Maternity leave is coming to an end in a month. Why does it go so fast?! I’m so thankful I’ve had this special time at home with my little man. Postpartum is going well so far. Obviously, the first month was rough with being so tired and up all night and nursing all day. 💤 And trying to figure out a routine but now he’s starting to be up more during the day and sleeping longer stretches throughout the night. That sooo helps. Oh, and adjusting to being a mom of two has been entertaining. Definitely not quiet in our household. 🤪 Feeling like more myself but not 💯 and will take some time, but I’m getting some more sleep and started a wellness program for new moms (online exercises) so that’s been motivating me! 💪 Wish I could stay home with him longer. It’s a YES to camo leggings for me! 🙋🏻♀️ I bought this relaxed v-neck sweater to wear with it on chillier days. It’s a light weight material so a perfect summer sweater. I’m more in the mood to get back into a workout routine. I have to take it slow and ease back into it though. This time around I really wanted a specific routine to focus on areas like strengthening my core and pelvic floor. Here’s what I’m doing to get started: Nancy Anderson’s Birth Recovery 12 week ab rehab program. I’m on week 2 👍🏻 So far so good. And also getting outside for a daily walks for 15-20 minutes, some cardio really helps. Enjoyed a late birthday dinner celebration this week with my family. One of my fave local restaurants is @ilpizzaiolo.northhills and their outdoor patio was open! 🙌🏻 I’m still being pretty cautious on going out and about, especially to dinner. But happy it all went as planned with the warm weather so we could sit outside. Baby boy is 1 month already! 💙 How’s it going so far, you might ask? Definitely still adjusting to life with 2 kids and getting used to being up throughout the night every few hours to nurse him. He’s the sweetest baby though and he loves napping in my arms like all day long. I’m so enjoying all the baby snuggles right now. 🤗 Of course, his witching hour starts around 8 pm, but it’s par for the course. I’ve been rocking this new baby carrier all week so I can actually get stuff done around the house and not stuck sitting on the couch plus I have a toddler who has a lot of requests throughout the day too. 😂 I may look all together here but don’t be fooled, I actually have spit up on my shirt and hair. 🤷🏻♀️ And for the moms-to-be, I’m excited to share my new blog post as a guide or “shopping list” for you. Being pregnant during a pandemic has been quite the experience. I've been extra cautious during these 9 months of pregnancy as my main goal is to keep myself and baby healthy. Woohoo! It’s pumpkin season. 🎃 So many cute pumpkin stands at local farms in the Chautauqua area to get all my fall goodies! It’s a beautiful time up here during the Fall season. The back country roads with the leaves changing is just 😍😍 We also discovered a cute apple farm nearby and bought a jug of apple cider and a bundle of fresh assorted apples. We had a lot of fun “taste testing” different apples. Usually I just do that with wine. 🤣 But I better stock up on more apples when we head back up! Just returned home from our Fall trip! We ended up going to a very special place. ❤️ It’s a special place to me because it’s where my husband proposed. I never heard of @greengableshuddleson until he surprised me with a birthday weekend getaway and “proposal”. I guess he was pretty confident I would say yes. 🤣🤣 JK!! Actually there’s a funny story behind our proposal trip, but I’ll share more another time!🤪 It was so nice to bring Mckinley along on our trip, we spent time walking the grounds here and visited a nearby state park. We even got to eat at Green Gables restaurant which is a must if you visit there. Luckily it was a Sunday evening so there was only one other table of guests and we were pretty far apart. The staff all wore masks so we felt very comfortable. Also, their rooms are these quaint little cottages. They all look different inside and we stayed in “our place” called the Orchard. It’s officially Fall so I’m officially retiring these shorts until next summer. A little sad but as you can tell I’m obsessed with everything Fall and I’m ready for the cooler temps. Happy Monday Beauties! Grab yourself a cup of tea or coffee to get this week started. It might be a two tea kinda day for me. ☕️ We had a productive weekend at the lake with #homeprojects. Our project this weekend was to paint our outdoor patio set. We lucked out and got this patio set for free from my in-laws (I think their neighbor was getting rid of it). It was in good shape but the paint was starting to peel off and it was a green color. It definitely had potential, all it really needed was a fresh coat of paint in a different color. Step 1 ✅ take off any rust or peeling paint to the bare metal using a wire wheeled brush drill and/or a handheld wire brush. Step 2 ✅ wipe down with soapy water for cleaning and you can also pressure wash to get off any additional flaking paint that you missed with the brushing in step 1. Step 3 ✅ spray two coats of RUST-OLEUM paint + primer. We went with a flat black paint color. You could probably use about 5-6 cans of paint to get two coats on it. Depending on the size of your patio set. {Linked all the project tools below.} And that’s about it! Pretty simple but the prep work took some time. Bathing suit shopping is always a tricky one and every year I search high and low for one that looks flattering on me. I think I found it and the best part, I scored this $200 designer suit for $69! (Looks like this one is sold out, but I linked a similar one and same brand). My favorite feature is the belt and I felt really good in this suit. 🖤 On another note, we just returned from a family beach trip at Sandbridge, VA. I was really nervous to travel with everything going on but thankfully it wasn’t too far of a drive. We typically go to Hilton Head, SC but decided to cancel and go somewhere a little closer to home. It worked out, we rented a home walking distance to the beach and we just re-cleaned everything in the house upon arrival (just to be extra safe), food pick-up orders from @walmart and we tried out @instacart. Both were great options to get our food contactless. I actually enjoyed a more low key vacation and not rushing out to dinner every night. We had fun cooking in some nights and ordering pizza. My sweet girl turned 3 this month. And the talented @liviphotos captured the special day. 💕 I just love this age, her personality has really blossomed- she’s silly, curious, “miss independent” and is kind-hearted. And she loves wearing dresses almost every day like a princess. She has most of the Disney princess names memorized. Did I mention that my favorite summer look is a maxi dress? I mean talk about comfort. I’m not always keen on wearing shorts during the summer so this is a great option to keep cool on warm days. I think this has to be my fave maxi dress. I recently bought it on a whim while online shopping. Well just “browsing” to see if anything caught my eye because let’s face it where are we all even going anyways? I don’t know about you, but I’m just starting to get out to see my family and visiting friends outdoors 1 on 1 and really haven’t ventured out to a restaurant just yet. That’s why I opt for more classic looks because they don’t go out of style and I’m not all about investing in a new wardrobe every year or season for that matter. I totally expected this dress to not fit or feel too tight in the waist or being too long #shortgirlproblems 🙋🏻♀️ But I was pleasantly surprised that it fit perfecto! 👌🏻 I love the rib knit material and of course the tie waist which makes it look very flattering.
