One of the first coconut trees I ever climbed was actually pretty high. I didn't make it all the way to the top mind you, cuz that shit is scary and I'm not built for that shit. On the way down, I slipped and bashed my head so hard I almost passed out. I've since decided to leave the climbing to my Tongan friends. I watched a buddy of mine, Apiesa, climb a tree, knock down the nuts, then jump to the next tree and do the same. He jumped to 5 trees in total before climbing down. Had a great start , 2nd in the first turn made a pass to lead through the rocks , then got into the deep sand and came in too hot on a 90° left turn and washed the front end braking off my clutch lever... learned a valuable lesson to have extra levers in my bag so I will consider it a learning experience.. life knocks you down , just like racing . The way i would imagine it, So uhh i tried to work with it. Others didn't do anything about the eye part and only drew a whole factory but i thought "yeah why not draw a eye looking at the candy factory work there" I don't know if the teachers will realise what i tried to say with my art there.. The worst part was, at first they told us weeks ago that we are not allowed to use acrylics so i didn't take them with me. Other people and me were kinda angry to find out on the day we had to do that, they would be allowed. I was so damn pissed because i am not used to use Aqua colours. Like.. I can't work with it and it's noticeable. I could've done so much. My fear of tests didn't do any better. I couldn't finish the pic and i was stressed to the point of feeling like to puke.. Day 20 of my #NotPreciousProject for #the100DayProject2024 Today has tested me. I spent all morning getting the house clean so I could focus on being creative this afternoon. Once it was done, my first task was to finish the rhinestone button earrings from yesterday. I had two ideas for getting the tassel to hang better, and the first one worked flawlessly! Hurray for a win. But, it all went awry from there. I needed to find a way to get the buttons to face forward instead of down. I started by adding a little weight to the bottom of the chains in the tassel with more rhinestones. This was no small task as I took apart rhinestone trim, hooked on jump rings, attached them to the chain, secured each of the prongs, and added a tiny smidge of glue for each and every one. That only helped a little. I tried glue, but there just isn’t enough surface area for the solution I had in mind. Finally, soldering came to mind. I was hesitant because it’s a bit of a hassle to haul out all those supplies. But, keeping my word of the year (Action) in mind, I forged ahead. I didn’t take into account that the buttons themselves are soldered together. And, when I applied the heat of the iron to the first pair, one of the larger stones popped off. 🤦♀️🤦♀️ I sat and thought some more; finally deciding to forge on and try the other one. It worked! Knowing my skills with the iron would never fix the first one, I simply leveled out the solder on it and decided to call it a day. I now have two handmade, sparkly pendants. Yay for working with my (not)Precious stash. After a few pretty decent #longeuns in a row, there was destined to be a stinker! This was that #run- My first misstep was likely less hydration than I should have due to my non stop sinus and drainage issues. The second would be grossly underestimating the intensity of the sun on this fine 70• day. The third would be picking a location that was obviously busy with cyclists, walkers, runners, and general path filling peeps. At mile ten, my body sorta let me #jog occasionally, but mostly, this run goes down as #whatnottodo when trying to succeed. And you know, some runs suck, and that’s OK!
