These small moments are everything.🫶🏼 Since becoming a mama myself, I feel as though one of the most important pieces of advice I could give is: spend as much time as you can with your children + document the memories often. The muddy boots, blond baby curls, and tiny helper hands reaching for yours only last so long. They’re here one day and gone the next. But let me tell you, it’s some sort of magic the way photographs can bring you back to exactly how a moment felt.🥹 Speaking from experience, this is something worth investing in. I know everyone and their mom has an iPhone to get the shot, but how many shots do you have of you and your babies in your arms. Or your whole beautiful family all in one photo. On Sunday, my kids and I watched the movie “A Million Miles Away”, which was fitting somewhat for the eclipse today. It was about a migrant workers son, who, as a young boy, dreamed of being an astronaut. Fast forward 30 years of his life, and many sacrifices that he and his family made, he took off to space. It was about tenacity, drive, dreaming, and perseverance. We enjoyed it. Today, as we talked about the partial eclipse (or as my 4 year old called it, the solar panels) we were in awe of how small we are yet what an impact each person makes in this world. The thing that stood out to me was the news. Everyone was cheering, smiling, laughing, in awe of the universe, and hugging. Even though I know there are sad things happening in the world, it was refreshing and hopeful to see people like this today. I smiled at God on my inside and took a deep breath. It felt good. Now, I can’t wait to get Spring weather back and get outside to be in nature with families in front of my camera, my family, and my small farm. #ihavetoomanypets

What does a newborn session look like? It’s a session where we “go with the flow”. How we start depends on what your baby needs, and if there are siblings then it depends on their moods too. If the siblings want to be involved right away, then we jump right in and get those moments before they pass. If siblings need a little longer to warm up before being photographed, that’s ok too-and we’ll just focus on baby for a while. It’s usually at this time the siblings WANT to be involved simply because they’re not being asked to be involved. Kid psychology…it’s nuts ya’ll! If your baby is sleeping, we’ll start with you holding the baby, or getting some detail shots. If your baby needs fed, we’ll start with that. If your baby is unsettled, then we’ll go with whatever makes him or her happy.
