extinction, but Your Word declares they will not succeed.📖 So, Father, I ask for Your light to shine through this darkness. Call Your people to rise up, stand with IsraelđŸ‡źđŸ‡±, and share the Good News of Yeshua with their neighbors, family, friends, and army units. Now, more than ever, people need hope and peace, and we know the true source of these things is only found when we put our faith in the Messiah.✹ I love You, Lord, and continue to wait on You. Reveal Yourself to Israel. Protect Your people. Heal the wounded. Comfort those in mourning. Bring the hostages home!❗ Minister to the hearts of the lost. Strengthen the weary. Remove the blindfolds. And pour Your love over this nation as we continue to be a testimony of mercy and honor against ruthless and unforgiving enemies! In Yeshua’s name, Amen!đŸ™đŸŒ #prayer #prayforisrael #israelatwar #inspiretruth #prayerduringwar

On October 7th, everything changed 😭 I was having a restful Shabbat morning when my dad delivered the startling news that Israel was at war. I was half-asleep at the time, so I didn’t register the gravity of his words until I switched on my phone and read the news. Very quickly, I realized this was not the usual rocket barrage from Gaza the south was used to. No, this was a massacre! Suddenly, our lives were upended as the nation moved into a state of emergency. Plans were canceled, our phones were constantly buzzing with red alerts and distressing updates, and the usually bustling streets fell silent as everyone gathered around their televisions to watch in horror as thousands of Hamas terrorists infiltrated ten cities along the southern border, torturing, kidnapping, and murdering everyone and anything they could get their hands on. In my thirteen years living in Israel, I have never experienced anything like this. Very quickly, my family and I recognized that this was the real deal. Our city’s bomb shelters were opened, and tension filled the air as we held our breath for what was to come. Similar to the early days of COVID-19, panic swept over the nation after Home Command advised us to have enough food, water, and supplies stocked up in case we were confined to our homes and bomb shelters for three or more days. It’s been over a month since the war began. While the sirens have only gone off twice in Haifa, we are prepared for things to escalate. This is the reality of my life in Israel right now. Yet, despite these constant threats, I choose to cling to the promise found in Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.” Please continue to pray for Israel’s victory, the hostages’ release, the innocent civilians caught in the crossfires of this war, and the world leaders involved. Israel will not back down from this fight until every terrorist is brought to their knees and the hostages are released. 📖 Do you enjoy Bible retelling? 📖 Adapting Bible stories is HARD, especially when you want to remain faithful to the source material while infusing it with originality. Yet, Erin Philips managed to breathe new life into the book of Ruth, taking it to great heights in her new YA dark fantasy, A Bond of Briars! “She is bonded to a spirit who demands her blood. She serves a mother-in-law who resents her power. She meets a man who challenges everything she's ever believed.” Review: A Bond of Briars took me on a journey I didn't know I needed to take. While most of the story is filled with magical elements and darkness, as the light broke through the pages, I came to appreciate the way Erin Phillips crafted this narrative and was convicted for my quick judgment. Through themes of unconditional love, selfless sacrifice, and friendship, Erin Phillips skillfully places God at the heart of the story, offering inspiration to all who pick up this book. However, it's worth noting that A Bond of Briars may not be suitable for everyone — especially if you are not a fan of magic, spells, or spirits. Nevertheless, beneath this book's surface, a profound and resonant truth becomes apparent as the plot unfolds. At its core, A Bond of Briars challenges readers to consider who or what we cling to in life. Are we bound by our own desires, including the things we believe are harmless, or are we willing to surrender ourselves to the One who offers true freedom and love? Last night, the sirens blared throughout Tel Aviv and its neighboring cities as a massive barrage of rockets rained down from Gaza. Although they shouldn’t have to endure these constant threats, the people in southern Israel are used to taking shelter from missile attacks. When I messaged my friend in Bat Yam to check in, he told me they had just scooped their kids out of bed to take cover in the stairwell; then, when the sirens stopped and it was safe to head back inside, their kids fell straight to sleep! I am in awe of the resilience Israelis are displaying at this time!! It reminds me of David’s prayer in Psalm 3 after he fled from Absalom: “Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.” ~ ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Please continue to pray for the war in Israel! Things are also heating up in the north, though we are still unaffected. đŸ™đŸŒ #IsraelAtWar #IsraelUnderAttack #IStandWithIsrael #inspiretruth

