It's no secret that Tokyo is one of my favorite cities. My parents were stationed there for 4 years, and I spent a good portion of my teens growing up there. It's a wonderful city I've had the chance to bring my oldest son to, and I can't wait to bring my youngest to it. While inherently Tokyo isn't the most autism-accepting city, I will say the culture makes it a little easier to visit. It's clean, it's quiet for the most part, and the attractions are often very quiet and peaceful. Think Studio Ghibli Museum! Many of the attractions on my list are generally quiet, easily accessible, and fun. What attractions would you add to my list? Did you know outside of the U.S. Japan is my second most popular destination to book. If you are considering a trip to Japan allow me to help you plan and book a fun and culture-filled trip to Japan! As a parent of an autistic child, you always want to do what’s best for them. This includes taking family vacations that won’t feel completely overwhelming or overstimulating. You may think that theme parks can’t be anywhere near the top of your list because they are loud and super crowded. However, theme parks are some of my favorite places to book a trip for clients. They are predictable, offer respite for daily life, and are fun. Plus, minimal planning for the most part on your end! There are some incredible autism-friendly theme parks where your autistic child will thrive. Today, I am going to share the best autism-friendly theme parks with you. And yes, I know every autistic child is different, and we can always chat to see what specific needs your child requires while away from home. Which theme park is your favorite, or would you add to my list? #themeparks #disneytravelproffesional #disneytravelagent #universaltravelagent #universalstudiostravelagent #universallovestravelagents #themeparktravelagent #autismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #autismtravelpro #autismfriendly #certifiedautismtravelpro #momofautisticboys #autismtravel #autismattheparks #autismfriendlyvacations #autismfriendlythemeparks

A travel advisors tips for visiting the Universal Orlando Resort! Like, comment and save this post! There may be some tips you are going to want to remember. 1. Stay on property. Better yet, stay at a premier resort so you can get the Unlimited Express Pass complimentary with your stay! 2. Work with a travel advisor. We can ensure your stay at Universal is one that creates memories. It also makes planning and booking easier since you aren't doing it yourself! 3. Try to travel any time but summer. Although hurricane seasons last until November, it isn't as hot here in Florida during that time. Summers can be blistering hot. If you HAVe to do during the summer, try to take plenty of breaks, enjoy Volcano Bay and the pool at your resorts, and drink plenty of water. 4. Save your merchandise shopping for the end of the day. Universal doesn't allow you to take bags on a lot of the rides. There are tons of lockers available, but stopping offers to lock up your items can take up valuable time. Choose to wait till the end of your day or even your last day to shop. If you take my first tip and decide to stay on the property, you will get the choice to send your merchandise purchases back to your room. Just a note the purchases need to be sent 48 hours before check out. 5. Get the Disability Pass. Sign up for the IAC first. It's no secret that I work with both families and families with autistic children. There is so shame in getting the pass. It helps, especially if you decide not to stay at a premier resort. It works very much like an Express Pass, but you'll need to explain how you need support to Guest Services. It's complimentary and meant to be used, so use it. Are there any questions you have about working with a travel advisor for your Universal Studios vacation? #travelagent #universallovestravelagentd #travelpro #traveladvisor #certifiedautismtraveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelpro #UniversalStudios #universalstudiosorlando #Universal

If you are new here, welcome!!  I’m a mom of 2 boys and a 9 year US Air Force veteran.  I love talking about travel, video games, geeky things, and food!  I have found through travel that I have a love for food that other people cook!  I find I am a little bit of an authority on travel due to 39 years in the US Air Force in one way or another. ✨Travel Advisor - My love of travel has been shaped by a lifetime of moving from place to place at least every 7 years.  I've learned things along the way from packing up for moves around the world and packing up for vacation!  ✨Food - I love watching food shows and enjoy eating.  I find that food is a language of love and sharing food through meaningful conversations, bridges the gap between culture, and I think it's one of the best ways to learn about other cultures. ✨Video Games - I leaned on my history as a photojournalist in the USAF to become a video game blogger.  I wrote for blogs about social issues in video games, and now I stream over on @twitch when I have a little extra free time! If you are here, I know you want to either learn about vacationing with your autistic child .❤️ To help you out, I have a free: 🤗 guide "3 Tips to Start Traveling with your Autistic Child" (Link in bio!!!) 🤗 an email newsletter! Character Experiences at Universal Studios Orlando. I am not a huge Transformers fan, but it's a fond memory from my childhood, and I did enjoy some of the films. I really wanted to meet Bumblebee because he doesn't talk, he is a little silly and there is no pressure to chat with him. I talked to a team member before the meet and greet because I was worried my son wouldn't, and he didn't, want to take a photo or talk to Bumblebee because he is a stranger but also loud. The team member quickly allievated my concerns by confirming she would communicate with the actor to turn off the music and to move less. It was nice that the team member and the actor worked with me to get my son to come up and snap a really quick photo. He was a little upset afterward, but in the end, he said he thought the actor on stilts was cool to be able to balance so well. 🤣 Have you met any characters at Universal Studios, and if so, who and what was your experience like? #UniversalStudiosOrlando #AccessibileUniversalStudios #autismatuniversal #autismfriendlyuniversal #UniversalStudiosOrlandoAccessibile #UniversalStudiostraveladvisor #Universallovestraveladvisors #autismfriendlyvacations #autismfriendlythemeparks #autismcertifiedtraveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtraveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelpro

Why you should go to Universal Studios Orlando instead of Walt Disney World. Or at least add it to your trip! Are you planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Studios Orlando Resort? If you find you need help with the planning and booking part, let's see if we are a good fit to work together. Head on over to my link in bio to get started. Universal Studios Orlando is a far superior park, and that's not up for debate. While there are many who are adults who love Disney, some of us have tweens and teens who have decidedly outgrown Disney. With this in mind, Universal has a lot more mature rides, yes even terrible Fast and Furious Super Charged. 🙄 Here are some reasons why you should work with me on your next or very first trip to Universal Studios Orlando. 1. Complimentary Unlimited Express Pass and Early Park Admission. The Universal Resort is a lot smaller than Disney. Even its furthest hotel is only a 15 min shuttle drive away. Staying at any Universal hotel grants you Early Park Admission! When I book you a premier resort, a complimentary Unlimited Express Pass is included for each day of your park ticket bundle. 🎟 2. Universal Studios Orlando is smaller. Currently, it has three parks with a 4th gate on the way. The two main theme parks Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are connected via the Hogwarts Express, or you can simply walk through CityWalk to access them. Volcano Bay is also accessible via a walking path or a shuttle bus and connected to their hotel, Cabana Bay. I have a video sharing a room walking through. Universal is easy to navigate. 3. It's more economical for more exciting rides. For the price of a Disney moderate hotel, you can enjoy a luxurious vacation at one of the three premier resorts and still get all the perks! If you have older tweens and teens like me, you are likely to have a more thrilling experience at Universal. My oldest son kept his excitement contained, but after each ride , I knew I nailed this trip by his sweet smile he shared with me as we pulled back to the loading area. 😀 I will now be a Universal fan for life!

