Aggiornamenti📚 Siamo alla fine del mese e, come sempre, ecco un po’ la mia situazione letture. •Cosa ho letto questo mese? Dopo il mese di Marzo in blocco, ho ritrovato la voglia di leggere grazie alla rilettura di “Fuoco e Sangue” con il gruppo di lettura di @chiarigiovannini organizzato in vista della seconda stagione di House of the dragon. Non avrei mai pensato che questo libro potesse tirarmi fuori dal blocco perché di sicuro non lo definirei “leggero”, ma tant’è e, come la prima volta, lo sto amando. Ho inoltre terminato “Flawless” di Elsie Silver che è un romance che vede per protagonista un cowboy, “One more upon a time” che è una breve favola che non mi ha convinta del tutto, “Sangue e Cenere” che avevo interrotto per il blocco e che mi è piaciuto molto, e ho riletto il primo fumetto di “Heartstopper”. •Cosa sto leggendo? Sicuramente proseguirò con le prossime tappe del gdl per “Fuoco e sangue”. Inoltre ho acquistato in cartaceo “Game of titans”, il sequel di “Game of Gods”, libro che ho amato tantissimo lo scorso anno. Lo sto leggendo lentamente perché purtroppo di sera fatico a leggere su carta rispetto a Kindle e di giorno non riesco a ritagliarmi tempo per la lettura, ma sto amando anche questo. Sicuramente però, inizierò anche qualcosa sul Kindle da poter leggere la sera e da potermi portare tranquillamente negli spostamenti del prossimo mese. •Cosa leggerò a Maggio? Maggio è un mese pieno zeppo di nuove uscite che mi interessano, e in più c’è il salone. Quindi posso dire con certezza che le mie prossime letture saranno sicuramente nuovi acquisti (si, lo so. Non so dovrebbe fare🤡). In cima alla mia lista ci sono “Spietate Promesse” che è sequel di “Divini Rivali”, ed i 2 libri della collana di Meg @labibliotecadidaphne che escono proprio oggi. Bonus visioni🍿🎥🎬 Ho fatto il rewatch di House of the Dragon e adesso sto facendo quello di Game of Thrones, così da essere super preparata per Giugno. Taki mam plan - dużo czytać, leniuchować i korzystać z pięknej (mam nadzieję) pogody 🤍. A teraz do rzeczy. Nie rozumiem, czemu o „Wszystkich naszych chwilach” jest tak cicho - przecież ta książka jest genialna! Świetnie się przy niej bawiłam. Historia Tuckera i Eriki uświadomiła mi, że chcę czytać jeszcze więcej młodzieżówek🤍. Książka nie jest schematyczna. Dzieli się na cztery części, to jest cztery zwariowane imprezy, na których Erika i Tucker przypadkiem i nie tylko wpadają na siebie i tym samym coraz bardziej zacieśniają więzi, uświadamiają sobie, jak bardzo się lubią-lubią i jak uwielbiają swoje towarzystwo. Ale z racji różnych perypetii i powiedziałabym również jeszcze niedojrzałego wieku, kiedy robi się problem z niczego, momentami są zbyt dumni, by sobie o tym powiedzieć. A może po prostu boją się, że zepsują tak piękną przyjaźń? Mogę was zapewnić, że nie da się przy niej nudzić. Jest kolorowo, spontanicznie i…luźno. To idealny tytuł, jeśli chcecie się zrelaksować, a także oderwać się od codziennych trosk. J'avais lu la quatrième de couverture - ce qui est très très rare si vous commencez à me connaître -, pour autant ce livre a été une réelle surprise. Rien ne prédit les évènements et leur enchevêtrement. 🌙 J'ai adoré l'histoire de Jill, triste et solitaire elle ne vit pas plus que si elle appartenait aux limbes, mais elle a son imagination qui la comble. Elle voyage à travers sa tête, ses pensées d'artiste d'un autre monde, puisant dans d'autres forces son besoin de vivre. 🦴 Chaque chapitre est entrecoupé d'un court passage sur l'histoire d'une certaine Marie que l'on découvre également au fur et à mesure des pages. Clairement on est intrigué, on attend jusqu'à la fin le dernier mot de l'histoire de ces deux femmes que tout oppose ou peut être pas tellement en fait. 🪻 C'est un roman très très court, donc forcément ne vous attendez pas à ce que tout soit détaillé, que l'on rentre dans le fond de chaque intrigue : ce n'est et ça ne peut pas être le cas. This week, I’m also reading How to Organize a Library, by Roberto Calasso. I immediately drowned to the opening lines: “Organizing one’s library touches on highly metaphysical issues. I’ve always been astonished that Kant never wrote a treatise on this subject. Indeed, it could provide a prime opportunity to explore a fundamental question: what is order? Perfect order is unachievable, simply because entropy exists. Yet, we cannot live without some form of order. With books, as with other aspects of life, we must navigate a path between two extremes.” Entropy. That’s a perfect word to define the clutter of life and my library. I think he won me with this first paragraph. Question: do YOU have an organized library or do you live in a constant entropy of books?

