We didn't have one, but I'm glad we stopped by Tiana's Palace. This place had a huge outdoor (under a tent) seating area and you can just get in line or online order. The dishes were kinda messy with the sauces everywhere on the sides of the plate, but the food was surprisingly very well seasoned for theme park food. I got the Cajun Spiced Half Chicken, and that chicken was so well spiced/cooked. It wasn't dry and had a very little kick to it. The pickled veggies and cole slaw were nice refreshers and the baked mac and cheese was a good cheesy carb to the balanced meal 😍 The gumbos were also pretty good but the house Gumbo is spicier than the other one! I didn't try the grits, but I heard it's pretty solid. The cornbread was on the dry side, and I would probably not order it again. Right next to Tiana's Palace/on the side of it is the Mint Julep Bar, where the mickey-shaped beignets are from!! Don't sneeze... and give me ALL the sugah, Sugah! I had to try the grape Mickey-shaped beignets at the Mint Julep Bar today! I haven't had Mickey-shaped beignets in AGES! I chased them down with a huckleberry mint julep. The beignets were fresh, warm, and oh-so-good! The grape flavor was really nice; reminiscent of grape soda, and I kept shaking the bag that the beignets came in to make sure that they were well-covered with that tasty grape-flavored sugar! There was a strong floral quality to the huckleberry mint julep that was a bit off-putting to me; not sure where it was from, but it wasn't so bad that I couldn't finish it. I did get a cup of Mardi Gras icing dip, but never used it... I packed it up with a spoon for later. And for the record, I did NOT eat that pile of grape sugar in the first picture. Disney Snack Review: On Wednesday we tried the House-filled Beignet from Tiana’s - filled with lemon ice-box pie filling and covered with a lemon glaze. $4.49 It was very good! We shared it, but we both wanted the whole thing. 😄 The filling was sweet and lemony and the glaze was light so it didn’t make it soggy or too sweet. I would definitely get this again! 🍋 From the Mint Julep bar we ordered: Mickey Beignets with Grape Powdered Sugar 🍇 I’m not the greatest at Mobile order, so I ordered these accidentally. I thought I was just getting 3 regular plain beignets. So the purple sugar mixed with the powdered sugar kind of threw me. They have a light fruity flavor, not overwhelming. They were good and fun to try, but I wouldn’t order them again. I prefer the plain ones. Huckleberry Mint Julep - huckleberry, mint, lime and garnished with mint and blueberries. This was refreshing. I’m not a fan of mint juleps as they are toothpastey to me, but this one just had a hint of mint and the huckleberry was prominent. I didn’t read the description (again) and I thought the blueberries were the blueberry bobas like in the Jabba Juice at Oga’s, so I was a tiny bit disappointed when I worked hard to get around the ice to get a boba and it didn’t pop. In October, we were scheduled to swing by Port Orleans and grab some Mickey beignets. Our bus picked us up WAY late to enter Disney property and we never got to go. I said “oh well. We can get them when we go to Land in November”. November came, we went to Disneyland, it was our last day there and we went to get beignets from Mint Julep Bar after dinner and the line was too long and we wouldn’t be able to do the activities we had planned for the rest of the night so we opted out. This super disappointed me because I had been talking about these beignets for a year. 😂 We were going to have some (non-mouse shaped) beignets in New Orleans earlier this year when we had to scramble to get back after a family emergency. I about decided God just didn’t want me to have any beignets. 😂 So today Tyler pulled out the Disney cookbook and made some Mickey beignets!!
