14/09/2021 - Squats Squat - 2x6x140kg High Bar Tempo Squats - 5x100,110,120kg Leg Extension - 3x10x60kg Continuing to work on improving squat form. Small changes, each resulting in incremental improvements to technique and execution, should eventually lead to a solid, safe, strong squat. Squats have always been my weakest lift - it's only recently that I've actually been able to squat more than I bench (and I don't bench alot, so that's saying something!). Between a bunch of anatomical factors (uneven leg length, muscle and mobility imbalances, old injuries and hypermobile joints primarily) and a deeply ingrained worry about aggravating or causing injuries associated with those anatomical factors the squat is an exercise that has really never "clicked" for me. 06/09/2021 - Squats Squat - 1x1x170kg, 2x3x150kg High Bar Tempo Squats - 3x5x110kg Leg Extension - 3x10x50kg Had manflu from hell knock me on my arse from about 1000 onwards yesterday, so really wasn't expecting much out of this mornings workout. Was pleasantly surprised to be able to work up to a relatively easy 170kg single (my current 1rm is 172.5kg...). Sitting here 30 minutes later feeling manflu start to creep back in, but whatever. At least I got my workout in. Also officially "failed" 75 Hard yesterday. By 7pm I was absolutely exhausted - Just couldn't muster up the energy or motivation for a 2nd workout, another 1000kcal, 100+g protein, 2L of water and reading before bed at that point. Oh well. It served its purpose and I got a lot out of it. 21/08/2021 - Play time Slingshot Bench Press - 100kg x5, 120kg x3, 3x1x135kg, 2x5x120kg Atlas Stone Loading - 2x5x80kg Face Pulls - 3x12x20kg Ordered a @mbslingshot sling shot original, which arrived yesterday, so just had a bit of a play session in the garage this morning to try it out. My 1rm with bench press is currently 130kg, so it was fun playing with a slightly higher weight and knocking out a bit more volume at a high % as back down. Definitely keen to incorporate this in to my bench training (please @kiakaha_lifestyle ? Hah) Followed up with some atlas Stone Loading for shits n giggles, and then some face pulls because I figure my shoulders deserved a little care after this session. Good fun.