I interact Ellery all the time and she is a genuinely lovely, wonderful and sweet person which makes this post even more special to me! This is my second Ellery book and I have LOVED them both. I absolutely will continue to read this series. If I’m honest cozy mysteries aren’t my typical go to but every time I read one I ask myself why? I absolutely enjoy them and Ellery makes them so easy to devour. Her writing is impressive to say the least. In Paper Cuts I was easily absorbed into this small town mystery where Ellery sets the stage for a past that comes back to haunt these characters! Don’t be mistaken that because this is a cozy that it is light and fluffy. It is so much more! There is depth to the storyline and character and even shocking twists! There is even a neurodivergent character that made me love this book even more! Eranova non esiste più, e la cosa più grave è che oltre ad aver spazzato via le case dei cittadini, costruite con sudore e sacrificio, per lasciare spazio all'ennesimo mostro ecologico peraltro mai portato a termine, volevano cancellare con un colpo di gomma anche la storia di quello che era stato un paese di rinascita. 🍊🌳💚🧡 Io sono calabrese e nonostante ciò non conoscevo questa storia. Attraverso queste pagine ho avuto la sensazione di entrare nelle loro case, mangiare il loro cibo, fare con loro un bagno al mare, perdere la cosa più importante che si possa avere, le radici. hej hej! 🍊 trafiliście już w tym roku na jakieś książkowe rozczarowania? u mnie zdecydowanie jest to Zakon Drzewa I Pomarańczy. • Osoba autorska: Samantha Shannon • Wydawca: Sine Qua Non • Wersja polska: Maciej Pawlak • Ocena: 2/5 ✨️ Chyba jeszcze nigdy nie czułam takiego rozczarowania w związku z książką fantasy, która po zapowiedziach, opisie i recenzjach wydawała się po prostu hitem. I chociaż jestem w stanie zrozumieć, dlaczego zebrała swoje rzesze fanów, ja niestety nie mogę dołączyć do tego grona 🍊. Piszę tę recenzję jakiś czas po przeczytaniu książki i powiem Wam szczerze, że nie mogę przypomnieć sobie żadnej lepszej strony tej powieści. Za to doskonale pamiętam to, co mi się w niej nie spodobało: • jak dla mnie książka jest totalnie przegadana, większość sytuacji można by było skrócić o połowę i miałoby to większy sens, tym bardziej, że większość opisów nie dotyczyło niczego konkretnego; • nie znalazłam tam ani jednego bohatera, który chociaż minimalnie skradł mi serce. Tak naprawdę to nic nie czułam, poznając ich losy ; • kilka wątków (np sam Zakon czy Smoki) miały naprawdę ogromny potencjał, ale były słabo poprowadzone, a uwaga skupiała się na mniej istotnych elementach 🌳. "Zakon drzewa pomarańczy" czekał na mojej półce naprawdę długo, byłam podekscytowana sięgając po tę pozycję, a niestety nie wyszło tak, jakbym chciała. No ale nie samymi genialnymi książkami człowiek żyje, prawda? Czy przeczytam drugi tom? In seinem Buch „Knife - Gedanken nach einem Mordversuch“, verarbeitet Rushdie das Attentat und dessen Folgen. "In knapp einer halben Minute könnte man bequem ein Sonett von Shakespeare vortragen. Das ist exakt die Zeit, die das Attentat auf Salman Rushdie dauerte. Nun hat er daraus große Literatur gemacht". Insgesamt ist "Knife" vor allem ein sehr nachdenkliches und auch über weite Strecken trauriges Buch. Da kämpft ein Schriftsteller ums schiere Überleben, verliert ein Auge und behält auch im Gesicht und in der Schreibhand bleibende Schäden. Das Buch zu lesen, war eine intensive Erfahrung. Die sehr privaten Einblicke in das Leben des Autors habeb eine große Nähe zum Geschehen aufgebaut. Ich wollte die Geschichte oft zur Seite legen, um innezuhalten, musste dann aber doch weiterlesen. Besonders eindrucksvoll ist das Kapitel A., in dem Rushdie ein fiktives Gespräch mit seinem Attentäter führt. "Ich erkenne Sie jetzt, mein gescheiterter Mörder, mein scheinheiliger Attentäter, mon semblable, mon frère. Sie konnten es mit dem Morden versuchen, weil Sie nicht zu lachen wussten." Rushdie reagiert in seinem Buch mit Liebe auf Hass - "Knife" ist eine beeindruckende Lektüre, die mich sehr für sich eingenommen hat. Am Schluss zitiert Salman Rushdie auch den Schluss seiner Rede vor dem PEN America: "Wir dürfen uns von Terror nicht terrorisieren lassen. Gewalt darf uns nicht vom Weg abbringen. Der Kampf geht weiter."