A lot of my travel memories come from adulthood. I did travel a lot as a child because my parents were both in the military, but it was almost restricted to our local area. So, if it wasn't within a couple of hours' drive, we weren't going anywhere else. Not that this is a problem, but as a child, I had already begun cultivating the travel bug. I remember, however, still loving seeing things like Disney but wanting so desperately to go to Universal Studios so I could ride the Back to the Future Ride. I was really into the Back to the Future movies, and I just wanted to experience one time. Even though several points in my parents' careers we lived near Universal Studios Orlando and Univeral Studios Hollywood we NEVER WENT. The first time I went to any Universal Studios, I was an adult. I also... had lived super close to Universal Studios Hollywood as an adult, and I NEVER WENT. That feeling...it wasn't FOMO but more of a desire to do something, to me as a child, that was life-changing. I finally gifted myself this as an adult. I found that even though, I am older the little girl that wanted to go to Universal so badly was joyus at still meeting Doc, seeing the train from Back to the Future 2 and hearing the epic music. These are treasured memories to me that have started my journey in taking my family to Universal. It's the MEMORIES that I'm there for, and it's the MEMORIES I want to help you create with your family. Regardless of your child's age, I want to help you cultivate memories on your next vacation. I have enjoyed the good and the ugly on vacations. Everyday memories are fantastic, but the memories on vacations are the ones I talk about the most! #throwbackthrusday I remember this day well.  It was our very first day in Hawai'i.  I didn't want to move there with the military.  I wanted to move to Germany to be closer to my family, but I didn't get to pick much like the rest of my military life.  The boys' dad got a follow on assignment after his year in South Korea to Hawai'i.   I went kicking and screaming.  I handled all the things like I always did.  Because often the service member doesn't need to worry about anything except following a checklist.  The spouse is the one giving up everything and doing all the things to make sure LIFE stays normal often at the sacrifice of themselves.  Got out of the military myself although I'd been considering rejoining the Hawai'i Air National Guard and I REGRET not doing that.   I didn't know that Hawai'i was calling.  I fell completely in love the moment our plane landed.  From the lei to the uncles at the rental car place to our native Hawaiian Landlady that was always giving me clothes for the boys.  I found a community in Hawai'i that was not only supportive but people I could have left my oldest son with when I gave birth to my youngest son.  A community that came over and offered to take my oldest out so that I could nap.  A place that was safe and most days beautiful.  We enjoyed dinners at the Ko'Olina Lagoons.  Sometimes we got stuck on base and we'd have to have dinner at the restaurant on base.  We'd watch commercial airplanes land at the airport.   My mom died while we were living there and that was tough.  I came to terms with a lot of things during that year. However, Hawai'i in so many ways was the place that made me take off my rose-colored glasses and see my world for what it was.  I had an amazing 3 years there and I'd move back in a heartbeat if I could afford it. Have you ever had a place you've lived that enchanted you to the moon and back? #storytime #letstalkstory #travelagent #hilife #hickambeach #hawaiilife #luckytohavelivedinhawaii #oahulife #oahulifestyle #hawaiianbeaches #hawaiiansunsets #oahusunsents #autismhawaii #autismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelpro #blackautismmom #momofa

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀 In honor of the Irish holiday, I'm sharing some of my favorite towns to visit in Ireland. Traveling with an autistic child can be slightly challenging. However, a few adjustments here and options there can turn your time away from home into a vacation for the record books! You probably know how I am always saying that travel is for everyone. Well, cities worldwide are making sure there are plenty of options for autistic families like yours. Over in Ireland, the locals have been working hard to ensure all autistic members of the community, as well as travelers, feel welcome. We all know that quiet spaces and downtime is a necessity for autistic people. Businesses have taken those two things and gone a step further by ensuring all staff members are trained to understand what a person with autism might be experiencing at any given time. The very first town in Ireland to be deemed, and certified, as autism friendly was Clonakilty. This town is located over in Cork. Ten other towns in Ireland have followed suit and are now certified as autism-friendly towns. Tralee, Listowel, Mallow, Castlebar, Lucan, Skerries, New Ross, Wicklow Town, Greystones, Bray, and Clane are those towns. This may be excellent news for autistic travelers looking to explore Ireland. However, a study completed by AsIAM, which is Ireland’s national autism advocacy organization, discovered that 88% of travelers would be more likely to visit an autism-friendly destination even if they didn’t have any autistic family members. This means these towns are garnering even more support from travelers who don’t even require autistic services. Interested in booking a trip to Ireland? Let's start planning today! #travelbetter #travelmore #autismfrienlytravel #travelingwithautism #autismtravelprofessional #autismtravelpro #autismcertifiedtravelprofessional #autismtravel #asdvacations #autismireland #autismfriendlyireland #thegreenisle #greentravels #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelagent #autismvacations #autismfriendlytrips

PSA from your favorite Travel Advisor (me!) 📌If you know you want to travel over spring break or even this summer (March-August) start planning with me, yesterday. 📌Pricing is up…everywhere. (Price of eggs anyone?) Including all things travel. What you could get for 3k a few years ago is not available now, think double., even triple that in some cases! I don’t have access to a secret vault with discounted pricing on hotels. If you want the best pricing and availability, book EARLY!! 📌”Deals” are harder to come by now. So gambling with time to see if the price comes down may leave you with less-than-ideal options (and/or) increased pricing. Resorts are booked and sold out, thus no need to offer "deals". The better prices are obtained when you book early, I don't want you to pay a penny more for your vacation than you have to! I'm on your side! 📌Availability is already low for summer travel. This is not a scare tactic — it’s honest and based on my research of current client requests. The earlier you book, the better the availability at resorts and on cruise ships. 📌If you use a travel advisor (even if it’s not me) please, please remember that we only get paid for our time is when we charge a fee for our services AND when you book AND go on your vacation that you've booked through us. The pricing and availability I pull for you won't be valid a week from now. The best time for us to look at prices is when you're ready to book! 📌Use a Travel Advisor (even if it’s not me!) We can help save you time in the research and planning process, get you the best value for your hard-earned dollars, and find the perfect fit for your dream vacation. We are also an advocate for you before and during your trip should you have any problems. Don’t you want a professional on your side? Especially one that is working for YOU and gets your unique situation? #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #autismtravelpro #autismtravelprofessional #autismtravel #autismtipsandtrips #autismtraveltips #autismtravelinspiration #autismmom #blacktravelagent #blacktraveladvisor #autismtravelagent #autismtraveladvisor #autismfriendlyvacations

