Chris and I were lucky enough to see the legend herself live on her farewell tour in Birmingham many years ago, so her music has a lot of memories for us. The musical is a masterclass in giving a full picture of someone’s life. It certainly doesn’t gloss over the horrendous things Tina went through and they are hard to watch at times but it makes you even more in awe of the success she achieved. Not many people reach the top of their game once but Tina did it twice. @zaramacintosh_ who was on playing Tina smashed it out of the park. As the show ends in full Tina concert mode, Chris and I were transported back to Birmingham 15 years ago. Tina, thank you for the memories. The Little Big Things tells the astonishing and uplifting story of the inspirational Henry Fraser. Fraser was involved in an accident as a very young man that left him paralysed. With the support of loved ones around him, Fraser has gone on to live a full and remarkable life, that has included writing a book about his story. It is based on this book that Nick Butcher (music and lyrics), Tom Ling (lyrics) and Joe White (book) have written this joyously uplifting musical. I’ve been sat thinking about my favourite shows and how lucky I am to have seen this one so many times. From the Arts Theatre in 2019, I’ve been to watch SIX, 26 times with 13 variations of cast made up of the principles and incredible alternates. The photos here sum up the show - its humour and fun, the incredible cast and fans. Six was the first show I saw when theatres were opened with restrictions in December 2020. Six was the first show I then saw once theatres re-opened in May 2021. From West End Live, UK tours, one royal flash mob at the Tower of London, being there to see the pro-shot with the original cast, this show has been one hell of a constant powerhouse and I’m already looking forward to going back.

My short ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review of RENT by @the_actory_ at @phoenixartsclub A really strong debut performance from The Actory, a company with the mission “to keep performers performing in between contracts”. This performance was immersive and really impressively staged, with Bradley Hawkes as Mark and Faith Holden as Maureen providing the strongest performance, within the talented cast. While not a perfect production, specifically the tech needed work, however with practice this will come.
