Big Boy’s adoption has been generously sponsored in honor of Nala, a gorgeous three year old kitty who was found to have advanced lymphoma and passed away over this past weekend. Tommy was rescued from his outdoor life this past January, along with several other very friendly cats, all of whom have now been adopted. Despite having a great woman feeding Tommy and his friends, the neighbor living next door was known to harm the cats, going as far as designing a device that trapped the cats and “destroyed the cats’ bodies”. Sunny Sunday Part 3! Look at this cute girl!! Sunny is a one year old lab mix with cerebellar hypoplasia. This condition does not have any treatment, but it also isn’t progressive. So, it will never get worse. She can live a long and happy life. She was just five days from being euthanized when we were asked if we could take her. Sunny really enjoys being outside. She loves grass! An enclosed backyard would be great for Sunny, but she doesn’t need anything major. Sunny will make someone a great companion. We just need to find the right home. Sunny’s favorite thing is to have her neck and ears scratched. Tommy has been living it up in a new foster home for the past few weeks. It’s the first time he’s ever been able to really be doted on without sharing all of the attention with a bunch of other cats... and we think he’s not sure what to make of it! (I’ve been told he’s really enjoying spending time with his “new dad” though!) Tommy has an exuberant, happy personality. He loves purring, head butts and rubbing on you, and getting lots of pets. He’ll also play at times, but he doesn’t have that psycho kitten energy. We think he’d enjoy having a cat or two in his forever home (surprisingly, he’s been quite a bit more reserved in foster without a feline buddy!) We'd like to share Holly with our social media fans today, hoping that she will find her #fureverhome. She is a lovely young lady who is mostly black, with a few endearing white patches that help her to stand out in the crowd. She came to FHS, along with 2 other cats with whom she had lived previously, because their owner’s health no longer allowed him to care for them. The presence of the 2 other cats helped Holly to adjust to living in the feline community of Colony 2 and she was often seen hanging out with one or the other of them. Those cats have been adopted and Holly is still waiting for a home of her own. Holly is very shy but will usually respond to human attention, allowing visitors and volunteers to pet her. She's a special girl and would love to live in a household with other cats. Meet Peggy! This sweet cat has been through a lot in her 13 years. A few years ago she came to us and had an injury to her leg that didn’t heal properly so we had to amputate it. After she healed she found a loving new family, sadly after her owner passed and she began having issues with house spiking Peggy found herself back at our shelter looking for a new family. While in our care we found out she had an undiagnosed UTI which was causing her pain and to not use her litter box. We have provided her with the medical care she needed to clear up her UTI and help with her house soiling. She is now looking for love and stability after a few hard years. Webber is an awesome Retriever mix who was found in the middle of a busy road and no one claimed him. He is about eight years old and an all around great dog. He loves everyone we have introduced him to. He is a bit of an escape artist and would do best in a home where he is supervised in the backyard or regularly walked on a leash. Webber loves to snuggle on the couch and prefers to be inside. Webber is already crate trained, housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and knows some basic commands.