🌟Rezension🌟 Ich habe das Ebook "Die Gruft des Dr. Amorbius" von der lieben @tanjahanika_autorin beendet 🥰 • Eine wirklich kurzweilige aber gruselige Schauergeschichte die unter die Haut geht 😱 Die Story lässt sich gut gelesen und war fast durchgehend spannend. Die Prozagonisten waren interessant beschrieben aber es fehlte an Tiefgang. Dafür ist aber die Geschichte einfach zu kurz. Dennoch gefiel mir ganze Stil ganz gut. Auch das Thema Leichenforschung ist mega interessant und ich liebe es über solche Themen zu lesen 🥰 Wer eine kurzweilige Schauergeschichte lesen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. • Klappentext: Ist es die Einsamkeit, die in ihm schlummert, oder eine bislang verborgene Dunkelheit, die an die Oberfläche bricht? Doktor Konrad R. Amorbius macht sich eines unsäglichen Verbrechens schuldig: Er heuert Leichendiebe an. An den toten Körpern forscht der Doktor, um wichtige Erkenntnisse zu erlangen, die Medizin zu verbessern und viele Menschenleben zu retten, nachdem er es nicht vermochte, die Krankheit seiner geliebten Frau zu heilen. Seine Moral wird bald auf eine harte Probe gestellt und die Folgen sind schlimmer als des Doktors schlimmster Albtraum – und schreckliche Dinge zu träumen vermag er so gut, wie er sein blutiges Handwerk beherrscht. Voor, tijdens en na de ontvoering. Linda van Rijn - Off Piste ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~ Een vakantie in Saalbach die uitliep op een dodelijke misverstand. Niet echt een favoriet deze maand. Nie znając języka, bez perspektyw pracy w wyuczonym zawodzie zatrudnia się w restauracji jako pikolak, czyli asystent kelnera (spokojnie, on też przez większość czasu nie wie kim właściwie jest pikolak, co robi i co jest w jego obowiązkach) 🍽🇨🇵 Dzięki temu odkrył jak tak naprawdę wygląda praca w restauracji od kuchni (nie tylko w przenośni), ile tak naprawdę jest tam rywalizacji, wyzysku i niesprawiedliwości 🇨🇵🍽 Chciałam tylko powiedzieć, że po przeczytaniu tej książki już chyba nigdy nie wybiorę się do dużej restauracji (nie żebym tam za często bywała). Autor pokazał jak wygląda praca za zamkniętymi drzwiami. Podzielić się szczegółami, o których wolałabym nie wiedzieć 🇨🇵🍽 Trochę ciężko dopasować mi ten tytuł do konkretnego gatunku. Przede wszystkim spodziewałam się bardziej reportażu. Takich suchych (ale nie nudnych!) faktów, a dostałam bardziej sfabularyzowany pamiętnik 🍽🇨🇵 Bardzo podobały mi się wszystkie wstawki po francusku i doceniam, że po każdym rozdziale był słowniczek (znacznie wygodniejsze niż gdyby znajdował się na końcu książki!). Nie jestem tylko pewna czy osoby, które nigdy nie uczyły się francuskiego nie będą zmęczone ciągłym sprawdzaniem tłumaczenia, bo tych wstawek było naprawdę dużo. It's national read a book day and my humble recommendation to you is annnapolitano’s *Hello, Beautiful.* . It's the love story between four sisters over many decades, from childhood to middle age. First off, I LOVE stories about sisters - second off, what I enjoyed the most was how the book challenged me to consider what I would be willing to let go of in order to fully love. Something major happens in the book and I found myself both shaking my fists in anger and opening my heart to possibility. It's just so FRIGGIN' GOOD. . I'm not the only one who endorsed it. It's oprah’s 100th Book Club Pick so...very little chance I'm wrong on this one :) . Ann is also super smart, warm, funny, and kind. I know this to be a FACT because I know her through our literary home, thedialpress. So if you want a fantastic read and to support an author and a publisher telling honest, alive stories from the heart, there is no better book to take home. . I love how the author depicted Cass's emotions. I loved reading about her journey of coping with and overcoming her loss throughout the book. Vince is very supportive of Cass; he is there whenever she needs him. They developed romantic feelings for each other. The author has also shown how different people experience grief for their loved ones and the complexity of human emotions. A beautifully written book about loss, love, and family. After getting home from a weekend away with my Family, I settled down to write some more of my book. Before I started this story I had no idea what I was going to write. I had an idea of what I wanted this