Today was a nice day to trail run Squak Mountain’s Central and West Peaks, only to discover that someone lit up some wood in the historic Bullit Fireplace!!!!!! It still smelled like burnt wood when I got there and I was pissed off that it was vandalized 🤬😡. Who would do such things?!!!! Anyway here’s an info from WTA.org. “Historical Note: Charles Stimson "Stim" Bullitt (d. 2009,) who had the cabin built in 1952 as a weekend retreat, was an avid outdoorsman and an active climber well into his 80s. The Bullitt family owned and managed Seattle's KING radio and TV stations, and had extensive real estate holdings that included 590 acres here on Squak Mountain. The cabin was not used often and it fell into disrepair. It was vandalized repeatedly, and eventually it burned.