I want to give out a huge THANK YOU to @josiahsworld316 for gifting my family an incredible once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyland.   My boys and I have created some memories there that will last a lifetime.  From a joke that still has me laughing told by a First Order Castmember on Rise of the Resistance to me bursting into tears during a very special character meet and greet.  These are the memories that will last forever!  My youngest son might not remember but I will remember and have photos and videos to share.  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.  I'm living with so much gratitude. Thank you to @aayoosteph for being a totally amazing Disney VIP Tour Guide and making out days with you extra magical!  You forgot to tell me that Mickey Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark.  LOL, I totally got scared when I left it on the counter after we got home!  She is an amazing VIP Tour guide that not only incredibly kind to my boys and held their hands.  She went on rides with them that I definitely couldn't ride.  She also has an understanding of autism and my fear of how she'd be around my boys was quickly dispelled after that first walk down Mainstreet holding my oldest son's hand.  I am tearing up just thinking about it.  If and when you book a VIP tour with me, although, I know it's not guaranteed she is the one I'd request over and over to have a truly magical experience at Disneyland.   Finally, it was so nice to meet you @itsdayybugg and talk about the US Air Force and respite.  Just loved realizing yet again how small the US Air Force is and learning more about you and the community of support you are working in for black pregnant and new mothers.   I saw once again how strong the autism community can be when we band together instead of ripping each other apart.  It was beautiful to feel that my boys were taken care of by other moms while we were there and supported by @breakrelief_sitters .  We had a nanny for all three days we were at the Disney Parks and I can't express how much of a relief it was to have someone experienced with autistic kids to watch my youngest son, so my oldest son and I could go on rides.  Continued in comments.

Have you been on the fence when it comes to traveling to Florida with your autistic family? Are you in the process of making sure Florida is the best destination for your next family vacation? Well, I have spent some time in Florida over the years. And each visit has been filled with so many fun adventures for my autistic family. I could spend hours simply telling you how Florida is the perfect destination for an autism-friendly vacation. I would rather show you though. I am going to do that by sharing all the fun activities and attractions your family can experience down in the Sunshine State. By the end of this post, you will be imagining your family’s reactions if they were to do at least a few of the things I will be sharing with you. And your imagination may run away from you to the point where you will be more than ready to reach out and ask me to plan your next vacation for your family! Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though. First, let me walk you through why Florida can be a perfect destination for an autism-friendly vacation. Florida is a state that experiences warm weather, and sunshine, throughout the year. There are plenty of beaches, which most autistic children love. In this state, you will also find natural parks, sensory-friendly attractions, and scenic waterways. The best part about all these things is your family will not be confined to one city within the entire state. Instead, you can choose between multiple cities and towns when planning an autism-friendly vacation in Florida. There are so many places to visit in Florida beyond the theme parks. Head on over to my link in bio to read my blog post all about Visiting Florida! {The gift of travel.} How do you choose to spend the holidays? Would you rather buy gifts or purchase a trip for your loved one and you? (Head over to my link in bio to get started!) 😃 I personally am always in favor of an experience over gifts. I always encourage my clients to consider visiting a destination over a trip, but remember travel is travel no matter the distance. I always make use of times off during holidays or breaks from school as occasions to go on vacation somewhere! When and where was your last vacation? While I am sure you are still treasuring the memories I am sure you have fallen back into your routine. Do you find you are struggling to keep up with the demands of working, parenthood, and going to a ton of therapies if you have a child with a disability? Trying to balance LIFE. Thinking about your work while playing Star Wars Battlefront, distracted about missing bedtime as you write that one last email, or making sure you packed lunches for school the next day, isn't it time you give YOURSELF a well deserved break? It is time to get away. It is time to start planning another vacation so you can put the phone down and enjoy your kids. This is time to reconnect and break up the every day routine, because sometimes that's a welcome reprieve from the day to day routine. Experience the World Together! Where are you considering traveling to next? Is another location calling your name like Iceland has been for me for a number of years? How old were your kids on their very first vacation and where did you take them? This is a judgement free zone so please share! My oldest was 10 months old and I took him on a Alaskan Cruise with @norwegiancruiseline ! The most memorable part of the trip is we became apart of the family right away as soon as the staff found out about my son's Filipino side, (his dad is Filipino). The staff were so quick to step in and help me, from holding him while I ate keeping him entertained. They also "turned down" his pack and play each night which I loved, it was a nice touch! My youngest was was 15 months old and I took him to @disneyland hahah The most memorable part of this trip was The Indiana Jones Adventure ride broking down....when my boy's dad and my oldest son were on it and I was nursing during the fireworks near park closing waiting for them to leave the ride so we could go back to the hotel. I had a cast member to keep me company while we waited for the two of them to evacuate the ride. 🤣 #disneytravelprofessional #disneymom #disneytravel #disneytravelcompany #disneytraveladvisor #turkey #urla #visitturkey #thesea #saltlife #izmir #visitizmir #visiturla #turkiskids #blackandturkish #boymo #boymomtothemax #travelpro #travelmama #travelmom #mixedkidstraveltoo #autistictkidstraveltoo #autismtravel #autismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelpro

Start Small While Planning a Trip with an Autistic Child. As a parent of an autistic child, I can tell you numerous scenarios where we have needed to start small. It’s been baby steps when it comes to new foods, new activities, and new places. So, why should it be any different when it comes to vacations? I understand that you want to get away from home. I also understand that you are afraid of how your autistic child will react to a new destination. This is why I always recommend starting small when it comes to planning a trip with your autistic child. I can help with this, as well as the next steps when it is time for a longer vacation! (Link in bio!) 😃 When it is time to plan your first trip with your autistic child, start small. Consider what hotels are located in the area you live in. There is usually one hotel that everyone says they would love to stay at if they didn’t live close by. If you do have one of those hotels, go online and book a one-night or two-night stay. Test that weekend away to see how it goes. Rather than packing things in, just make it an easy weekend away from home. Maybe plan a trip to your favorite playground or the zoo. If you are looking for more tips about how to make this first family getaway amazing head on over to my link in bio and get my guide 3 Tips to Start Traveling with your Autistic Child! #autismtravel #traveltheworld #autismtravelprofessional #autismtraveltips #autistictravel #autismfriendlyvacations #startsmall #kidscantravel #autistickidscantraveltoo #autistickidsdotraveltoo #autismtravelfamily #autismholidays #autismfriendlyholidays #autismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional

