Failure. It's all a part of the process. It's how we humble ourselves. It how we learn. And ultimately, it's how we succeed. Yesterday I failed miserably. I was hungover and let that mental state take over of "woah is me" & I ate nearly an entire large cheese pizza. All to myself. Every slice except for one. In one sitting. Normally I would only admit this to people like my husband or @boymeetsfrenchie but admitting things publicly, and therefore to myself, is part of my healing process. So, yes, world (and yes, Susannah) I ate nearly an entire large cheese pizza to myself, in one sitting. And yes, I have #bingeeatingdisorder. Although completely self diagnosed, I have checked off every single box for far too long to count. Yesterday was a failure. But today, I woke up determined to get back to a good mental mindset. It wasn't that I failed, it's which habits I chose to revert to afterwards that mattered. I told my husband I needed help with motivation for my workout, so even with his still-broken foot, he didn't hesitate to join me for leg day on the patio. We made it half way through our workout and then the horrible #cameronpeakfire smoke rolled in with a vengeance. I smelled the smoke and within less than a minute I had a horrific pounding cluster headache. I tried to finish out my super set but could barely finish the current reps. I sat down to catch my breath, to take a sip of water, to try to work myself up for the next set. My husband talked me in to going inside to finish the workout & I finally obliged, but half-assed my way through the rest of the workout inside as I still felt like absolute garbage from the smoke. Such a weird feeling I can't explain. As Denver has been topping the charts of worst air quality in the WORLD for the past few weeks, it's the first time I've felt anything like it. Light-headed with a headache & just overall crappy feeling taking the entire wind out of your sails is all I can describe it. So I failed. Except, I didn't fail at all. I acknowledged my failures. I chose to persevere when I did not want to. I tapped in to my resources. I did it. I finished. I succeeded. And I will continue to do so.

With the recent (and intensified) hip pain I told y'all about, today's leg day was tough, long, and freaking HOT ☀️🌡️🥵 (just check that sweaty hair in the last pic!!💦💦). But I did it and felt GREAT afterwards!! #didntwanttodiditanyway The pain has lessened since I woke up super stiff this morning and it's just kinda there right now, not like earlier. . I took my time throughout my whole workout and really worked on my stretching before and after. 🧘🏻♀️📿 @zbodyfitnessinc workouts always have a #gluteactivation warmup and stretching cool down with every leg day, but I really took my time on it today to help with my hip. . Stretching is so important in preventing AND healing injuries. 🚑 Have you ever been to physical therapy for an injury? Ever notice that most of your muscle homework is stretching? 👩🏻🏫📚🤸🏼♂️ . Great run through the canyon this morning! 🏞️ My longest run in a LONG time. I started out not knowing how far I wanted to go.. I figured maybe 4? Maybe 6? Somewhere in between? But along the way I was feeling so good and enjoying the beautiful views I figured why stop? 🏃🏻♀️💨 I decided to call it at 7 since I have plans tomorrow for a run with my running buddy and today is also planned for leg day 🍑 It's been SO LONG since I've had this 'I don't want to stop' feeling when running and it felt so. damn. good!! 🙌🏼 . Also this is totally my favorite new running spot I've found! Can't believe it's taken me this long to find it and it's not far at all from our house.
