Goals- Week 17/52 Hike #17 @ Red Rock Ash Springs and Kraft Mountain Loop🥾 Today, Saturday, Rush & I hiked up Kraft Mountain. We hiked to Ash Springs and then followed it around the Kraft Mt Loop. It was an absolutely beautiful hike. The desert wildflowers were in full bloom and so were the Cactus Flowers. As usual, the backdrop was stunning, and we just could not get over how pretty the hike was. We followed the Ash Springs trail around Kraft Mountain as it takes you into a colorful wash. The trail features intense elevation gain and rock scrambling. For us It was a pretty easy to climb, but great cardio and we really enjoyed ourselves. Too bad we can’t get all the pictures on here, but at least you might enjoy some of the photo highlights. Time for an update! 1. Today is day 27 of the April #oboztrails4trees challenge. I am at 19 trees planted #wildwomanwalkingteam just a few days left now then I will have a new challenge to do with another hiking group geared around healing and hiking 2. I did hike 4 of 52 on Sunday for #52hikechallenge with my friend @mandipandi8430 it was amazing! We stopped to do our fullmoon cards a little early in the forest and some kids that playing near by for a short time near by didn't like the smell of sage lol 3. I did my 5th personal training workout with my personal trainer on thursday and I'm still a bit sore today so it was a good workout and challenged me I feel so much stronger now even after only 5 weeks, I almost got a cramp in my hip on the rowing machine lol. And we are now switching training days from Thursdays to Tuesdays for the last 6 weeks of training...I made it halfway #personaltrainer #gymworkout 4. It's been 19 days since I started my 24 week marathon training plan. It's been going well so far I have been prepping since Sept 2023 (but was active all of last year) and took 1 month off during the holidays which wasn't a good idea I felt shitty and gained weight but I feel better now I didn't like a full month rest but it is what it is #marathonwalkerintraining # #runonedmonton 5. I was getting ready to go on holidays for a week and Wednesday I got let go from my job after 1 year 4 months but I can't even be upset (I am so not upset at all) because I'm excited for my next venture and what ever is coming next...I have been having dreams that come true for 29 years and I'm still learning from them. 8 months ago I dreamt that I was getting let go from this job and people were like I'm sorry to hear you're getting let go and I said it's OK it was only temporary and and at least now I can job search without working at the same time so i better call my recruiter and get started. But how was I supposed to know that would actually happen?! We usually cover some part of the park and then follow the greenbelt path along the river for a bit. Maebh also likes to chase the boats when she sees them. Sometimes she gets to go for a swim, but she has her PT recheck after this and I didn't want her to be covered in river muck for that. 😬 Happy Friday, friends!

Today was an awesome hiking day! We did a little over 6 miles of hiking. We started at our new favorite hike around North South Lake, and then veered off to the Escarpment Trail. This is an extremely short but very beautiful trail, so save it for later when you are in the area, as this is a must-see! Also, if you are there, make sure to drive Independence Pass and enjoy all the breathtaking views. Aside from the incredible views, you can explore remnants of an old mining town that is located east of the Continental Divide. We beat the sun this morning 😎 📍 Stone Mountain Walk-Up Trail 🥾 2.16 miles 💪🏼 20lb vests 🌥️ 57 degrees ⛰️ total ascent 676ft.
#manitouincline - We made it! 🙌 2,744 steps + 2,000 elevation gain in approximately one mile to the top #weloveachallenge - Here’s why we would definitely recommend it! 🙌and some ℹ️ if you’re going to add this one to your 🥾📝… ⬆️ The route is a simple one to follow. Just go 🆙 and when you think you’re close to the top, keep going up some more 😂 🔢 There are numbered markers on the steps, so you can see how many you’ve climbed every so often. 👟You don’t need hiking boots for this one. Running shoes are 👍 ⬇️ We passed some people coming back down the stairs as we were heading up, so if you want a shorter hike (and are fine with climbing down some pretty steep steps), that’s an option. However, we took the Barr Trail, which we highly recommend. It’s to your left when you get to the top of the incline, and it’s a 3 mile trail made up of switchbacks with absolutely gorgeous scenery as you make your way down the mountain. 🔥 The climb to the top is not easy, but it is so worth it. We took our time and stopped periodically, as did just about everybody else who was climbing. Be sure to have plenty of water and take the breaks you need. It’s a very fulfilling feeling when you get to the top 🤩 🚗💲 There is parking at the base of the trail but it’s limited. The cost is $15. We arrived a little after 10:30 AM and were only able to get a spot because somebody had just left. Otherwise it was full. There is additional parking further away where you can park and then either walk or take a shuttle to the base of the incline. ⏲ Our hike totaled 4.2 miles and took 2.5 hours to complete. 📷 The pics in these post are just from the Manitou incline portion of the hike. Just another day hike… this one was a tough one. 7.83 miles with 3,077 feet of elevation gain, from the get-go it was up, followed by up, with some more up. Cool Creek Trail to Devil’s Peak. Once you hit the 3 mile point there was a lot of snow that was still very deep. It slowed us down tremendously and snow shoes would have been nice.