One of things I always encourage my clients to do when booking a trip with me is to get an extra pair of hands with you on vacation! You don't nessisarly need to have a child with a disability to use this service, but it's targeted at families with a child or adult with a disability. I work with @breakrelief_sitters on vacations with families to make them my ears on the ground helping to support my clients, because I can't physically be with my clients during their trips. I trust @breakrelief_sitters with my clients to be supporting and caring nannys and respite care providers to them. One of the best things about their service is you'll meet with the nanny or respite care provider before you vacation either via a video call. This way your family can establish a report with your nanny or respite care provider before the trip and really get to know them It's also nice because you'll have someone else to capture some really memorable family moments! Have you hired a nanny or a respite care provider on vacation? Tell me how it went in the comments! #vacationnanny #nannyonvacation #noshamewithananny #hireananny #caregiversupport #caregiveronvacation #caregier #respitecare #respitecareprovider #respitecareonvacation #travelingrespitecareprovider #autismtravel #autismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelpro #autismtravelagent #autismtravelconsultant #autismtravelguide

I’m Dina, the owner of Lily and Magnolia Travel. I'm one of the few Certified Autism Travel Professionals in the travel industry. I'd been thinking about it after my oldest son receive his autism diagnosis. While, at a travel conference I talked story with other travel advisors and shifted my business as soon as I got home from the conference. Then of course the pandemic happened and I was suddenly presented with an audience's undivided attention. How did I get here? Well, long story short we are a military family and while we don't get to always choose where we end up living I found each moved and each vacation get tougher and tougher for my oldest son. I worked with his therapists to find strategies that works as well as found inspiration from other traveling families like @drbrownadventures and @sensorykidsguide . It helped me to develop methods and strategies to be able to best help my son. Which in turn provides me with tips I can offer to the clients that work with me to make easier vacations as a family. While, not all my strategies are going to work with YOUR family, knowing that I work with some amazing tourism suppliers that are looking to support families with autism travel is part of my mission. I actively work with tourism suppliers that offer support to autistic families. Now onto a few facts about me ⬇️ 🏠 My current home base is Fort Walton Beach, FL. ✈️ The next trip on my calendar is to Key West, FL. ☀️ I’m forever chasing the sun. 🛍 You'll find me relaxing with a iced coffee in a beach chair on vacation. I’m excited to have you here! 🍃🍃Nature trails are an excellent place to get out to connect with nature and explore the environment. Many people can benefit from nature trails located all over the world. However, an autistic child, or adult, can benefit from them the most. Especially when they have been designed to be autism-friendly. While there are numerous nature trails throughout the US, only a couple have been designated as an authentic autism-friendly nature trails. On this Earth Day considering spending some time at some of these autism-friendly destinations! Have you been to any of these? 🍃 @pbcerm North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area in Palm Bay County, FL. 🍃 @autismnaturetrail The Autism Nature Trail at Letchworth State Park in New York State. "I’m sad for our family [that traveling is difficult for my autistic child]. For all families who need to make careful considerations [when traveling]. Other family and friends just don’t have a clue." 🏖️ I have heard this more often that I can count. Yes, I completely agree traveling with our autistic kids can be challenging. There are just different things a family with an autistic child have to consider when planning a vacation. Family and friends simply don't GET IT. Sometimes tourism suppliers don't get it. Strangers on the internet don't get it. It's not easy sometimes and it's often a better choice to stay home rather than risk a meltdown due to a new situation or a disruption in routine. Oftentimes, that very first vacation feels like it can break you. It's so defeating when it's tears, screaming, and other efforts to communicate discomfort. At the same time there is a hope that we can enjoy some similar things as those with typical children like going to a theme park. Enjoying family fun at the beach or staring in awe as a whale shark gently swimming over you. Of course we WANT that but at the same time we don't have a typical family. I invite you to grieve the life you thought you would have and then look at how YOU CAN travel and how that travel will most certainly be different that other families. Becuase, guess what? We ALL travel differently. What is the most important to you and your family? Does it have to be a theme park that will trigger discomfort? Could it be a relaxing beach vacation? Do you have to go see family on vacation? Could you instead go hiking in the Rockies? Traveling with an austic child does look different, but that doesn't make it less enjoyable. What have you struggled the most with when going on vacation? #hawaii #honolulu #hilife #hawaiilife #luckytohavelivedinhawaii #hawaiitravelagent #hawaiitraveladvisor #hawaiitravel #aloha #traveladvisor #autismtraveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelprofessonial #certifiedautismtravelpro #autismtravelpro #momofanautisticchild #momofanausticicboy #blackandautistic #mixedraceautistic #hawaiilife #oahulifestyle

I chose to become certified autism travel professional so I could understand how to best support families with an autistic loved one. I didn’t just obtain one certificate during my training though. I extended my training, so I could receive the Autism Double Check certificate. This means I have developed my understanding and acceptance of autism even further. My son is autistic and what might work for my son might not work for every family I work with. That is perfectly fine with me because I enjoy seeing what works for every autistic family, I plan vacations for! I enjoy learning how I can best work with each and every client that lands in my inbox. A few things I have learned throughout my certification courses include: How to ship food in your suitcase that you know your child will eat How to better support self-advocacy and how traveling can help with that How to find inclusive accommodations and what is acceptance vs. awareness at a hotel How to find the staff that will go above and beyond for all my clients Some people will think that I simply offer my clients a certification that doesn’t mean much of anything. However, I offer so much, including the acceptance of autism in regard to travel. I am continuously looking out for my clients and making sure I can meet as many travel needs as possible. When I choose accommodations and attractions, I make sure they have the support they need during their visit. This could include a staff trained in helping autistic families, security, and even an autism program. I didn’t get certified as an autism travel professional for a piece of paper. I was certified, so I can support every family in the best way I can. I combine my certification training with my experience as a mother to an autistic boy to offer autistic families the vacations of their dreams. And my training will never stop because I will continue to learn more about autism and how to be a better travel advisor to each and every one of my clients. Tell me in the comments what has stopped you from planning a trip with your child. #autismfriendlyvacations #certifiedautismtravelpro #autismtravelagent #autismtraveladvisor #autismmom

