Is there just one "path" to art advisory? To help answer this question, we are asking our advisor members to share their unique career journey to becoming an art advisor. We sat down with Wendy Cromwell to learn more. Early on, Wendy discovered that she had the ability to demystify challenging art for viewers, no matter their background. This, partnered with her college internship with art advisor Janice Oresman, her internship at The Met's Costume Institute, her internship at Leo Castelli Gallery, and her work as a contemporary art specialist at Sotheby's in the 1990's inspired her work as an art advisor. "I had an insatiable curiosity to see everything and do everything, not be pigeonholed into a period or one group of artists. The sculpture 'Hombre Mirando' does not necessarily have to be placed outside. Presented here is a recent project completed for a client in Belgium. The client requested a pedestal height of only 5 centimetres, while the total height is 180 cm. Corten steel was chosen for the sculpture, as it will be placed outside for half of the year. The transportation to Belgium was organised, while Toni Mari was responsible for manufacturing it. We would like to express our gratitude to our client for entrusting our gallery with this project. Additionally, we extend our thanks to Toni Mari for executing this astonishing work. . . La escultura "Hombre Mirando" no tiene por qué colocarse necesariamente en el exterior. Aquí se presenta un proyecto reciente realizado para un cliente de Bélgica. El cliente solicitó una altura de pedestal de sólo 5 centímetros, mientras que la altura total es de 180 cm. Se eligió acero corten para la escultura, ya que estará colocada en el exterior durante la mitad del año. Se organizó el transporte a Bélgica, mientras que Toni Mari se encargó de fabricarla. This original painting duly signed by the late noted Haitian Gesner Armand. It depicts a boy with his red bicycle behind a tree, and it's a 14"x11" oil painted on canvas painted circa 2005. About the artist:- Gesner Armand was born in 1936 in Croix-des Bouquets. He was initiated into drawing and watercolor at the Centre d'Art in 1956 , and was granted a scholarship by the French Government in 1961 to study art in Paris. He lived in Paris for 2 years and came back to the Croix des Bouquets. He was the curator for the Musee d'Art Haitien in Port-au-Prince for a couple of years. He studied art both in Paris and Mexico. As a renown Haitian painter, he has exhibited in Haiti, Mexico, the United States, Paris, Spain, Jamaica, Martinique, Venezuela, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, and Israel . He is known for his luminous country scenes and his pigeons; and although his still-lives reveal an undeniable Mexican Influence his art reflects the strong love he has for his country, Haiti.
