Robyn's first Christmas. We knew it wasn't going to be easy spending Christmas in hospital but it was 10 times harder when Robyn had this problem going into Christmas week and having to have major surgery. Thankfully Robyn has been recovering well and has come off the ventilator. We ain't out of the woods yet as her infection markers have shot up again so we are watching her carefully. Christmas day went well. Robyn was spoilt with lots of gifts from her friends from social media and various charities. We had a lovely Christmas dinner leading up to Christmas day as we knew we would get one Christmas day. But Chantelle was offered one at the hospital on the day and as you can see it wasn't very appealing. Luckily our lovely neighbors had provided us with a dinner later that day. We had a nice day considering and made the most of being together. Thank you to everyone who has helped us out this year, to all the amazing people who have donated, fundraised and just supported us with kind messages. Well unfortunately Austin didnt keep his promise to be home for Christmas. Got admitted yesterday to pccu after a trip by ambulance and then moved to the annex today as it is confirmed he has RSV 😔😔 praying to be home still for Christmas but from yesterday to today we went up even more on our oxygen and now we are on 9L. This boy is just keeping up on our toes but for once we would@love to catch a break. The last couple of months have been a roller coaster and I know that’s how these medically complex kids work but it certainly doesn’t make life any easier. From being diagnosed with heart failure last month to now having RSV praying for a quick recovery and hopefully home for his birthday so we can do a little party for him. Update! Drum roll please 🥁🥁… Evie is officially 1B status for transplant! It means she’s getting too well to be the highest priority for transplant!! She has also been weaning on her last heart medication which is also her last IV medication!!! The medication she is weaning on is called milrinone and helps her heart function, the dose she started on was keeping her 1A status but since weaning it, she has had no vital changes which means she doesn’t need that much of it! The hope is to come off tomorrow completely🤞🤞 what an amazing Christmas gift🙏 after she’s off her milrinone, she is officially off of all support, after 7 months!!! She also has upgraded to being spoon fed here and there which is a big deal when you were intubated for 4 months! She is doing all the good things! This morning we got to see our favorite man in the whole world, dr e! He is very pleased and even impressed with her progress, he blew her kisses as he was leaving and Evie blew him a few too🥰. 3 months ago we were told to prepare for the worst and now we are here!! Evie continues to kick ass every day and proves the medical books wrong everyday! ひと足お先のMerry Christmas🎄✨ 本日はまだ12月22日 金曜日です。 ちなみに月曜からまた緊急入院となりまして、5日目でございます😂 土日は病棟が事務的な稼働しないので、クリスマスイベントもクリスマスメニューも前倒しらしく、本日が私たちのクリスマスでした（笑） キャンドルサービス🕯️のポスターを見て密かに楽しみにしていたのですが… 防火上の問題で、近年はできないらしく、若いサンタ🎅とトナカイとのチェキサービスとなりました（笑） ちょうど母も来ていたし、なかなか病院🏥でクリスマス🎄なんて過ごさないので、ある意味今年の記念になったかも（笑） 私は絶食3.5日からのお粥1.5日目で普通食ではないので、ケーキ🍰の代わりにイチゴ🍓ムースでしたが、その他も優しいなりに少し豪華で美味しく、ほっこり嬉しかったです☺️ 今回は今までの中で一番軽い症状で回復も早く、時間があるので肌診断したり楽天ROOMを作ってオススメ紹介したり（ハイライトとプロフに貼ってあります😊）と、相変わらず転んでもタダでは起きない入院生活🤭 最初は「年内に退院できれば…」→「26（火）を目指そうか…」からの、週末無事なら25（月）退院予定となりました！🙌 仕事納めまで3日だけでも出勤して、ある程度仕事をまとめられるかも…😮💨 クリスマス🎄当日に退院してもいきなりご馳走は食べられないし、職場への貢物を買いに行かなきゃだしで全然意味は無いんですけどね😅💦 とにかく大事に至らずよかったです😌 完全快復はしてませんが、投薬しながら普通に暮らせる感じがする（笑） 外はすっかり真冬の寒さ❄️に突入したとのこと。 皆様も無理せずご自愛ください😌✨ ＊ ＊ #入院中 #入院生活 #入院日記 #闘病中 #闘病日記 #病院のクリスマス #病院食 #クリスマス2023 #hospital #christmasinhospital #hospitalizacion

Maintenance Cycle 1 ✅️ Today marked the start of Cycle 2 of Maintenance, Harry had Vincristine chemo and starts 5 days of steroids today. The consultant we spoke with today was absolutely delighted with Harry's progress, and despite having a 50% reduction in chemo over the past 2 weeks she is happy to increase him straight back up to 100% dosage as his neutrophils have shot up from 0.7 to 1.5 in a fortnight. Hopefully this won't have too much of an adverse effect on Harry especially in the lead up to Christmas. There was lots going on in @alderhey today, beautiful decorations everywhere, Father Christmas was in attendance, and we got to see the world's biggest selection box which is currently being raffled off to raise money for @alderhey_inspired - get your raffle tickets to be in for a chance to win!! (Though I've already decided I've definitely won it) It felt a bit surreal being in Alder Hey at this time of year and actually being able to "enjoy" it - this time last year we were still in the fog of newly being diagnosed and we had no Christmas spirit whatsoever. So we are determined to make the most of it this year! I'm already dreading what the steroids are going to do to my happy boy over the next few days but I'm glad we're getting them "out of the way" with plenty of time to go before Christmas. We went for a fidget toy squishy ball thing and a teenage colouring book as requested. Lovely easy kind act to do when shopping for presents.