I love to test out things before I sent clients there. I'm slowly working on all of the resorts at @universalorlando So far I've stayed at Cabana Bay and Sapphire Falls. I'm now off to The Aventure Hotel, Universal's ultra modern and minimalist hotel. It's hip and cool and right across the stress from Cabana Bay you can actually see it in the background on the right handside of this photo with Volcano Bay peaking over the top of the hotel. It also shares it's space with Sapphire Falls. This photo was actually taken from inside of my room there. It's a quick 15 ish min walk to the Theme Parks. You can also catch the shuttle or head next door to Sapphire Falls and catch the water taxi over. I believe in community over competition and I'm going on this trip with @amyfillinger and her kids to take my boys for the first time. So be prepared for some tears from me and some internal joy from oldest. I'll also be attempting to utilize their Guest Assistance Program. It's not guaranteed but I would like to utilize to mitigate any meltdowns my boys might have. If you are interested in checking out some resorts check out my videos on this account or on my YouTube channel! When getting your autistic child ready for travel share with them social stories or books about traveling. I'm busy removing all the stress of planning and booking your trip. Sending you options and giving you a lot more time to prep your child for travel. Some of my favorite resources for traveling with your autistic child are books about autistic children getting ready to travel. They are so fun social stories that share diversity and straight forward approaches to travel! @josiahsworld316 just released their book about Josiah traveling the world! He tackles things like theme parks and getting ready to ride an airplane on his YouTube channel. @autism_storyteller writes about Oliver a non-verbal autistic boy that travels the world! His first trip is to Wembley Stadium in London. @theausomekid wrote about herself traveling to Paris France. The story is super cute and also shares the story of an autistic little girl traveling the world. @drbrownadventures shares her son's Caleb's travels around the world. I think he might be the most traveled autistic kid I know. They came all the way to Denver and we met up! I hope we can meet up again when I move to Florida. Their first book talks about getting ready to ride an airplane and step by step what to expect at the airport, a hotel, the beach and more! These are some great social stories to prep your autistic child to travel the world. What if your first trip with your autistic child doesn't go so well? Let's regroup then! It's okay that it didn't go well! This isn't a judgment on your parenting. Your child is not difficult. This is just a learning lesson. It didn't work out but we can try a different tactic! The getaway didn't go well but there are other things we can do to get your autistic kiddo ready for travel. Instead of the weekend getaway then let's take a couple of steps back. Plan another weekend getaway but instead of sleeping somewhere else encourage your child to sleep in a different bedroom in you home if that's an option for you or maybe a blow up mattress for just two nights to help them get use to the idea of sleeping in a different place. With that in place then go to different attractions in your home town. Such as the zoo, a public pool, or children's museum. The options are limitless and time your outing for days that there are sensory days or autism-fiendly days. Test this out and let me know how it goes! I'm always here to help you plan a trip or we can do a consultation about your trip! #autismfriendly #sensoryfriendly #autismdays #sensorydays #autismfriendlyvacations #autismfreindlytrips #autismtravelpro #autismtravelprofessional #autismtravel #travaelwithyourkids #honolulu #hawaiilife #hilife #hawaiitraavelagent #hawaiiantravelagent #travelmore #travelisforeveryone #traveltheworld #enjoyyourlife #liveyourbestlife #travelwithyourautisticchild #autistictravel #travel #blacktravelagent #blacktraveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelpro

Happy Wednesday! I wanted to pop in and share 3 quick tips to traveling with your autistic child! Tip 1: Ask for accommodations. You can't get help with anything unless you advocated for your child and yourself. This means while yes resorts, transportation and attractions do have accommodations they don't know that you need help unless you ask for it. This is true for me. I can't make resorts aware of what accommodations need to be in place unless YOU make me aware. Tip 2: Choose a destination based on your child Get your child on board with a trip by choosing a location that will interest them. For some families, a nature trip to the mountains or a beach may be the best option. For others, replacing outdoor time with a visit to a city of museums may be a good choice. Work with their special interests too if they have one! If you child loves Star Wars for example let's plan a trip to JUST Disney's Hollywood Studios for a day or two and then plan around their other interests! Tip 3: Include your child when planning Your child’s input on travel logistics can be valuable. Include them during certain parts of the planning phase, like asking them to choose two or three items to pack, or whether they’d like a window seat or aisle on the plane. Giving them some control in ways that are easy to fulfill will help them mentally prepare for the trip. Do you have any questions about traveling with your autistic child? Some of you have been following me here on social media for a while, and some of you are new here, so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’ve been a travel advisor for 3 years. And travel advisor may be my official title but travel genie probably describes what I do much better! I try to make your travel plans come to light! I can't promise I will get you everything on your list for your trip and maybe things might not work out as either of us anticipated because I don't have a crystal ball, but I do try my very best to meet most of your wants for your trip and handle all the stressful stuff like being on the phone and actually planning your trip so you don't have to worry about it! I also handle talking to hotels to request support with accommodations and ensure that we attempt to work with resorts and attractions that are already autism or kid-friendly! How would you tweak your job title to make it fit what you ACTUALLY do? **Bonus Fact!** After I left Active Duty I was considering a career in floral arrangements. There was a job on base that was open for the flower shop. I applied for it but someone was hired before my application was even looked at but I do enjoy arranging flowers and having fresh flowers in my home. Did you read my post from yesterday? I'd be happy to help you with that trip but I'm fully confident you can handle the first tip. Once you've moved on trying to spend some time away I highly encourage you to now rea out to me. This trip will be a little bit longer maybe 3 to 5 days. This is the ultimate test to see how your child will tolerate a vacation. I still encourage the trip to be no more than 4 to 5 hours by car or about that same distance by air. This is the trip that you really get your child involved. Ask them where they want to go, what do they want to do etc. At this point, we'll be working together and unless you really have an idea of the things you want to do I offer you options for you to pick from. I want the entire process to be as easy as possible. Giving you options and then booking your trip for ou and taking care of all the details so you don't have to. I know there is a lot on your plate already so hiring me as your travel advisor to handle all the leg work so you can focus on prepping our child for vacation is what I'm all about. I'm not saying you won't contribute to your trip, I love nothing more than when a client knows exactly what they want to do but if you don't then this is where I truly shine. I create a proposal that shares with you your hotel/vacation rental home, how you'll get there, and tours or activists you'll do. When you approve all of that then I send you an invoice for your vacation package which you can pay over time, which is why I love to book at least 6 to 12 months in advance. This also presents us plenty of time to reschedule your trip in the even of illness etc. Once we've tackled this trip and done this a few times your family may be ready to move on to longer and longer trips. Have you tried any of these tips? Do you have any tips to add? #autismtravelpro #autismtravelagent #certifiedautismtravelpro #cetifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelagent #saguaronationalpark #visittucson #theoldpueble #saguaronationalparkeast #thegrandcanyonstate #visitaz #arizona

