Day 9 – #ThrowbackThursday Today it’s time for a throwback photo or memory from a time that means something special. This picture was taken in February. We had some friends up to visit, but one of them fell ill and so they had to go home earlier than planned. On this particular day we went to Formby Point for a short gander, explored the Atkinson, and grabbed grub at Hickorys – all the places we had planned to take them. We also created and took a cardboard cut-out of our friends and took photos in each location. It turned out to be a most excellent day. Eddy managed to keep relatively quiet until we arrived home at around 2.30pm, and then he flicked the “nap” switch, and I was done for the day. You can either hate something & hold grudges which creates stress & a bad attitude, or you can get over yourself & make the most of it. Best way to quit feeling sorry for yourself is to look up & care for the people in front of you. Make them feel like they matter, even when they make mistakes or poor decisions. Especially then. Just like Jesus did & wants us to do! Treating someone like discarded trash for those reasons doesn’t make them want to start acting right, or stick around for that matter. I’ve experienced both sides. People may not remember me for my works, but hopefully they’ll remember that I cared about them (or how weird I am). I’m not perfect at it, or even good at it, but I’m self-aware of how I want to be & I work on it. I’m also not too serious because that’s just not fun, not me, & no one needs to feel stressed when I’m around. I’m not working my butt off in school studying to become a therapist for nothing! The coolest thing is that @r0cky98_ and I filled our first ever bracket together; lo and behold we picked UConn Huskies to win it all. I feel like I'm a winner everytime I think of her, get a message from her, being around her, and getting to hold her. It was an absolute privilege to get to surprise her at work during St. Patty's and share a fun green day. Equally memorable was the surprise receiving my first ever Jalen Hurts jersey from her. 🦅 One of the best part of March for me was spring break, using that time to witness Shen Yun together. Seeing her feel nostalgic and in tune with a part of her heritage was heartwarming to be right next to, hand in hand. And the weekends of fun in the not-as-hot sun have tamed the weekend worries in a way I’ve always dreamed of. When assessing our last 7 days during lunch today, all of us agreed that our “rose” was definitely time spent enjoying our area, together & that it was also what we were most looking forward to this coming week… aka it’s weekend season.