October 12th — My 26th birthday  Yesterday was unlike any birthday I’ve experienced. With the current war raging through Israel, I struggled to find joy as my family did what they could to make this day special. How could I when so many are crying over the loss of their loved ones or out of fear of rockets and terror attacks? As much as we tried to celebrate, the constant news updates brought us back to reality. A heaviness shadowed the day, growing heavier when I learned one of the girls taken by Hamas shared this 26th birthday with me.  War is real and scary; however, we cannot allow it to take over our thoughts. I have found it very hard to focus on anything other than the news this week, but the more I watch, the less joy and peace I feel. What’s happening in Israel is not only a physical war but a spiritual and psychological one as well. Tonight, God reminded me that if we’re not shining our armor or sharpening our swords each day, we will not be well-equipped to fight the battles ahead!  So, this Shabbat, I choose to meditate on Philippians 4:4-9. While I will continue to write about what is happening in Israel, I will fight harder to prioritize God throughout the day. More than ever, we need to draw close to our Heavenly Father. If we don’t, we will fall further into despair and fear until it cripples us. I don’t want that to be me. Yes, I am scared, and I don’t know what will come, so it’s a good thing I serve a God who isn’t afraid and does know the end from the beginning!  I hope these late-night thoughts will also encourage you tonight. We weren’t promised easy lives, but God did promise that we wouldn’t have to walk through the valley of the shadow of death alone! He is with us, so we do not need to be afraid or feel like we are carrying this load alone!  P.s. THANK YOU to everyone who reached out to me yesterday! đŸ™đŸŒ Your words and prayers were a blessing! Did you know Yeshua/Jesus wasn’t born on Christmas Day? ✹ While many believers celebrate December 25th as Jesus’ “birthday,” Biblical evidence suggests that His birth actually occurred on the first day of Sukkot/Tabernacles! How can we know this? Well, God is not in the business of random. There is purpose in everything He does, including the season His Son came to earth! Throughout the Bible, we read of Sukkot being at the forefront of essential historical events — the dedication of the First Temple (2 Chronicles 7) and the Israelites’ return after their Babylonian exile (Ezra 3) — so it would be far from coincidental that the TRUE Temple — Yeshua (John 2:18-22) — would do something significant during the Feast of Tabernacles. Moreover, there are eight days during Sukkot — the final day is often known as the Last Great Day. According to God’s commandments, when a baby boy is born, he is to be circumcised and named on the eighth day, which Yeshua was (Luke 2:21). What better time is there for Yeshua to be born and named if not within the Feast of Tabernacles and the LAST GREAT DAY?! Especially when we look at what will happen on this day in the near future! Have you been hurt by the church? â›Ș In a society where faith deconstruction is trending, Jinger Duggar Vuolo fearlessly disentangles her identity and beliefs from the toxic teachings of Bill Gothard (Founder of the IBLP) in her memoir Becoming Free Indeed. Through a vulnerable exploration of her journey to liberation, Jinger dismantles the doctrines of obedience, authority, courtship, and more against the true teachings found within the Bible. Emerging from a past of judgment and fear, Jinger adopts a loving and gracious approach, celebrating diverse perspectives while directing readers toward the Messiah and the freedom He offers. “Becoming Free Indeed” captivated me with its sincerity. Rather than using this book to gossip about her family’s scandals, Jinger spends the majority of the time encouraging readers to rely on the Lord rather than human understanding and to stand in love. I particularly liked Jinger’s emphasis on unity among believers and living by God’s Word rather than fear, judgment, and religion. I was at church the other week, and something the pastor said fits perfectly with the theme of this book: “Truth as a religion can kill you, and grace without truth can kill you, but when truth and grace stand side by side each other, they bring life.” I pray Jinger Duggar Vuolo’s testimony in “Becoming Free Indeed” will be the start of others’ disentangling journeys and bring hope to those who have been wounded by abusive church leaders and false doctrines. #bookreview #bookstagram #duggars #duggarfamily #inspiretruth #becomingfreeindeed #bible #truth #memoir #faith #christian #jingerduggar #jingervuolo