This photo perfectly sums up what it's like to travel with kids. I get told very often...without me trying to get in to a selling conversation 😅 that it's too difficult to travel with an autistic child. Yes, for sure in some cases, I will admit there are some pretty challenging situations that make travel...well challenging. Especially, if a child has a rigid routine for example. With this in mind, I of course want to work with you and your family but I don't want to put you in a situation that makes the idea of travel stress inducing. I do have a tip and maybe even a challenge for you in 2022. If you are wanting to go on a trip with an autistic child I've got a series of posts this week to help you get started travel! If you are comfortable and you are ready to get out and see the world with your child my very first tip is to start close to home. I got this idea from @tribeonaquest . Start in your local area and start small. First, if your child needs to see what you will be doing find video reviews of a hotel in your local area you can stay at for a night or two. Second, model and or prep your child for a night or two away. Talk about what you will be doing, what they can expect, and make it fun. My oldest son likes to get a general idea of what we'll be doing and he also like choice. So, for example I'll ask him what he would like to do and give him options of things we can do at the hotel. He picks one and we do it. Thrid, maybe and this is just a suggestion encourage your child to sleep in a different room than they normally do. This is to get them used to being out of their normal space. Try it out a night or two before you go on your getaway to see how your child tolerates it. Finally, go on your trip. If it's a hit then check out my post tomorrow. If not..it's okay try it again and again until you feel your child is ready to go on a longer trip. There is no gauge of what is a vacation and what isn't. You get to decide! If you are gonna try to go on a trip with your kids can you share with me if you've tried this tip? #autismtravel #autismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelpro #travelagent #traveladvisor #travelmom

Do you have any travel plans for 2022? If not or you are wondering what to do this year you can book a consultation with me to start planning your trip. We can either do just a consultation or we can work together to plan and book you a vacation for your family. Head on over to my link in bio to get started! As for me, no big plans. The biggest plan is moving across the country. I want to hold off all travel plans till we get a home, our house hold good, settled in to the new space and my youngest son fully vaccinated. I do have thoughts to go to Warner Robins, GA (@explorewarnerrobins) and Atlanta, GA. Inwant to take my boys to the Civial Rights Museum, The Coca Cola Factory and the @georgiaaquarium and apparently Warner Robins has grown a lot since I last visited there after my mom died. Considering Mexico but not 100% sure. Coming back to Denver for a travel conference. Finally, possibly going to Universal Studios Orlando with my boys for the first time. What is on your '22 list? #autismtravel #autismtravelpro #autismttravelagent #certifiedautismtraveladvisor #2022travelplans #2022 #travelagent #traveladvisor #visitGeorgia #exploregeorgia #certifiedautismtravelpro #travelplanner #travelproferssional

It's the first week of 2022, so I thought I might do a little reintroduction. I am Dina a travel advisor, a mom to two amazing little boys one of which is autistic, I am a USAF Veteran and spouse and sometimes gamer. I started my travel agency to help families and families with autistic loved ones travel the world. I know its not always easy to travel with your autistic child. I know because I have been there, it's not rainbows and butterflies all the time, which offers space to be flexible and to follow your child's lead, which I do more oten than not. I have left Disney's Hollywood Studios after being there for just 2 hours, because it was too overstimulating after 2 days at the parks. I have left museums with both of my kids wailing because they were done. I heard my son after 3 hours at Meow Wolf advocate after working with him to tell me he was done BEFORE he got too over stimulated. Yet, I have also seen my boys talk about vacations after the fact. The joys of remembering buying tickets at the metro in Japan. Meeting Capt Jack Sparrow at Disneyland. Getting to explore Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum and learning about the animals that live there. Travel isn't always easy but it can create some lasting memories even if it was just a day at the beach. Which is why I decided to focus on the help I could provide to other families from the things I have learned along the way. Booking vacations through tourism suppliers that I know are trying to support families with autistic loved ones. I can't promise that travel will be easy but what I can promise is I can and I do remove the stress rat comes with booking a trip. You are already so busy with LIFE so when you hire me you get more someone to just book a trip. It might come as a surprise that around here the travel destinations usually fall my oldest son. But if I am left with putting those plans into action. The best part about this is we are working together on a trip. I give him choices on things he might want to do and then I book them. What I love is that it gets my oldest son excited about the trip. I do a lot of research to present options to him. He enjoys the choice to choose what we do and I'm always happy with what he chooses because it's something I believe both of my boys can tolerate and will generally have a lot of fun. Currently, planning our first road trip once we move to Florida and it's a contender between driving up to Atlanta and stopping in the armpit of GA to visit my mom's grave and possibly meeting up with @autistictravelgoddess or taking a much shorter drive over to New Orleans and hopefully meeting up with @thetravelingtwinmama I'm also diligently working on our NYC trip my oldest has absolutely been asking over and over to make that trip. I want to get settled in our first year in Florida before we take on that trip. (If you know nothing about the military we spend a ton of time waiting on things, waiting on housing, waiting on our household goods, we hurry so we can hurry up and wait!) I'm trying to decide if we will fly, drive or take the Amatrak! What would you choose between those? We homeschool so we have an abundance of time. :) If you let the travel planning up to your family, what do you think they would come up with? #momtoboys #boymo #motherofboys #visitatlanta #visitnola #visitnyc #amtrakvacations #blackandturkish #mixedkidsdotravel #autismtravelpro #autismmom #momtoanautisticchild #certifiedautismtravelpro #asdvacations #autismfriendlytravel #roadtrips #travelbytrain #trainvacations #blacktravelagent #blacktraveladvisor

What’s the best part of waking up for you? (Besides enjoying a hot cup of coffee in the quiet of the morning with no kids, no partner, no body just you and the quiet, I love that!!!! ) For me it's knowing the vacations I plan for families create members they’ll remember forever. When someone leaves me a huge review that tells me how relief it was for me to help them plan a trip I couldn't be any happier! I'm thankful for this job that started 3 years ago and I'm watching clients take amazing trips they deserve to relax, rejuviante and reconnect! Take a look at this client review. 👇 "My go to travel adviser. Knowledgeable, compassionate and attentive. With her guidance and help, we were able to book a 7 night Carribean cruise that myself and my family desperately needed." Tell me, what can I do to make you my next satisfied client? #travelagent #travelagentmom #breadwinner #blackownedbusiness #veteranowndedbusiness #blackmom #blacktravelagent #blacktraveladvisor #autismcertifiedtravelprofessional #autismtravelpro #momtoanautisticchild #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelagent #asdvacations #autismfriendlyvacations

