People easily spot the state of the Calf of Man's Stevenson 1818 lighthouses. While they are still imposing and atmospheric features in the landscape with an impressive story to tell, they could do with some investment and restorative work. Surrounding them is the magnificent island ecosystem of the Calf of Man and its seas. Thier state is harder to determine, but while our Manx Shearwaters have an increasing population, it is no where near the historical level that named them after this very population. This is part of a much wider picture thst shows our seabird populations in decline and most wildlife showing the same trend.