Why do people say, “May your name be written in the Book of Life” on Yom Kippur / Day of Atonement? Judaism teaches that Jews achieve salvation through their works, so they observe ten days of awe each year, from the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashana) to Yom Kippur. During this time, they perform good deeds and seek forgiveness, hoping their names will appear in the Book of Life. However, as believers in the Messiah, we understand that salvation does not come through works (Ephesians 2:8-9). So, why do so many use this greeting? It truly baffles me because the Bible clearly states that eternal life can only come through the Messiah (John 14:6; 1 John 5). Yom Kippur is an incredible day where we set aside all distractions and focus solely on the One worthy of praise! Although we continue to afflict our souls (through fasting, disconnecting from technology, or as the Lord leads; the Bible is not specific) and take the day off work to remember what Yeshua did for us, it is not a day of worry or sorrow. Thanks to Yeshua, we don't need to fear that our salvation must be earned through good works and deeds because we have the assurance that our names are already written in Heaven (Luke 10:20). However, many are still lost and searching. So, instead of following unbiblical practices, I urge you to use this day to intercede for the restoration of Israel and that your nation (wherever you live) will discover their Savior, accept Yeshua's atonement, and break free from the chains that bind them (Read 1 Kings 8:33-34, 46-51; Romans 10:1-4). Did you know the Feast of Trumpets is the only Biblical feast written about more in the New Testament than in the Old? Unlike the other feasts, there is no explanation in the Torah about why we should observe this feast; however, as we research the significance of the shofar (trumpet), we learn that it is a symbol of the Second Coming. So, while the Jews miss the importance of this day and will celebrate it as Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, this weekend, believers worldwide are grabbing their shofars to raise a shout in anticipation for the day of the Messiah’s return! “Blow the trumpet in Zion; for the day of the Lord is coming.” ~ Joel 2:1 How are you celebrating this feast? #feastoftrumpets #shofar #roshhashana #feast #biblicalfeast #torah #bible #secondcoming #thekingiscoming #inspiretruth

Have you ever written God a list of your wants/needs? How did He provide? Over the past three months, my family and I have been moving house. Without financial certainty or an idea of where we’d go once our lease ended, we fervently sought the Lord’s guidance and watched Him miraculously meet our every need! Each step of the journey was an act of surrender, entrusting the future to God, and embracing His will. And guess what? Even the things I believed were far-fetched were met!! Nothing is too small or big for our God. He knows what we need and will provide them at the perfect time. However, as it says in Proverbs 19:21, the key lies in relinquishing our plans so the Lord’s purpose can prevail. Are you tired of trying to conquer life’s obstacles with your own strength? Our human strength has its limits, but we serve a God capable of carrying our burdens and providing what we need. So, if you’re struggling to make ends meet or navigating a transition season, I encourage you to write down your requests and lay them at the Lord’s feet. The Bible promises that God will never leave or forsake us; when we ask, we shall receive. So, commit your ways to the Lord, releasing the burdens off your shoulders — which were never meant for you to bear alone — and watch the Lord establish His plans for your life! The outcome may not be what you expected, but I guarantee it’ll be better! “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” ~ Romans 8:28 #wordofencouragement #verseoftheday #bible #encourage #inspiretruth #God #transition #moving #allgoodthings #proverbs #godswill