Overall I think the Great Wolf Lodge is pretty autism-friendly but there are just some considerations to take in place. You know your child the best and you know you the best so here are some things to think about before booking a trip with me to the Great Wolf Lodge! 🌊 Bring a pair of noise cancelling headphones. You'll need these in the entrance and in the arcade. I forgot for my youngest son and I so regret that! 🌊 The smell of chlorine is strong, and it's humid. It's important to prepare your child if he/she is sensitive to smells. 🌊 Plan to spend some time in the water park, followed by some dry activities, before getting back into the water. Just to get a break from all the fun! 🌊 The water park doesn't get busy until late afternoon. Plan to spend more time there early in the morning. This last tip was one that worked in our favor. We went down to the waterpark right after breakfast and enjoyed most of the morning right up till lunch in the waterpark. My oldest son rode all the slides with me expect for the drop slide. There was a couple of times in the massive plundge slide that I thought for sure I was going to tip out of the floatation device because I was facing backwards to even out the weight although, my son is dangerously close to my weight and height! All in all the Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to enjoy as a family and to try out before you take on a major theme park. Do you have any questions about visiting the Great Wolf Lodge? Have you been to a water park that is similar? #travelagent #travelagentmom #momtoboys #boymom #momofboys #traveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #travelagency #autismvacations #autismfriendly #autismfriendlyvacations

Doing a happy dance today! I’m booked for my trip to Tucson! I'm going to be hopefully soaking up the sun and enjoying dusty sunsets again in the Sonoran Desert! I've booked a session with @flytographer and I can't wait to see how those photos turn out and hopefully visiting the NICU my son was in for a couple of weeks. I've got the @reidparkzoo tickets purchased, @desertmuseum tickets purchased, and visiting @pimaair (did you know this is where they filmed part of the first Transformers movie? Again, travel isn't about far off destinations! I haven't been out of the country since Nov of 2019 and I have seen and done a lot of things in this country I was surprised to find was there. If you are finding you are overwhelmed about planning a vacation and you need just a little support. Someone to do the leg work so you don't have to worry about it. Reach out. I'm here to help to remove the stress of planning a trip when you don't know what's out there or you really want to go on vacation but you simply don't have time. Head over to my link in bio to get started planning. Travel is for everyone and travel IS travel no matter the distance. So is @meow__wolf autism-friendly? Well, ultimately that depends on your child. If they thrive on unique sensory experiences. If they are okay with crowds, dark lighting, bright colors and loud noises than maybe. I don't think it's an experience to be missed if you and your child can tolerate it. I know my boys and we can get about 3 to 4 hours before we have to call it quits. I'm thankful for the curiosity my boys have and how they are quick to embrace the new. Check out my blog post to check out more about what I thought about Meow Wolf The House of the Etneral in Santa Fe, NM. Is @meow__wolf autism-friendly? Check out my latest blog post to find the answer or keep reading. :) The newest Meow Wolf, Convergence Station opened in Denver recently. It's a really unique take on the theme of the entire art installation that spans three cities. I found little hints of The House of the Eternal and Omega Mart. First off know it's dark in some places in all the Meow Wolfs, so if you have a child scared of the dark I do not recommend that you visit. In other places there is a lot of color and people. It's a labyrinth in each of them so it's easy to miss things and get twisted around. The doors don't lead to the room next door. The whole thing can be extremely confusing. As such consider what your child can and cannot tolerate before you get tickets to any of the Meow Wolfs. Second no strollers are allowed in any Meow Wolf they encourage baby wearing but if you have a little one that craves a safe space in their stroller this might not be a good choice. Conversly, my oldest son actually did fantastic here and my youngest son was extremely overwhelmed. I forgot my youngest son's ear muffs and I regretted it as soon as I step off the elevator to the Convergance Station. I won't make that mistake again... It's a really unique experience and you get to touch almost everything and interact with it. What's been a place you've found particularly difficult visiting with your child? #meowwolf #convergancestation #meowwolfdenver #blacktravelagent #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelagent #blacktraveladvisor #autismtravel #autismfriendlyvacations #asdvacations #autismfriendlytrips

It’s official, the holiday cheer is in full force over here, I’ve put the finishing touches on my holiday vacation for my family. I know a lot of you all are the same as I and value experiences over gifts. This will be particularly special because this destination is where my oldest son was born and after 6 years we are returning for a visit. I’m keeping the holiday cheer up as I get my clients sorted for their holiday trips. More than a few are going to theme parks this holiday and one family is going on a super epic cruise! One thing I love the most is helping clients, like you, surprise your family with a holiday surprise trip! Hello and Aloha to the new faces around here. Today I wanted to re-introduce myself, holiday style! 🎄 I’m a family and autistic family travel advisor based in Colorado for a little while longer, then we are off to Florida! Around the Holidays you’ll usually find me planning a vacation for my family off to a destination that we can build a sandman instead of a snowman! I always have a cup of kona coffee from my favorite place in the whole wide world Hawai'i nearby, and if ‘I’m in charge of the movie marathon Die Hard will be on the list because it's a Christmas movie and Batman Returns, yes taking it back to 1992! ✨✨ I’d love to get to know you all better, tell me one Holiday fact about you! meowwolf #geekytravel #geek #geekmom #gamermom #momthatgames #gamer #traveladvisor #meowwolf #meowwolfdenver #autismcertifiedtravel #autismtravel #momtoanautisticchild #momtoanautisticboy #visitdenver #visitcolorado #beautifulcolorado #coloradospringstravelagent #travelagent #familytravelagent #familytraveladvisor #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional

As many of you know I'm moving to Florida pretty soon. It's not a replacement for Hawai'i and from what I remember of living in Tampa as a child doesn't even come close when we are considering the people, the food, the weather, and the beaches BUT like many things I've learned during this journey we call life I have learned to be open to new experiences. I will admit that each time we move it's a little bit harder to leave the place we've called home for a while but I'm thankful each time from whatever place you believe in to challenge me to open my eyes more and see the great big world and remember "There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow Shining at the end of every day There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow And tomorrow's just a dream away…" What do you love the most about the city or town you live in? #soontobeafloridian #moving #pcs #movingagain #beachlife #saltlife #beachmom #tropicalmom #autismtravelprofessional #autismtravel #autismmom #autismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #hawaii #hilife #hawaiilife #oahu #oahulife #oahulifestyle #koolinalagoons #hawaiiansunset #aloha #alohalifestyle #livingwithaloha #lukcytohavelivedinhawaii #luckytohavelivedinhi #lilyandmagnoliatravel #travelagent #traveladvisor