story to be about. But I didn’t know how far the story would carry me. I’m still so nervous but I hit a mile stone yesterday reaching a word count of over 41,000 words. Sztuczna inteligencja od dawna była obiektem zainteresowania literatury, ale też temat eksplorowany był głównie przez twórców powieści z gatunku science fiction. Teraz jednak, gdy istnienie AI stało się tak namacalne, nawet jeśli nie ma (jeszcze) tej docelowej, samoświadomej formy, zaczyna przenikać jako punkt napędowy także do gatunków, których akcja rozgrywa się bardziej współcześnie. A że ten trop literacki od lat bardzo mnie pociąga (podobnie jak zagadnienia związane z etycznym i filozoficznym ujęciem kwestii), ulegam pokusie czytania lektur, które zapewniają mi kontakt z tematem. I dlatego właśnie skusiłam się na lekturę thrillera Kamila Piechury pt. Era. [Współpraca barterowa z @filiamrocznastrona ] Piechura niemal na początku swojej powieści składa nam, czytelnikom, pewną obietnicę - a to za sprawą cytatu, otwierającego historię i przywołującego słowa Gariego Kasparowa o tym, że maszyny zaczynają zaskakiwać nas metodami, jakich używają do osiągania rezultatów. Te słowa ustawiają w pewien sposób nasze oczekiwania, z którymi autor zaczyna pogrywać. Era to powieść, którą można śmiało nazwać technothrillerem, a jednocześnie pozostaje - w moim odczuciu - przystępna także dla czytelników nieobeznanych z techniczną nomenklaturą. Choć aspekty techniczne odgrywają tu pewną rolę, autor dba o to, by za pośrednictwem jednego z bohaterów przybliżyć je laikom w sposób zrozumiały na tyle, by mogli cieszyć się przebiegiem fabuły. Zresztą technologia odgrywa tu z jednej strony rolę znaczącą, ale nie pierwszoplanową jeśli chodzi o budowanie napięcia. Bo to - klasycznie dla thrillera - opiera się nie na znajomości zasad działania AI, a na poczuciu narastającego zagrożenia i niejasnych intencjach. Oraz na stałym pytaniu o to, czy za ciosami, padającymi na zespół Falka, stoi człowiek czy zbuntowana maszyna. Intryga, choć wydaje się początkowo dość prosta, ze sceny na scenę komplikuje się, gmatwa i zmienia. Finalnie przekonujemy się, że nic tu nie było przypadkowe, a każdy z elementów i każda z postaci miała do odegrania swoją rolę, nawet jeśli wydawała się bardzo schematyczna czy stereotypowa. REVIEW - The Maze Cutter by James Dashner - 3.5⭐️ It's the first book in The Maze Runner new spin-off series set 73 years after the Death Cure, telling the story of the islanders - descendants of the surviving Gladers - whose peaceful life ends the moment a mysterious rusty old ship shows up and they are forced to embark on a dangerous journey back to civilization where they find out that Cranks from the old world have evolved into more violent and intelligent versions of themselves and the world has divided into two groups:The Godhead and the Remnant Nation. Both of which are hunting islanders down for their own reasons. I was absolutely thrilled to dive back into this world!There was only faint mention of Thomas, but we had old but still living Frypan and the Book of Newt left to tell their story, which I loved so much!This story was a complete new intake and had new mysteries, new creatures, and new horrors. It was pretty hard to get into this book at first because it jumped between multiple POVs, and the start was honestly a bit confusing.But once I got into it, I enjoyed it much more and had to read it all in one sitting. I feel like it was more focused on setting up the world and background for the next book because not much really happened, and I thought that characters were left a bit undeveloped.No one was asking any questions. They just went along with it. Also, Alexandra’s parts were really confusing because of so many new terms and concepts introduced to the reader without any context as to what they meant.Thankfully, we got a few answers from the islanders' POV. I probably loved Minho’s POV the best, but I do feel like I haven't actually connected with any of the characters yet.I’m hoping to see that settled in the next book. I love that the author is not afraid to push the limits, so when you read these books, you never know what’s going to happen next, which is great at keeping you guessing and reading.This book also leaves you on a major cliffhanger that just begs me to pick up the next book!