Israel, a land steeped in history, is the backdrop for countless events chronicled in the Bible’s sixty-six books. Every corner of this country carries echoes of the past, etched into the very ground that witnessed the Israelites’ entry into the Promised Land and Yeshua’s miraculous ministry. Though I have lived in Israel for over eleven years, I continue to be captivated by its popular tourist sites, especially when I have the chance to introduce these remarkable places to my friends. Recently, my friend Silja and I embarked on a road trip to the northern side of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) to retrace Yeshua’s footsteps and immerse ourselves in the stories that define the region. We visited Magdala — the birthplace of Mary Magdalene; Capernaum — where Yeshua chose His disciples, preached, and performed miracles; Olea Essence — my favorite olive oil factory in Israel; the Jordan River — where Yeshua was baptized; and the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) — where Yeshua quieted the storm and walked on water!! Moving is the most dreaded part of any transition season. Whether you’re moving to a new job, home, or even a different country, the uncertainty and lack of control can leave us feeling unbalanced and overwhelmed about what lies ahead. I can personally relate to these feelings, having experienced them countless times, and unfortunately, it never gets easier. So, how do we combat the enemy’s tactics to use our fears to undermine our trust in God and overshadow the promises written in His Word? The answer is prayer, worship, and actively mediating on the things of God rather than this world. However, I understand that this is easier said than done. Trust me; there will be days where you’ll feel like you’re on a spinning wheel, eyes tightly closed, while someone throws knives at you. But you’re not alone. Thankfully, the Bible is rich with stories of people who lived by faith rather than sight and witnessed the Lord guide their every step, with Noah being a prominent example. We’re all familiar with the story of Noah’s Ark. It’s a powerful narrative of God’s mercy and faithfulness; however, when I reread it recently, Noah’s unwavering faith stood out to me. Being in an ark full of animals during a flood is incredible, but can you imagine the process leading up to it? For almost a CENTURY, Noah faithfully built the ark according to God’s instructions, firmly believing that despite the ongoing drought, the rain would eventually come! I have no doubt Noah’s neighbors thought him mad — Noah, himself, probably questioned his sanity too. Yet, despite the clear skies and absent rain clouds, he persisted until it was time to enter the ark and close the door. Moving is hard, and walking blind is unsettling, but the Lord promises to lead us. It may seem like the wait is dragging on forever or that time is running out, but Noah’s story reminds us that God’s promises will come to pass, and He will provide in our time of need. Will you have faith like Noah and remain committed to the work God has called you to, regardless of how long it takes for the rain to come? #wordofencouragement #faith #walkbyfaith #inspiretruth #encourage #verseoftheday #buildaboat #inspire #truth

During the unforgettable Serious Writer Retreat I attended in March, we spent three days exploring medieval cities, tasting the food of the land, and stepping into the settings of some of our favorite movies. Our first outing was all about food as we traveled to Chianciano Terme for an olive oil tasting, Montepulciano for a wine tasting, and Pienze for a cheese tasting! I don’t know how I found the space to keep eating, but I somehow managed as we hopped from one place to the next. We didn’t stop eating all day, but you won’t hear me complaining. It was incredible to learn about the process behind these exquisite products and taste the fruits of their labor! Following a nourishing breakfast, our group of twenty-five was divided into two buses to embark on the day’s adventure. As the rain poured outside, we enjoyed listening to our host, Alice, share a fascinating commentary about the area’s history. Our first stop was Antico Frantoio Toscano, an olive oil factory owned by the Peccianti family since its establishment in 1839! When I was a little girl, the story of Esther was romanized as a courageous love story of a young Jewish woman who found favor with the king, saved her people, and lived happily ever after. However, when you take a closer look, the truth isn’t as fairytale-like as we’ve been taught. In her rich retelling of the book of Esther, Erin Phillips reimagines the famous tale into a dark fantasy novel called A Crown of Chains that you won’t want to put down! It’s been a long time since I’ve spent the entire day flipping through the pages of a book, so it’s a big deal when I say that I DEVOURED A Crown of Chains! It contained everything a fantasy lover like myself could ask for — folklore, magical abilities, romance, action, suspense, Biblical allegories, and a fierce protagonist. Erin