CREEPY CLAWS ANIMAL CENTRE. Thursday, we tried something a little new for us, a home ed drop-off group, which I'll admit I was nervous about, and so was Oaks. He's still only 5, very and ive chosen to home Educate for a huge number of reasons one being to get the maximum amount of time with him while he's growing up therefore drop off groups haven't ever felt right. Recently, though, we've had a few challenges, and I'm 99% sure Oaks has ADHD or Autism or perhaps both. It's been exhausting and a huge learning curve for me as well as rewarding at times when I've found success with changing something to work better for him. Oaks has a huge personality, which I love, and I don't want to ever squash that. This session only lasted an hour, and that was plenty long enough for both Oaks and me. I also stayed close by on-site, where I could still see Oaks, but he couldn't quite see me. He managed really well with this session, so I had nothing to worry about and actually it showed me that this was the group we needed without even knowing, that hour to just breathe and have a coffee was amazing and a very much needed reset. So you may wonder why I've shared this as its a personal matter, well here's why I want my Instagram to be an honest place, a place where I don't just share the perfect moments. After being honest, I may just reach one person and make a difference,it might help that one person not feel so alone. I know I've found comfort in other people's posts in the last few weeks,I've felt less alone on this journey. Already nearly a week since we left Melbourne to come back to London. It’s good to be back, aware of what time zone I’m in and chatting to my lovely friends like @cathrynlaurawood and @ovobloom in hour appropriate voice notes, and joining the rest of the UK in the hope the rain will finally bugger off and the sunny spring will finally arrive. But like every time I go home, I miss it. I miss my people and my gum trees and the size of the sky. I miss humour only we get. Being in the land of Bluey, where that’s just how we are. It’s that conundrum where you’re never quite sure where “home” is any more, when you’re not too precisely at home in the country you reside but also never quite home when you get back to home either, because your life is established in another part of the world for over a decade. It’s nice to be here. It’s nice to be there. It’s nice to have the benefit and privilege of choice and accessibility, after the last five years. It’s a special expat life to be both Aussie and Kiwi and live abroad. But you can’t recreate that smell of gum trees, the first sniff of the air when you step outside for the first time again in many moons, or the impossible to bottle smell of the gums after the rain. So exciting that my breastmilk jewelry and goodies came in today! @hollydaydna is my absolute favorite artist that I’ve gotten stuff from and she did not disappoint! I got a marquis eternity band to be able to stack with my wedding band! It is white gold and has genuine birthstones for each of our birth months (May/emerald-me, October/tourmaline-Killian and Castiel, November/citrine-Stephen and Kit, and December/tanzanite-Elias) included with a combination of breastmilk from each of the boys. This year is extra special because it’s our 10th wedding anniversary and I finally finished my pregnancy and breastfeeding journey!