I get asked often how to get your child involved in the planning process. One of the main things I recommend before we even have a conversation is to present options to you child. As, I've said before my oldest son picks 90% of our vacations. The other 10% I'll give him some choices about where I want to go. These choices are something I'm comfortable with traveling to and it's within a reasonable allowance of time for me to get there and enjoy. This way your child is already invested in the trip at the very beginning. Once you've decided to work with me then I present you with options, unless of course you already know everyitng you want to do, I will ask you to talk it over with your family. This is a great opportunity to allow your child to pick the activities they want to do. Of course, I want their input as well particularly if they have a special interest in something like history, for example. Then I can send you some ideas of places to visit and things to see. No matter what I want your child to feel like this is their vacation too! Not something they are getting dragged along on especially if they are leaving the comfort of their routine and home. Do you need some help with gathering some ideas for your next vacation? Reach out and let's work together on your next trip! #autismtravelprofessional #sanantonioriverwalk #sanantoniotx #visittexas #thegatewaytotheairforce #sanantonio #certifiedautismtravelprofessional #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtravelagent #autismtravel #ibcces #autismmom #travelprofessional #traveladvisor #travelagent #travel #travelwithyourkids #boymom #travelingwithmyboys #itravelwithmykids

I went to my first and last travel conference of the year. I enjoyed learning more about the travel industry from suppliers like @royalcaribbean @universalorlando and @marriotthotels to name a few and connecting with other travel advisors! I enjoyed learning from @travelbusinessmastermind and enjoying some time at Universal Studios. It was a huge benefit to go because I had a lot of questions about accessibility for my clients and also about making accommodations for my autistic families. I was able to make connections to be able to better accommodate my clients and enable them to have support from some suppliers in order for me to help them have an amazing trip. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I can't wait for the next @travelleaders conference. Time flies when you're having fun — or booking trips for excited clients! I will have to admit, I was really scared for a little while my business wasn't going to build momentum. I was really scared that due to the timing of me opening my business, I was only in business for a year and half when the pandemic happened, that there would be no way to build and recover the losses I suffered. I was days from truly closing my doors and thinking maybe I should resign myself to a government job or working at Starbucks. It's thanks to you all for TRUSTING me as a travel advisor, a mom of an autistic child and a USAF Veteran to plan and book your trips for you. Without you this business would never be possible. 😍 I also might be shouting a lot about my business too. 😉 So far this month: 💎 I've booked a massive $38,000 @royalcaribbean for this year and again in 2023! 💎 A family's first visit to @universalorlando 💎 A @disneycruiseline for another family. 💎 My own trip Tucson staying at the @westinlapaloma 💎 Finally working on sending a family to @wamonarchbeach Are you thinking about planning a getaway? One thing I'm really excited for this winter is sharing Tucson with my son. Originally, I had plans to visit before the virus that shall not be named showed up. Those plans were cancelled like many other travelers. However, due to our upcoming move I decided now is as good as time as any. So where are we going? ✨ Enjoying the family friend @westinlapaloma they have a really amazing Westin Kids club! ✨ @reidparkzoo one of my favorite zoos! We used to be members when we lived in Tucson and I'm thrilled to share this zoo with my boys! ✨ @desertmuseum is a fantastic stop along the way to learn about the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert. ✨ Going to the NICU he stayed in. I am talking to the hospital to see if we can visit the NICU but I realize with things, that might not be possible, but we can at least drive by the hospital. ✨ Finally visiting @saguaronationalpark east. This side is more stunning to me during a dusty sunset on a drive down Old Spanish Trail Road. We aren't going to El Presidio, pictured here, but The Old Pueblo has so, so much to offer. Be sure to follow me to catch some of the action of Tucson, AZ have you visited there? If not let's chat about planning a vacation to Tucson. Posted @withregram • @lilyandmagnoliatravel . This weekend I’ve been caught up in booking clients for Holiday trips, one of these trips we are truly playing by ear and following what feels right booking based off of flight deals so we can spend 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 on accommodations, MORE family time, 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 at the location. ⁣ ⁣ Which is why I completely forgot to tell you about this fabulous destination my clients are off to in a few months! ⁣ ⁣ If you’re looking for a getaway that will help you slow down and relax, look no further than Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! ⁣ ⁣ I love this resort because the We booked the Family Concierge package. The perks are fantastic. You get a dedicated butler for the week who helps with dinner reservations, answering any questions, addressing any concerns or needs that come up, and doing wonderful little things that make your stay amazing. This is a bonus especially if you need that additional support for a low support or high support autistic loved one! In addition I added on a traveling respite care provider for them so the family could have a trained professional to help the on location. Check out @breakrelief_sitters for more information or when you book a trip with me ask me about adding one to your package! ⁣ ⁣ The other big perk of Family Concierge is the private heated pool. Only Family Concierge families can use this pool. All other pools in the complex are unheated. ⁣ Would you allow me to be your travel advisor and book your next vacation to Playa Del Carmen? ⁣ ⁣ Yes? One of my biggest tips always and something I will add without asking to a client's itinerary is a trip to a city's zoo. typically it's quieter, sensory friendly and they almost always have some short of animal encounter. I can always get you tickets in advance so you don't have to worry about the tickets at the gate. I also always opt to get you a private tour especially if your children are animal lovers. it makes your trip to the zoo more than a trip to a zoo, it makes it and experience to share with each other for years to come. With all that I say and do there are other places making bigger waves than my one woman travel agency can do for autistic travelers and families with an autistic child. ⁣ ⁣ While, I try my best to plan and book vacations for families and families with an autistic loved one there is only so much my voice can do. This is where I turn to and recommend other organizations that are bigger than me and have pushed and created programs and trainings to support autistic.⁣ ⁣ The first on my list is @ibcces not only do they offer training for travel advisors that want to learn how to be better advisors for families with an autistic loved one but they offer training for other organizations too such as hospitals, hotels, schools and law enforcement. They also offer an accessibility card that you can download off their website and present it to select locations certified by them to help you get more support. ⁣ ⁣ @kulturecity is another organization that is doing big things. They offer sensory inclusive certification that helps a business become more accepting and inclusive to ALL and also helps open up businesses to a brand new community. You will find the marker of their sensory spaces or check their website for over 550 locations that have gotten training from them. My local base library has received training with them!⁣ ⁣ Have you heard of either of these organizations? ⁣ ⁣ #sensoryprocessingdisorder #sensoryinclusive #sensoryinclusion #ibcces #cats #certifiedautismtravelpro #certifiedautismtraveladvisor #kulturecity #autismacceptance