Phillips is a rising star! I applaud her bravery in tackling the dark fantasy genre while keeping God at the center of the plot. Unlike many novels in the genre, A Crown of Chains remained regal and pure without sugarcoating the cruel reality of the characters’ circumstances. I particularly loved that we got to see Roxana’s transition into her new life as a kingsmaid, and struggle with her as she is pulled from the arms of the man she loves. With incredible world buildings and character arcs, Erin Phillips beautifully transforms the book of Esther into something new and refreshing, adding twists that will delightfully surprise readers. However, staying true to Esther, A Crown of Chains ultimately reminds us that God can use the most heinous plots for His glory. Roxana might not have been born with wings, but she was soaring by the end of the story, and I LIVE for it! Don’t miss out on this extraordinary journey that combines faith, fantasy, and the power of an ordinary girl turned warrior queen. A Crown of Chains is an enchanting read that will leave fantasy lovers yearning for more! P.S. Erin Phillips, if you’re reading this and looking for a narrator for the audiobook, I’d love to audition! 😉 #erinphillips #crownofchains #bookstagram #bookreview #fantasy #darkfantasy #esther #god #christianfantasy #youngadult #mustread #inspiretruth

We are living in an era of hustle and ambition. If you listen to interviews of successful businessmen or freelancers, you’ll often hear them talk about the need to hustle to the top. And, while their ambition and drive are great attributes, sometimes the Lord leads us on a more scenic route...or to a red light.  Too often, we rush through our time with the Lord to start our tasks of the day, or we leave a church service and immediately forget what was said because our minds are already focused on where we’re going to eat or do with the rest of our day. However, this isn’t how God calls us to live. Just because time never stops ticking doesn’t mean we have to try to keep up with it.  In addition to rushing from one task to the next, we often hurry without checking to see if the road is clear. Earlier this month, I watched a video by @trishafenimore comparing her son’s impatience for her to drive while they were stopped at a red light to our impatience with God to move us forward. Trisha explained that just like her son, we’re in the backseat urging God to “Go!” without realizing the traffic blocking our path. God, however, sees the road perfectly from the front seat and knows that moving forward would result in an accident.  There is a reason for our stillness. Even if we’ve just launched a business or feel ready to move on to the next phase of our lives, the Lord often brings us to a red light to protect us from potential harm, give us time to catch our breath, or prepare us for what’s ahead. Even for those who feel stuck on a seesaw, there is a reason for the stalling. Perhaps you still need to learn something before the Lord can take you to the next destination, or maybe He is keeping you in place to help someone else with their journey. Whatever the reason, let’s stop attempting to be a backseat driver when we’re blind to the full view of the road in front of us. Instead, let’s be fully present and IN THIS MOMENT today, enjoying the ride with God as our chauffeur!  #blog #foodforthought #encourage #bible #God #backseatdriver #inspiretruth #redlight #still #inthismoment #trust

There is a reason this series is called Timeless! Gabrielle Meyer brings history to life with yet another fabulous time-crossing narrative with not two but THREE time periods!! In This Moment is one of those books that will leave readers speechless yet simultaneously desperate to shout its praise from the top of a mountain! I wasn’t sure how Gabrielle Meyer would juggle three time periods without making things confusing, but she did a PHENOMENAL job immersing me in the sights, sounds, emotions, and history of each era without leaving me feeling overwhelmed. I knew exactly what was happening and felt excited at the start of each chapter when Maggie would wake in one of her three lives. Though Maggie was unquestionably the shining star with her selflessness and unwavering desire to help others, the supporting characters were equally enchanting and relatable. Like Maggie, I also struggled to determine which life she should choose because they all had qualities that made them great choices. In the end, I think she made a perfect choice, though that’s all I’m going to say about that! ;) Click the link in the bio to read my full review! #bethanyhouse #inthismoment #historicalfiction #newrelease #netgalley #gabriellemeyer #favorite #bookstagram #mustread #bookreview #inspiretruth
