Picking a simple task like going outside or snuggling with your babies and making time to do that every single day will help create a habit. To be at our best, we have to take time for ourselves daily or at least multiple times a week. It can be easy when we have so many things going in our lives to not carve out that time for ourselves, but it can also be such a detriment to our well-being. It is actually during these busy, chaotic or challenging times in our lives that our self-care routine can be what gets us through. This is why I prioritize my meditation practice which I have had for years now, no matter what is going on in my life. I know that each morning, regardless of when I need to get up that I am going to tune in, connect, and have that time to ground and center for whatever life is going to throw at me. It doesn’t have to be meditation, but having some kind of outlet, habit or routine that you can build into your life to allow you to fill your cup up. Some ideas for self-care: Meditation Journaling Exercise Dance, signing, some kind of physical expression Getting out in nature, going for a walk Reading Yoga Drawing or painting Today I was lucky enough to go enjoy nature on a beautiful day in San Diego. It has been 2 months since I have hiked due to my healthy issues and it felt so damn good. The wind on my face, the chirping of the birds, sky gazing, watching my dog Jack be so stoked, the whole experience was blissful. Prioritize yourself and your wellbeing, an hour a day or even 30 minutes if you really are that busy.
